def Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 DAY FIVE The school is quiet. "Where is that absent-minded little boy?" Mr. def swats his palm lightly with his bat. Li'l Pie pops in the room. "I'm a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm.... Sir, sir, I'm sorry I'm late, I... wha, where is everyone?" "I have bad news for you. They're all dead. Every last one. You were mayor, correct? Well, the thing is, you were actually a special, secret role, called the reverse mayor. If you were targeted for death, you would win, and everyone else would lose. I couldn't tell you, since you would have gone out of your way to win by dying, and that wouldn't be fair, would it?" A pause for dramatic purposes. "Congratulations." Li'l Pie is taken aback. "Reverse mayor? What a stupid concept for a role. But it's a win, and a win's a win. I guess it's good, even though I betrayed my whole team in a way..." Mr. def calls him again. "You gullible twit. I would never allow such a foolish role in my game!" At that moment, the rest of the class bursts in. "APRIL FOOLS!" Li'l Pirate Dave clutches an afroed cranium. "And we brought that scum bum Oz-lander too! Scum bag!" Mr. def coughs. "Ah yes, he was town." Li'l Pie turns to the camera. "What the Hell is going on?" At that moment, Li'l Kiel scoots into the room. "Hey guys, look what I found! Li'l Pandy's head, just, you know, lying there." "Hey, do you think I could have her hair? I know a great use for it for an upcoming con. I wanna stickle my head in it." Mr. def sighs, "Yes, yes, it's fine. She won't be using it anymore, and it'll be a fitting tribute to yet another member of the town." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day five has started. Voting will start in roughly 27 hours, day end in 75. No need to vote for a mayor today! To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Scum, while the Scum needs to (knowingly) outnumber the Town. Third-party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting will be done in the following format; Vote: Player. Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format;Unvote: Player. No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. The player with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the mayor will decide the lynch, through their vote, or by PM if necessary. Voting is mandatory. Failure to vote will incur a vote penalty the following game day. 2.5. A mayor will be elected in the first 24 hours of the game day one. Voting for the mayor will be done in the following format:Mayor: Player. Unvoting for the mayor will not be allowed. One may vote for themselves. The mayors single duty will be that of tiebreaker. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reachedafter 72 hours. In the case of a unanimous vote, the day may end 24 hours early. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 20 hours of the night stage. 3.5. Players may not target the same player two nights in a row, and may not target themselves. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as any that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the host via PM. That includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 5.5 Do not use the wording of the host to publicly back up your claims. Statements about the game made before the game started are fair game, but those made in game should not be considered either way in strategising. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the host via PM. Do not spam the hosts's PM box. 11. Violation of the above rules may result in a 5 vote penalty vote penalty per every 4 living players against you, and death upon further offense.
Peanuts Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 April's Fool? On March 31st? Anyway, I don't like it that we've lynched yet another townie. Also, the second night in a row without a vig kill, I guess that means the vig is either dead or has been converted. And yet, we are still there, which means that we haven't been outnumbered yet. I'm really starting to get paranoid and believe that I have trusted the wrong people all along...
Hinckley Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I'm really starting to get paranoid and believe that I have trusted the wrong people all along... I agree with this. I was fairly confident ChromeKnight was Scum based on some things I learned behind the scenes. I was hesitant to reveal some of that since if he was Scum, it would've connected the teams. Palathadric, despite what mr. def thought, did attempt to draw Scum out by private conversation. The biggest bite came from Chromeknight. Obviously, it was also a sting. So, two Townies gave their lives to find the names of the Scum and they were just talking to each other! On top of that, his analysis was weird and someone came to me with an odd defense of Chromeknight which, honestly, seemed pretty Scummy. So, trying to find things out in private is as dangerous as it is in public, since we don't know who's Scum and who's a Townie trying to stop the Scum from connecting.
Rick Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Anyway, I don't like it that we've lynched yet another townie. Also, the second night in a row without a vig kill, I guess that means the vig is either dead or has been converted. And yet, we are still there, which means that we haven't been outnumbered yet. You "don't like" that we've lynched another townie? I think most of us felt that it was absolutely essential to lynch a scum yesterday and I was pretty confident we were doing just that. We might very well be here because the scum teams haven't united yet. So, trying to find things out in private is as dangerous as it is in public, since we don't know who's Scum and who's a Townie trying to stop the Scum from connecting. So, what do you suggest we do? Are you trying to discourage private conversation now?
Hinckley Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 So, what do you suggest we do? Are you trying to discourage private conversation now? I don't know. I'm not trying to be pessimistic. I still think Night Actions should be discussed behind the scenes but only with people who are verified as Townies. We thought we had something yesterday. It was based off of conversations. There's more that I've learned that is based off of more solid evidence but I have to wait for verification on things. This is aggravating and I don't understand why everyone isn't online right now when I want to talk about things. What is it? A holiday?
Endgame Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Drat drat drat drat drat. This isn't good. At all. What I've been curious about this entire time - what are our Masons up to? They are meant to be the replacement for our investigators, and can essentially either clear or condemn someone's alignment. Is there some sort of network of masoned townies we know nothing of? And if so, why are they allowing so many townie lynches? We're essentially in fail or fly mode, at this point. We can't be so conservative anymore - if we're going to make progress, we at least need one solid bit of info to lean on.
Peanuts Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 We're essentially in fail or fly mode, at this point. We can't be so conservative anymore - if we're going to make progress, we at least need one solid bit of info to lean on. Or one solid bit of info will be the last thing the scum needs to wipe us out...
Endgame Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Either way, we were afraid that we were in the endgame yesterday - now, we may be even deeper in it. If we don't find a scum, this may very well be the end.
TheBoyWonder Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Not good, not in the slightest. Was Pandy a meta game kill? Quite possibly. But ChromeKnight? Seriously. I was convinced she was scum. Not good.
Hinckley Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 But ChromeKnight? Seriously. I was convinced she was scum. Not good. I was convinced that Chromeknight was a dude. I need to start paying attention.
TheBoyWonder Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Oh god. How did I make that mistake? His Heroica character is a female, so I just assumed she was a female.
CMP Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Li'l Pandy!! Damn it, she owed me a quarter! ...Oh, and she was also town. Not good, not in the slightest. Was Pandy a meta game kill? Quite possibly. But ChromeKnight? Seriously. I was convinced she was scum. Not good. Don't worry your sleepy li'l head about it. You're next up on the list. All your worries will end before tonight. I mean, unless you want to try and defend yourself, of course.
Walter Kovacs Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 If things looked bleak yesterday for us townies, they look downright impossible today. Two more good, loyal townies dead, and still no solid information to go on. To make matters worse, even if we do get solid information, if we release it publicly, or even PM the wrong people, then the scum teams are likely to be able to use it to unite, and then we truly will be up shit creek without a paddle.
Capt. Redblade Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Anyway, I don't like it that we've lynched yet another townie. Also, the second night in a row without a vig kill, I guess that means the vig is either dead or has been converted. And yet, we are still there, which means that we haven't been outnumbered yet. Do we know if the vig would lose their ability upon conversion? Because if not then it's more likely they're dead. Edit: never mind, they would. I'm starting to feel like we're damned if we do and damned if we don't here. If we discuss solid leads openly, we allow the scum to find each other. If we talk in private we risk lynching townies who are trying to disguise themselves as scum, and yet these methods of communication are all we have. I agree with Li'l Hinck, this is frustrating.
Nightshroud99 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 If things looked bleak yesterday for us townies, they look downright impossible today. To make matters worse, even if we do get solid information, if we release it publicly, or even PM the wrong people, then the scum teams are likely to be able to use it to unite, and then we truly will be up shit creek without a paddle. (There needs to be a slow clap emoticon) Let's just all give up then, there's is obviously no way we can win as town.... Right now, I'm suspicious of everyone; some more than other's. And, I also know that I and the town are really screwed if we can't see the truth and lynch a scum today. I recognize that everyone I go after is town, I feel like a complete and utter fool but I won't quit. Boywonder, I passed you off from the get-go because of your usual naivete; but I can see that you have outplayed everyone. Hinckley, nothing you have said has sit right with me since day 1, but because of fear of how influential you are I didn't bring anything up. Walter, today's statement that you made is stupidly scummy, I hope other's can see this too. Rick, I also see you as scum now. Heck, arguing with Hinck in thread, right now, is a brilliant maneuver. It's like you too are publicly gloating. Oh me, oh my, whatever shall we do? Come on, you two are acting like you don't care about how f**cked we are now. I can see through your false veneer of towniness. That's four people I am confident are scum right now. If town still has the numbers we can lynch one, I recommend Hinckley or Rick because they are smart and have been running this game from the get-go. Or, listen to their lies (again) and lynch me. Then lose tomorrow. You can clearly see how well we have been doing under their subtle leadership......
TheBoyWonder Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Strong allegations there Nightshroud. Accusing me of outplaying everyone, and Hinckley and Rick being Scum Supremo's. CMP,I rather hope you don't proceed on a lynch of me. I feel Nightshroud/Peanuts of being greater targets. Nightshroud for the audacity of his accusations today, and his suspicions of Cecile, when that night she got murdered.
Hinckley Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Or, listen to their lies (again) and lynch me. Then lose tomorrow. You can clearly see how well we have been doing under their subtle leadership...... Can you elaborate on the allegations you've made? And why would you be lynched today?
Endgame Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Can you elaborate on the allegations you've made? And why would you be lynched today? I'm assuming he thought that the allegations made would cause people to lash back at him, but I'll allow him to speak his own mind on this matter. Though delivered rather bluntly, Nightshroud makes a valid point - we need to re evaluate the town core. To be honest, Hinckley, from your other town performances I've observed, just giving up so utterly seems a bit uncharacteristic.
Hinckley Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 What makes you think I'm giving up? That's far from what I'm doing. Giving up isn't in my vocabulary. The night results were just incredibly frustrating, that's all. Sorry if my first post was a bit pessimistic. I think we've got something solid for today, though. I'm just waiting to confirm a couple of things.
CMP Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Don't be hasty, Li'l Hinck. I'll be amazed if we're not already outnumbered today, be careful what information you make public. I've still got vivid memories of EB Mafia I.
Hinckley Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Don't be hasty, Li'l Hinck. I'll be amazed if we're not already outnumbered today, be careful what information you make public. I've still got vivid memories of EB Mafia I. I wouldn't reveal anything that would confirm Scum, publicly. The Scum may need only the slightest information or the tiniest bit of confidence to connect. However, don't be so pessimistic. Mr. def carefully re-structured the game so we'd have a better chance this time.
Zepher Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Here's a possibility. I think the two scum blocks have already found each other, and are purposely making sure that we don't bring anything out into the public. Quite frankly, we need a kill. People keep scaring us into not doing anything with the results we're getting, but we really need a kill. Now, I'm still not suggesting that we reveal anything... but the scum would NEED to have had a successful conversion EVERY night to be ONE MORE player than the town right now. (4 scum at the beginning-1=3 scum+4 potential conversions=7 max total of scum). That seems unlikely. That changes tonight, so if the masons have found any leads, it would be extremely smart to pass it on to a vanilla trusted townie and then have them come forward with it. I will even volunteer myself. If you have found anything but don't want to risk a member of the masons, tell a vanilla mason to tell me, and I will tell the town. The balance will shift tonight (potentially), so we must implement this today. Even if we don't, we have to make a correct lynch today. Hinckley has been pinging me forever too, and I keep going forth between interesting town play and scummity scum. Even his two posts today make no sense: "I think we've got something solid for today, though. I'm just waiting to confirm a couple of things." and "I wouldn't reveal anything that would confirm Scum, publicly." He's implying he's using night actions to tell us a scum... but then that he will not reveal said scum in such a way that it will be public? How? What?! Explain how that makes sense, Hinckley. Alternatively, of course, this strange block of people who trust each other could be the masons, and I could be grasping at straws. I just have seen a unified front, and am not pleased with it.
Hinckley Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 He's implying he's using night actions to tell us a scum... but then that he will not reveal said scum in such a way that it will be public? How? What?! Explain how that makes sense, Hinckley. If I said that there's some evidence someone needs to be lynched and it must be put to the test and then gave a name, do you think that would give the Scum enough confidence to contact that person?
Hinckley Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Here's a possibility. People keep scaring us into not doing ... strange block of people who trust each other could be the masons, and I could be grasping at straws. I just have seen a unified front, and am not pleased with it. You came to me in private to defend Chromeknight. Yet, you fish for support of my lynch in public. Whenever you've done so, I've asked specific clarifying questions which you don't answer.
Zepher Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I believe very strongly you are either a mason, or a scumbo. The defense for Chromeknight I gave (which was, by the way, correct) would have been useful if you were a mason, but not at all harming anything if you were scum. So it was a gamble, yes. You have a group of people who you seem to coordinate with. So you're in a group. Either masons, or scum. You've led us to 0 correct lynches. It seems more likely that you are scum.
