I am, but it is a new one, not an existing one.

It is actually the first supercar I have ever made from Lego...

And it is white

Looking forward to it!

I will probably build a white supercar next :sweet:

I'm working on getting all the parts together for the Ferrari 458. But, my flex axle collection is not as extensive as yours Jim :sceptic:

Hehe. You don't that many btw.

I have gathered all red and PF parts for the Ferrari 458. So far so good.

Anyone else building a Supercar MOC at the moment?

Actually, I also gathering parts for ''Red Spider'' ....

Now I have all the PF parts, the panels, beams and the flex axles ..... still need some non-technic parts, and other common parts ...

Though I have a question .... what do you guys think, which rims are better looking .... Enzo's or Fiorano's ?

I'm actually gathering parts for the Phantasm Twin Turbo and Dikkie Klijn's Mclaren. I have like 35 percent of parts for both, and I'm not sure which one to build first

I wanted to build a yellow Murcielago, started buying the parts off BL, then yesterday I found one readily built and at a price I could not pass up. So I got it.

Took it apart, washed, and now rebuilding in LDD first. Gonna be a loooong build.

Building http://rebrickable.c...o/red-coupé-v12 soon, and my old 8880 with some new white parts.

This is a great MOC. One of my favorites. I built it a year ago and it's still on display. Lipko is an awesome designer. Build his Audi too, if you get a chance.

Hey Jim,

How's the build going?

I'm still gathering the pieces (red flex axles may be a sticking point :sceptic: ) but, I am tempted to start before I have everything.

Hi,

I have 99% of the parts gathered from my own inventory, which took quite some time. I only need to get me some "regular" LEGO parts, like plates. I don't need to order any parts, so I am good to go.

Next week I have a couple of days off so that might be a good time to start :sweet:

I'll have to dismantle Madoca's Pickup before I can start anything. I'm loath to do that, as its such a good MOC.

I will probably start building tonight. My end goal will be to control it via SBrick and do a "Ferrari 458 Spider SBrick Review"

Question; shall I create a WIP topic and review along the way? Or publish it when I have a full review?

Great, Jim! Cannot wait to see it, applause in advance!!!

And then we ask blakbird to make the upgrade instructions.

I think a WIP review would be cool, especially if you build it first with PF receivers and then show the process of converting it to SBrick.

+1 wip review topic.

And another vote for the WIP updates.

And I love Blakbird's idea for recording the conversion process.

Jim ... do you ever regret opening things up to a wider audience?

Has anyone else had issues building the v12 Coupe?

http://rebrickable.com/mocs/lipko/red-coupé-v12

The fake engine seems to "catch" while rotating, clicking once every revolution. I've dismantled the engine block and will be reassembling tonight, but does anyone know how to avoid this? (instructions are quite tricky, and the fake engine is pretty awkward to install).

Hmm... I don't see what could be the problem. The engine blocks are only supported with the standard V-engine brick part from one side, but there's nothing stressing the engine blocks. Are there any pins sticking out that touch the engine blocks? Could you post a picture or two about the engine bay in the current state of the build?

Sounds like it could be friction in first gear. I've noticed on some of the builder's car mocs that I've built, the gearbox usually works ok until the engine is added and that last bit of friction causes problems in first gear.

The biggest problem is the length of the engine block. A very annoying property of Lego is that the assembled engine shaft is shorter than the assembled engine blocks which can cause quite noticeable friction.

And that could lead to the problem Meatman describes.

As far as I can remember, in contrary to the LDD file, I used this main shaft scheme:

'..''. instead of '.'.'.

I hope that's clear...

I built it with no problems. This is one of the most sturdy MOCs I've ever built. Check all of the gears. Make sure none are to tight against the lift arms/connectors

@lipko: The piston diagram didn't, but the comment about comment about the engine shaft helped quite a lot. I went through the pistons and pushed everything as tight as possible, and there's no catching. Thanks—this MOC is proving good fun. Very different build than any Lego sets—very, very sturdy chassis too. :)

Finished building this yesterday. I've only followed official Lego instructions before, and it's certainly a very different experience to that. It's also BIG—surprisingly so. It's as long as 42039 but about twice as tall. It felt like the biggest thing I've built. 42009 didn't seem this big (though it's more complicated).

Thanks @lipko, great work. Very enjoyable.
