Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted February 12, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted February 12, 2007 Its a shame that there is no interior :-( -l2k- That's always the problem with these UCS sets... And looking at how this ship is build, it doesn't look very easy to "add" an interior. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 The interior of this set is dissapointing. What is Luke doing sideways? -ZotS Quote
sam89 Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 That's the how Luke sits in the film. The gun turret is on its side facing upwards. Quote
OOM-9 Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I just got my mom to get me one - there goes my birthday! Luke isn't sideways. He appears to be because in the movies, I think, they both were facing back to back because the artifical gravity had each of them facing the outside which made their backs level to the deck. So this is actually accurate to the movies. (I talked with TLC and they told me that the MF is fair game for the C-3PO promotion!) Quote
Scouty Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 No, that is how Luke should be, facing up. If the falcon was sitting on a table, luke would be facing up. An interior here is possible, but for other UCS is nearly impossible, cept the UCS Y-Wing. One reason I want to buy this set, and this applies to all other sets, is that I love building, and the looks, but the build is what I enjoy most. I had the time of my life building my ISD, I just have to figure a way to get this. Quote

So this is actually accurate to the movies. What does the artificial gravity have to do with anything? They top turret seat faces up and the bottom turret seat faces down. 8-| (have we just had three people give the same answer to one persons question right after another?) It appears the landing gear has only one position but the 'boarding ramp' can open and close. *y* In the US it's number 6 in the best-sellers list at the moment. Now number three! X-O *wacko* Quote
Starwars4J Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 What does the artificial gravity have to do with anything? They top turret seat faces up and the bottom turret seat faces down. 8-| Each turret had it's own gravity ;-) Quote
Dark Brick Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I guess there are a lot of fans of both Star Wars and LEGO who are obviously buying them. No doubt that sellers on BL and Ebay are purchasing the maximum amount they can. Others maybe opting to get family to help them buy even more perhaps(I know I will). >:-) So then this raises the question, is LEGO actually having a limit of no more than say 20,000 of these or are they just taking as many orders as they can up until the end of March 31st and then coming up with a nice round number for the certificate? At any rate it is number 3 on the LEGO billboards top 25, so that must mean something. DB Quote
Scouty Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Well, this set will become by far the best-selling set ever. So I predict lego will make a bunch of them to keep with demand, I don't think there is going to be alot of backordering here. Quote

So I predict lego will make a bunch of them to keep with demand, I don't think there is going to be alot of backordering here. Well, as this IS the best set LEGO has ever produced, one might expect demand amongst AFOLs to be pretty high, if only for the building experience a model like this provides. Casually, this thing should take the average fan several weeks to finnish! I figure that this is one model where you snooze: you lose. Quote
stan Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I doubt this will be a best seller as in quantity, it might make them alot of profit due to the high price point, but i doubt many people will be buying multiples of this one, if at all. Quote
oo7 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Each turret had it's own gravity ;-) Although irrelevent to the general direction the turret faces, you pose an interesting point. You're saying each turret has it's own artificial gravity separate from the rest of the ship's artificial gravity so that one inside does not feel 'sideways'? I wonder how these Star Wars artificial gravity machines are supposed to work...... What a dumb question! X-D Since when has Star Wars maintained scienctific accuracy? In the battle of Coruscant the whole galaxy seems to share a single gravitational field. And does C3PO and the Seperatist Battle Droids have 'emotion chips' or what have you? Quote

I have to disagree with you considering I have 2 on order. Also there are a few of us on EB that are buying at least one. Further more, out of the top 25 sets sold on LEGO's website, it is now at number 3 and it has only been about 48 hours. Sorry but you may need to go back a few pages on this thread and look at all those who have bought one. DB Quote
Vader Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Its a shame that there is no interior :-( -l2k- Well thats the great thing about lego, if its not included then moc the bad boy up. I can see alot of people doing exactly that, can you imagine what possible moc's we could see? Hell some of the moc versions of the first 2 falcon were superb. Quote
Pepper Roni Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Hey, I got an E-Mail to buy it. It comes with a new Han, a New Ben Kenobi, Chewy, and a new Leia. He says it comes with 5,000 pieces!!!!! Who-eee!!!! I want it, but when my mom saw the E-mail, she said, "U Aren't going to get it. And yes, it's about $500 for US. But for other countries, they pay over 1,000 cash Quote

Sets like the battle paks are selling in their millions, people are buying several sets each, i doubt if the ucs falcon will even sell in the 100's of thousands, the reason why it is at postion 3 in the best seller list is because nearly everyone who wants it and is going to buy it has already ordered. Check back in a few months and i am sure it will have dissapeared completely. Like i said it might be one of the big money makers for lego due to its price but it wont sell in large volume. Quote
natelite Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I can't agree with that ;-) For AFOLs, Lego is more than a toy, its a hobby, and like every hobby, it has its price, whatever that price is.Sure one can argue that 550 is a huge sum for a Lego set, but look at it from another angle, its not that expensive as a huge decorative sculpture ;-) UCS On !! *yoda* like what yoda said. it's not a toy. it's a work of art. for $500 it better be. ;-) in 10 year's time it will be a classic and then we'll see who's sorry. ;-) Quote

casewindu Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 how many sets will have certificates? ive also just realised something on the discription underneath the pic on lego.com With over 5,000 pieces, this is the biggest LEGO set ever made! Model is built completely to minifigure scale - minifigures can sit inside and man the controls! Landing gear provides a stable base for model to stand on! Ship is over 33" long, 22" wide and 8" tall! (84cm long x 56cm wide x 21cm tall) Radar dish rotates and elevates and boarding ramp extends! Top and bottom quad-laser turrets rotate for realistic play!<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Cockpit top can be removed to access minifigures! Includes 5 minifigures: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa! This special set also includes a display card with detailed ship specifications! dont know about anybody else but i certainly wont be playing with this set: me : wooo woooo little sis : let me have ago! me : ok then but be careful! sis : weeeeeeee i wondeer if it can fly! ( throughs it down the stairs) me: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Quote
natelite Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 dont know how many sets. my guess is any orders placed b4 march 31st because that is the cutoff for pre-order. whether tlg is going to extend the offer or not is anybody's guess at the moment. if they do, then the total number of first production sets will increase. otherwise....bye bye certificate!
