Kahgarak Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Bionicle characters rarely use their melee weapons. He will just shoot fire from it. Speaking of which, how is Jaller going to use his element underwater? Fire,in the case of this element, also means heat. So he could warm up the water, cooking the creatures in it?
Cyclone Titan Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Fire,in the case of this element, also means heat.So he could warm up the water, cooking the creatures in it? Ewwwwwwwww, lobster :-X
KMOI Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 But wouldn't that just cook him and everything in the general visinity as well? On the other hand, if the Toa Mahiri could control the elements like the original six, then it's plausible that Jala could just command the lava deep in the ground as a weapon. That would be a stretch though, considering no Toa has used this ability since the Bohrok saga ended. Anyways, I'm sure that's why these these monst... I mean Toa have massive, hulking gattling guns. It just compensates for the lack of powers they can use, though I'm sure every Toa could fare somewhat well underwater with their powers.
vahkimetru Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 My thoughts- Toa Mahri Jaller-My favorite. He's not that good (which says a lot) but I can't help loving the mask. The crab also is a nice addition, but it so <insert that tiresome argument>! The Chaingun is really out of place. In EXF or some theme like that I might not complain as much, but come on! This tihng is okay on a titan but waaaay too big on the Toa. Overall-8/10 Hahli-I'm not a big fan of blyue characters, but Hahli looks pretty cool. The wings are a bit weird, but the clear mask areas and lime green accents make up for this. Overall-8/10 Hewkii-Blech. Just blech. What happened to everyone's favorite Kohli playing Matoran? Why? Now he looks like something my school cafeteria cooked up! And the silver looks soooo out of place! He might have made an okay Barraki, but he is no Toa set! Overall-6.5/10 Nuparu-Not sooo bad. The silver does fit in here. However, the sheild is a bit out of place. We need a hand held tool here. Otherwise, he will not have a good means of attack, because his other arm will fall off due to the incredible weight of that freaking-huge chaingun. Overall-7.5/10 Matoro-I... I... I... HATE HIM! Lego drove me mad with the mish-mash design of the tank and backwards Inika limb design. THe mask doesn't fit in. I loathe him!!!! Overall-4/10 Kongu-One chaingun is enough. Two? Two? While I like the idea of this flying hotshot shooting two guns, I wouldn't be so happy if they were chain guns the size of the moon. Consequentley, the chainguns are huge. The tank on the back and mask really renew him. Overall-7/10 Toa Mahri Overall-7/10 Titans Gadunka-We've seen juniorization. We've seen Jack Stone. We've seen Galidor, but this? Noooo! It can't be! The Titans are falling away to the menace of juniorization. Way too thrown together! Overall-6/10 Maxilos-Hmmmm. Not bad, though something seems out of place about his kneck. The color scheme is not at all bad. I think that this might not be so terrible. I like the mask and the two Ignika for armor are pretty cool. Overall-9/10 Spinax-This I like! It reminds me of the Nexu from AOTC, and is built perfectley! My only gripe is the fact that Maxilos can't ride him. Overall-9/10 Hydraxon-My favorite. His mask resembles a skull, and the tools actually seem in place! Even the chaingun doesn't look so bad. I really like the color scheme, and he looks easy to MOC with. Overall-9/10 Titans Overall-8/10
Kahgarak Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 My only gripe is the fact that Maxilos can't ride him. Overall-9/10 Does a guard ride his guarddog? ;-)
vahkimetru Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 No, but they could have made him some huge monster...
Shakar Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 When I heard for the first time of M&S, I imagined a sort of Pridak like figure with the cape (Maxilos), riding a giant seahorse (Spinax). It would have been repetitive but I would have liked another rider and steed duo, with the underwater theme they could have done a cool sea creature. I really like Gadunka, but he's a frog. Not exactly a sea beast. Shakar
Optimax X Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Fire,in the case of this element, also means heat.So he could warm up the water, cooking the creatures in it? Who said that the inika have the same powers as the mahri? Yes i can see that problem, but don't you think lego will have thought of it and changed the toas powers acordingly?
Darkness Falls Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Who said that the mahri have the same powers as the mahri? Yes i can see that problem, but don't you think lego will have thought of it and changed the toas powers acordingly? ...What?
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Yah, it would be cool if there was fire underwater though. -ZotS
Cyclone Titan Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Wait, underwater volcanoes!!!!It could be Jallers power!!!
dillthepill Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 What I think: The Mahri, IMO, look great for the most part. Jaller looks great, and his crab is a neat addition. I also like his combat weapon. What is with the chain hanging from his left arm? Nuparu looks great, if not a little on the bad side because of his colors. I really like his shield and mask. I love Hahli's color scheme, and here claw is powerful looking too. The mask looks a little weird, and the chain gun clashes a bit, but for the most part everything is great. Kongu is a bit thrown together too me. The two chainguns just shows that TLC is running out of ideas, but I'll still be getting him. Hewkii is my favorite of the lot. His mask is the greatest of them all, and I think the spiky pieces on his legs look cool. His sword is nice too. Matoro is awful, even worse than Pridak. Matora has an ugly mask that kinda makes him look retarded, the claw looks awful, and what the @#$% is up with the tiny feet? I'm only getting him because I'm that kinda guy who usually gets all the sets or none of the sets. The Titans are superb. Gadunka is very cool, even if his mask is completely <insert that tiresome argument>. His claws are the best Bionicle claws I've seen, and I really like his color scheme. Hydraxxon also looks great. Maxilos and Spinax both look cool. Maxilos looks very threatening, I especially like his weapon. The chain gun mounted on his shoulder is also very cool. Does anyone know if Maxilos is a hero or villain? Spinax is cool too Over all, besides the playsets and Matora, I think TLC did a great job on Bionicle. :'-)
Kahgarak Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Who said that the mahri have the same powers as the mahri? :-D
Optimax X Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 ...What? :-D Opps, what i meant was who said the inika have the same powers as the mahri?
Shakar Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 New pics of Kongu's "can", thanks to Mask of Destiny: 1 2 I think it looks pretty good. Also, Kongu's mask looks better. By the way, do you think this topic should be pinned? There was another 2007 sets thread, but no one posts in it anymore, and this is becoming the place for conversation about the summer sets. I'll leave to the mods (and to Master Jinzo) this decision. Shakar
Optimax X Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Nice design, but my only concern...there is no obiouse way to open it!
Cyclone Titan Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Nice design, but my only concern...there is no obiouse way to open it! No, I think you have to get one half of it off.
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Sweet canister! But how are you supposed to open it? Kongu looks so much better on it. -ZotS
dviddy Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 New pics of Kongu's "can", thanks to Mask of Destiny:1 2 How very Megabloks! <<DV>>
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Heh, lets see if the kids from 2006 start bitching about these on many of the same scores I have with recent BIONICLE's :P
Shakar Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 More pics. Seems like I was right. Gadunka's neck moves... Shakar
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Ha. Gadunka's mouth is opened too wide in that pic. Do you know what I laugh at? GregF. he made Gadunka the new guardian of the Mask of Life. :-D How stupid is that? -ZotS

JINZONINGEN73 Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 Ooh. Those are cool canisters. They're FUNCTIONAL. Haven't seen that in awhile. *sweet* I liked the look of the Barraki canisters, but they weren't playable. The Mahri canisters are a throwback to 2001 and even Roborider days. Even earlier, the whole thing can be used, like the carrying cases of the Throwbots / Slizers. :-) Not so stupid, look at that thing, Lol. Come on, play nice. Yah, it would be cool if there was fire underwater though.
Kahgarak Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Not so stupid, look at that thing, god it could like swallow a Toa in 1 gulp!!! Indeed.Ugly does not always mean ineffective.
