Kristel Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Blossom Bunny's flower shop is the place to go to in Fabuland for fabulous flower arrangements. Downstairs in this building is the flower shop, stocked with enough flowers to make any bouquet or arrangement you desire. The two upper floors are Blossom Bunny's modest apartment, which includes a kitchen and a cosy bedroom. The backyard has a place for Blossom Bunny to park her car, a couple of flower beds, and apple tree, a comfy bench and a table. A great place to relax during her breaks and on the weekends. The shop has a big counter for wrapping up the flower arrangements and a wide selection of flowers to choose from. Blossom Bunny's kitchen was inspired by Catherine Cat's Kitchen (3646). As always, carrots are on the menu for tonight's dinner. Blossom Bunny's very cosy bedroom was a little hard to photograph, so the last photo is of her bedroom furniture instead. More photos available on flickr! I set myself the challenge of building an 'old school' Fabuland Building using no Fabuland pieces (as I don't have any). In hindsight, I wish I had at least bought one or two of the characters, not only to include in the photos, but also because I became quite fond of the theme while doing my research for this contest! Rufus Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I love how you've used standard bricks to recreate the FABULAND theme. And the furniture is both FABULAND and Classic Town. Quote
Darkdragon Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Excellent work Kristel. I am really getting a true Fabuland vibe from this and without any figures or theme parts, that's just amazing. Quote
L@go Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Of all the buildings I've seen thus far, this is the one that is the most true to the original Fabuland feel - and without using the original Fabuland elements. That's incredibly well done, and a terrific idea. I especially like the windows and how you've recreated Fabuland parts: The tree, the bench, the sink and the bed - all superbly done. Wow! Quote

That is exactly what I was hoping to achieve. Hinckley Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 What a classic! I like your technique for non-FABULAND FABULAND parts. What a fun entry. Beautiful build and great simple FABULAND spirit! Quote
Cecilie Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I love how you're recreating the Fabuland parts with bricks, it's so adorable Quote
Rick Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Great build Kristel. You really managed to keep it "simple", but with great attention to detail nonetheless. I really like how you combined all the basic colours, they really contrast nicely. Excellent work on the custom sticker too. Quote
dr_spock Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Excellent job capturing the Fabuland look and feel. And without any Fabuland parts too! Quote
Kristel Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Thanks, Hinckley, Cecilie and dr_spock. I'm glad you like it! Great build Kristel. You really managed to keep it "simple", but with great attention to detail nonetheless. I really like how you combined all the basic colours, they really contrast nicely. Excellent work on the custom sticker too. Thanks, Rick. The sticker was a challenge because I don't normally play around much with fonts. Also, the first version of the sticker was rounded, more consistent with the signs in the Fabuland sets. Unfortunately, my scissor skills weren't up to the task! Quote
