What does that mean?

Anyway... I'm excited to see Lesovikk... but Electric Taurahk might be a bit greedy.

It means that I tought we would see him earlier. Well, hopefully he will post it.

Guys, how do you know he wears a green Faxon? I just read that on BS01, but how did they get it?

EDIT: This clarifies everything.

From me. (EDIT: Actually, it's lime green, not just green.)

[........]

My goodness. I've received so many PMs in the last few days it isn't funny. I'm going to post it, y'all. I just had to receive it first. Once I got it (And I just got it yesterday afternoon [For I do have school], by the way), I had to check with Greg for some things. Now that those have been confirmed, I shall post it in the Sets forum later today. (As munkeymunkey did say it could have it's own topic. And it is a set picture, so that's the appropriate forum.)

His Faxon is lime!

He's holding the image? Now that's not nice.

Well I'm sure the thousands of PM's he will get from eager BZPers will break him haha.

But really, why is he keeping it like this. If I sound like I'm jellously mad, that's because I am *sad* .

Lesovikk-

More lime green, eh? Well, I don't mind. It sutes the storyline I guess. I'm glad he's not too mutated. He still has a Toa-ish look, IMO. I'm curious as to how the chest is built.

Vehicle-

I love it! Very Star Wars-y. I think its better than the Ussanui, IMO. It looks like it pulls him through the water. Very interesting.

Overall-

I like him... Not the best set of 2007, but it's pretty close, IMO. 8/10... He's mine... Thanks ET!

Bfugly.

Eh.

Does he have a weapon? If not, using the vehicle as a berserker is always cool.

My thoughts:

Landing gear like the Ussanui? I'm cool with that. And the vehicle is totally accurate... I mean, actual divers use tech like that. And since it isn't outlandishly large or complex, you can't really say it's not Bionicle. Looks more Bionicle than the Ussanui, which was a flying motorcycle. Nice built-in Cordak Blaster, too... doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Say hello to "Replacement Kongu Mahri". This is actually ten times better than that set, despite it not being completely impressive. The Faxon (horrible name...) looks very different from Hahli's, and since I'm "eh" about buying that set, I can live with this baby. Nice black pipe coming from the side, and the torso looks a bit unique...

So this, Karzahni, and Maxilos are the three sets I want to buy this year. Yep.

The first picture of Lesovikk that I had in my mind was a cool, tall, noble looking Toa clad in a dark green armour, wearing a Kualsi of the same colour (just like Defilak's). But after hearing that Lesovikk was mutated I was worried. I feared him to be an ugly Kongu Mahri clone (and Kongu Mahri already has so many things wrong with him that I'm not even going to bother listing them all). But was I proven wrong! This is everything that Kongu Mahri should have been. I love the lime Faxon (I loved it in navy blue, too- the Faxon is one awesome mask), I can't see much of the design, but he looks great right now. I am so happy that he's not mutant looking, unlike the Barraki. Really, I feared an ugly beast like Toa, like a sort of Hordika. This is the best Toa of Air since the legendary Lewa Mata/Olda, and that comes from a guy who considered them the coolest ones from 2001 to 2003 (then I moved to Ko/Ga guys/gals). Still, this year Lego brings new justice to green sets...Ehlek, Defilak, Nocturn, Lesovikk, Karzahni (no, I won't include Kongu).

And the vehicle is great, too: it's like someone took the Ussanui and redesigned it into an awesome war submarine...this is where the Cordak blaster actually fits.

Overall a wonderful set, definitely in my wish list. Thanks ET. :-)

So where's the picture he called "sweet"?

X D

Oh well, more lime parts is good anyway.

However, as in, "I'm going to go to the store and buy this" kind of "sweet"?

HELL no.

I'll just Bricklink 2 copies of the lime mask.

That's exactly what I was thinking you would have said. You and your lime. :-D

Agreed. Fantastic Green Sets this year, to make up for the past ones. And, just like I said, if you don't want to buy Toa Kongu, this is your replacement.

Agreed. I'm just shocked senseless by thing thing. And not in the good way either. For once, I'm actually at a loss for words! I don't like the Mahri at all and this is definately not helping my views of Bionicle these days. I guess the only thing that somewhat redeems it is the massive array of weapons in the "vehicle" (That IS a vehicle, right?), but otherwise, this looks wretched.

I don't see how being a good replacement to a critical failure of a set makes this a good one on its own. This guy's supposed to be from the first Toa team - LEGO had a golden opportunity to make another variation of a Toa build. What we got is a Kongu Mahri v1.1, crappy vehicle included. One merit I see to his set is that the silver Pridak blade is at least something new to give Kongu in place of his double chain-guns. And I suppose the Hahli mask in green as well. Even so, every other 'special edition' Toa set did something differently than the others released that year. Takanuva, Lhikan, and Iruini were gold plated with new masks and new weapons (actually different molds!), and their vehicles/mounts didn't suck, either. I won't pretend that their builds were totally unique from their respective years' Toa teams (Nuva and Metru), but they looked like Toa that actually came from different teams. One look at this guy and I thought, "Why is Kongu riding a bunch of swords with a chaingun?" And really, that's all the "vehicle" is to me: a bunch of poorly-connected swords with a chaingun (an instant hit this year!) mounted on top. This guy has next to nothing to distinguish him as being from a different team - not even a new mask! He looks like just another Toa Mahri, which have enough problems of their own as is. I was hoping I'd be able to defend this set for myself like many others, but sadly, LEGO gave this set little to redeem itself.

Don't get me wrong - I'm by no means an instant nay-sayer on the new Bionicle lines. I've hung out and read a lot of the arguments of Vader and Ravensdorn, and while I see where they're coming from, I tend to disagree. I've followed Bionicle since 2001, and I'm still happy with the way things are going. I'm a fan of the Barraki, I love this year's titans (Karzahni included), and I think even the Mahri have some benefits to them (new masks and weapons are always a plus for me). The only real disappointments I consistently have are in the system sets, which have looked terrible since 2005 and haven't taken many turns for the better. Lesovikk, unfortunately, is a massive let-down that I had to speak out against. I'm still waiting to see whatever the poster found "sweet" about this image.

I'm a lover for lime green and hoverbikes (it just look like one, I know it's supposed to be some sort of submarine ;-) ) *wub*
