XimenaPaulina Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I've gotta say it... and I'm not loving saying this... but you seem pretty town, actually. Same here, actually even before Walter revealed those PMs I'm already doubting my initial suspicion on him despite the strong incriminating evidence against him. At this point, personally, I would like to give Walter the benefit of the doubt, which leaves us to... But where does that leave us today? I think we still have some suspects to choose from. I suggest we wait for the collective decision of the town masonry (via Endgame), as I assume they know things better than us uninformed townies. What's important is even if we're on the outside looking in, we have to trust in their judgment and we'll do this lynch with a united town vote. Nothing is certain in this game, but if we're going to do something, we do it as one town, we vote together, take the risk together, win or lose this whole thing together.
Zepher Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Dave published all the mason information as of yesterday in thread at the very end, along with his personal thoughts. Rick was unable to be converted. Dave also accused Redblade, but without any concrete evidence. Redblade has been pinging me from the start too. Endgame, did you FAIL to convert anyone yesterday? That would be important to know NOW. I find it interesting too that Peanuts listed Rick as "confirmed town" or even, in his revised statement, as "likely town". Rick (according to Dave) is suspected of having some questionable night action. Rick has not commented on this evidence in any which way.
Rick Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I guess I should tell you everything I know right now, which is: -I was the one-shot lie detector, but on night 2, I wasted my night action on Foog to find out if he was really town. He was. Even though li'l Foog isn't an odd target at all, it's a very "convenient" claim. Why would you even claim to Hinck? I don't see a good reason for that if you're scum or town. -Walter claims to have blocked me on night three; I didn't get any confirmation that I was blocked.Unfortunately, Walter has never claimed to have successfully blocked another player who is still alive. I didn't have any night action, so that might explain why I didn't get any notification. Or he lied. Both is possible. I really don't know. Why do you even think you would get a confirmation you're unsuccessful if you didn't act that night? The entire case against me comes down to the fact I wasn't able to be recruited by the Masons, though I am not sure which night it was. I see it as proof that the Scum have a Recruitment Blocker, but everyone else apparently thinks that is too convenient an explanation. Apparently I also wasn't able to be Tracked one night (again, no idea which night), but if it was an even numbered night, I was blocked, so I would have been seen as a Vanilla. No one seems to be suggesting that possibility, either. It seems li'l Dave sent you the same PM he sent me after night 4: Why are you unrecruitable? I thought this meant the masons tried to recruit me on night 4, but I'm not so sure about the order now. They may have failed recruiting two nights in a row (I just don't know who they tried to recruit first). Everyone also seems to find it suspicious that I talked with Hinckley, a known Scum. Yet I don't recall anyone pointing fingers at him until Day 5. Is it a crime to get duped by a scum? Especially one as persuasive as Hinck? Apparently it is, in this town. No, I don't find it suspicious, but what is it that you want to prove by posting all your PMs? You and Hinck are both really clever players, so it's not far-fetched at all to think you started a PM to be used as a defence later in the game. And it's not far-fetched to think you were both chatting to Dave I'm not suspicious of you being unrecruitable because, as I told Dave as well, there could be many reasons for that besides you being scum (the recruiter could be blocked or you could be blocked for recruitment), especially after your PMs with Dave and Hinck (assuming you're telling the truth). After your role claim, I would expect the masons to try and recruit you again, but it seems that either they didn't try again or they were unsuccessful again. The thing that does surprise me is that you were in contact with li'l Cecilie so early in the game and that, besides Hinck, you seem to be one of a few players to know so many power roles so early on in the game and, despite you saying you were in PM, you didn't actually seem all too reluctant to share your role with people. To the best of my recollection, you haven't really explained how you got in contact with Cecilie and why you decided to claim blocker to her. As for who I'd lynch? I think it's obvious I'd like to see Redblade put under scrutiny. I tried to block him for a reason. I think he has a scummy stench that I'll be able to smell in the afterlife. I don't think the masons have anything concrete on li'l Redblade (from Dave's post it doesn't seem to be the case), but everyone seems to think he's scummy, especially for his lack of contributions. I'm starting to believe you Walter, but I'd like to hear what the masons say. That's an interesting change of opinions. You seemed to strongly favour lynching li'l Walter yesterday, almost as if you knew he's town, whereas everyone else came to the conclusion we would not be rooting out the killers by lynching Walter and that keeping a converter around was much more dangerous. Moreover, there is a chance we stopped them if they never managed to recruit successfully (unlikely, but still), especially if li'l Walter is telling the truth about blocking li'l Wonderboy the night before he got lynched. Are you getting nervous for pushing for Walter yesterday now that li'l Wonderboy turned up scum? I already said this yesterday, but I'm also still suspicious of your attempt to sway the vote. At the time, the case against BoyWonder was 99% likely, while the case against Walter (if there was one) was the same as for any of us: 50%-50%. A known converter is more dangerous than a possible killer (I think I'm not the first to say this) but you were quite insistent that we get rid of Walter, who we weren't even sure was scum. It was a case against a less plausible target, based on flawed math, for no other reason than to give BoyWonder another day to do his dirty work. I'm starting to think either you or li'l Nightshroud are scum, or both, if you're playing this really cleverly. Rick, you weren't told you were the miller by chance, were you? Nope. I think the most likely explanation for my failed recruitment is that I was blocked for recruitment. Mr. def said each scum team would get a recruitment blocker (although he might have taken one out based on the smaller class size) and, much like li'l Walter, I think I'd make a good target for a recruitment blocker. Rick (according to Dave) is suspected of having some questionable night action. Rick has not commented on this evidence in any which way. I PMed Dave after his post yesterday (hopefully for obvious reasons when you read the PM below) and I told Endgame the same this morning: Why do you think I have a night action? I don't, I'm a vanilla townie. I didn't claim when you asked about it because I didn't know you were in the masons back then and I thought you could still be converted and knowing who doesn't have a night action is as informative for the scum as knowing who does have a night action (process of elimination). When I didn't get an answer to my question if the tracker found anything out at the start of the day and I saw your nomination for mayor, I figured the tracker had tracked me last night and found out I didn't have an action and hence trusted me with the position. It'd be a logical follow-up to the failed recruitment attempt a night earlier. You were never tracked; After the failed conversion, more pressing issues arose i.e. Hinck an Walter. I still trust you to be town, in fact my theory is that Kdm, Zepher and you are all town; you should definitely reach out to Endgame in private. I agree on Kiel, but that'd also make him an ideal conversion target. What makes you think Zepher is town? From the thread I understand you were talking in private. If I survive the night, I'll definitely contact Endgame. Zepher is too rash to be scum IMO!! KdM may be an ideal target IF he can be converted! I think he is not convertible. Again this is all speculations! Zepher is always like this. He gave himself away as scum on day 1 in Werewolf mafia by not reading his role PM. What he did on day 1 in this game reminded me of that, only that it now confirmed him as vanilla town and made him an ideal candidate for mason recruitment and scum conversion on night 1. But they both might have stayed away from him for that exact reason. How many scum do you think we're still up against (after we get rid of TBW)? 3? 4? If I understand you correctly your suspects are Walter, Redblade, Peanuts, and Nightshroud. More like Walter and redblade for sure; I am on the fence for everybody else!! I think KDM and you are town ... So Peanuts and Zepher could be either
Endgame Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Endgame, did you FAIL to convert anyone yesterday? That would be important to know NOW. I was successful at converting somebody last night. Now, Walter... Though I admit that the masonry saw you as the best lynch candidate earlier in the day, your defense has proved very convincing. Nobody in the Masonry really perceives you as scummy anymore, and there seems to be a few players here that agree with the notion. Now then, that does not mean we are high and dry. The Masonry proposes a lynch on Town Mayor, Rick. Why? -Rick was unrecruitable. -Rick was one of the last to vote for Hinckley - Walter was one of the first, and TBW in the middle. -Rick has been pumping at least two people for information since the start of the day - as in, tons of information. More then seems necessary. Rick in red, Endgame in blue. -'s next to something signifies a new message. -You may have seen it already, but I sent Dave this PM following his "revelations" in thread: Quote Why do you think I have a night action? I don't, I'm a vanilla townie. I didn't claim when you asked about it because I didn't know you were in the masons back then and I thought you could still be converted and knowing who doesn't have a night action is as informative for the scum as knowing who does have a night action (process of elimination). When I didn't get an answer to my question if the tracker found anything out at the start of the day and I saw your nomination for mayor, I figured the tracker had tracked me last night and found out I didn't have an action and hence trusted me with the position. It'd be a logical follow-up to the failed recruitment attempt a night earlier. I wasn't - and I'm still not - going to tell the scum I don't have a night action in thread, because we need to protect the tracker if they're still alive. Is there any new evidence on Walter's case? Did the masons try to recruit him again? Was he tracked? I think the case against him is strong enough, but there's of course a chance he was cleared last night. -Regarding Walter being tracked, was he seen targeting nobody or couldn't he be tracked at all? -The tracker was blocked. -I don't know at what point in the game it was and who knew about him being the blocker at that point, but he might have been set up by the real scum blocker (on the other hand, why not just block Walter then, that would also make his claim unbelievable). There are a lot of "red flags" surrounding Walter though. Also, another point in Walter's defense: He shares the same suspicions on Scum as the Masonry, so that is a point for him. Unless another huge defense crops up, the Masonry's collective vote is probably going on Rick - me included.
Peanuts Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I find it interesting too that Peanuts listed Rick as "confirmed town" or even, in his revised statement, as "likely town". Rick (according to Dave) is suspected of having some questionable night action. Rick has not commented on this evidence in any which way. Okay, let's revise that to "unconfirmed". I was assuming the mason was trusting him; apparently Endgame doesn't. Even though li'l Foog isn't an odd target at all, it's a very "convenient" claim. Why would you even claim to Hinck? I don't see a good reason for that if you're scum or town. Back then, I thought he had been inducted to the mason early in the game for metagamey reasons. I don't think it's any more conveniant than claiming vanilla, because right now I am just claiming vanilla, if you think about it. Why do you even think you would get a confirmation you're unsuccessful if you didn't act that night? It happened in previous games, and Walter claimed I could confirm what he said. But I have to say, Walter's PM chain with Hinck doesn't give me the impression it was faked, it's far too long and complicated. And I think we at some point agreed that Walter, if anything, would have been in the same scum group as Hinckley. And I can't imagine them actually conversing that much if they are in the same scum group. Which means, Walter isn't likely scum, damn. I'll just switch Walter with Rick in my previous list of suspicious people. I would actually prefer a lynch on Redblade over Rick, but if the mason thinks Rick is the best target, I'll be a sheep and follow them. Vote: Li'l Rick
Rick Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 -Rick was unrecruitable. I think I've said enough on this point and how it doesn't mean I'm scum. I even said I don't think it's enough to convict li'l Walter over. -Rick was one of the last to vote for Hinckley - Walter was one of the first, and TBW in the middle. The voting on that day opened in the middle of the night for me and I voted first thing in the morning. I can't help it that Mr. def changed the time he posted the thread, so I don't think this is a fair point to hold against me at all. The case by Pie was presented after I went for a nap and I voted for Hinck based on the information presented as soon as I could. -Rick has been pumping at least two people for information since the start of the day - as in, tons of information. More then seems necessary. The masons trusted me with the mayoral position yesterday and, after the PMs with Dave I quoted earlier today, I contacted you - as his successor as mason spokesperson - and li'l Kiel (someone he clearly trusted), to discuss what to do today, assuming the masons actually trusted me. What good could I possibly do with the information I was "fishing for" today?. Okay, let's revise that to "unconfirmed". I was assuming the mason was trusting him; apparently Endgame doesn't. Well, they trusted me enough to break a tie if it came down to it yesterday (and for all we know it could have been 5-5 yesterday and it might be 4-4 today) and I don't think anything has changed in the "case" against me since yesterday. They obviously didn't try to recruit me again. I hadn't been talking to li'l Hinck as long as Walter had been, but we were talking. I didn't think there was a point to it earlier, but I've copied all the PMs for you: We seem to have similar ideas so I figured I'd start poking you. Poke. There, you've been poked. How's it going? Are you Scum? I was wondering when you were going to contact me. Not sure what to think of you. You certainly are a lot more quiet than usual. No plays, nothing and you almost adopted my playing style. Do you think I was wondering when you were going to contact me. Not sure what to think of you. You certainly are a lot more quiet than usual. No plays, nothing and you almost adopted my playing style. Do you think we made the right decision with Scouty today? What do you think of Foog's weird statements at the end of the day? Scummy scum trying to reach out or a townie trying to lure the scum in? Stop saying things twice! I heard you the first time. Yes, I've been quiet as everyone keeps pointing out, but I don't feel quiet as I'm spending all of my free time on this game as I'm working 60 hour weeks right now trying to deliver a project on time. But hey, I could just take a day off to write some plays, huh? I can't write plays in this one. Anything I'm figuring it out, I'm trying to use it to build a network behind the scenes. Cornelius was a good one to bounce things off of. Too bad he was playing so far out in front. That's a good reason to be a bit quieter if you want to get anything done in this concept. I was afraid that Foog's statement was a Mason trying to contact the Scum teams since only Masons are in the position to really trick the Scum teams with verifiable backup. That's probably why he made that weird statement about waiting for the Masons to figure everything out. Sorry, EB's text input is acting weird on my tablet and apparently my PM was sent halfway through typing it. No work during mafia. Yeah, that's the crappy thing about this game. You can't publicly rely on night action results and being too townie will just help the scum in figuring out who the other scum are or get you killed. I agree that it's most likely Foog got killed by the vig and Corny was killed by the scum. Foog's smarter than too just be so blatantly scummy and it's too bad he didn't have time (as he said in thread) to explain himself yesterday. Interesting thought that he might have been a mason. What's Walter suggesting? Is he really asking PRs to come forward with results they have? Everyone's acting so scummy. Oh God, what?? We need to tell the allegory of Big Cam the blabbing watcher. Well, yeah, of course Walter we need to get together behind the scenes. It still struck me as odd though to point it out so explicitly in thread. I don't know what to think of Cecilie. She's really quiet in comparison to other games. Her post at the start of the day which li'l Penus highlighted suggests she knows Danny was killed by the scum. It could be because she knows the vig (or even is the vig herself) or because she's on the scum killers team. We don't want to hand the position of mayor to the scum. Is your firsts sentence missing a word or two? I don't feel that Cecilie is Scum...at least not yet. Why did Li'l Penus make a big deal out of that? I wonder if he thinks he's drawing out Scum when he could be exposing our vig. But, if that's the case then the Scum did kill Danny and that's megablocking hilarious. Can't this concept bring us more of that luck? I feel like we're spinning our wheels. That first sentence was a reply of sorts to Walter, just not in thread. His statements in thread made me "D'uh, of course we need to talk behind the scenes". No need to point it out so explicitly. He did something similar at the end of day one. I noticed the slipup - either by a scummy Cecilie or a Cecilie who knows about the vig - and I'm sure others saw it too. I agree it's most likely the latter explanation, but I feel it wasn't a smart move by Penuts point it out like that in thread. If they really killed a scum on night 1, let's hope they repeat it again tonight. I also don't know what to do in thread. Without anything to go on we might end up lynching someone like Pala, Nightshroud or Redblade, but some are almost too scummy to really be scum. It could be that they're part of a team of noobs of course. Geez, Rick, I finally get a second to read back over the thread and you've already made all the points that I would've made. Come on man, I'm busy. Tell me when you've already done my thinking for me so I don't have to waste the time. Have you been talking to Pandora at all? I had been talking to Cornelius and he said he "got a Townie vibe" from you. I do too. No, I haven't talked to Pandora, but her behaviour's off. But then again, whose behaviour isn't off? She was is "townie" mode on day 1, then nearly disappeared on day 2, and today she's doing the work for Dave in formulating a case against Peanuts. Almost like she's trying to steer attention away from other suspects. Are you talking to Walter? Her first post was just dumb fluff. It was a really odd statement to make about how Corny's death could be seen as a sign that the scum united. Almost as if she was trying to reach out to the scum. Not sure what to make of it, but I have that with a lot of things in this game. Walter makes odd statements in thread, like that reply about trusting Dave because of their PM contact. Are you talking to Dave at all? Yeah, I am. He told me his reasons for suspecting TBW (which I'm sure he told you as well). TBW claims to have targeted us. I think his roleclaim is megablocks. Did Dave tell you about the roleclaim? Do you mind if I tell Dave we're talking? Did he say anything to you about Walter? Yeah, he told me the same thing. Bodyguard, yeah right. I think he may be the scum converter, which is what I told Dave as well. He says Walter claimed to be the town blocker, but based on night action results from last night he expects him to be the scum blocker. Not sure what those results are though. Feel free to tell Dave we're talking. I think TBW may be the mason conversion blocker. I know Walter claimed that and I really thought he was. I don't know the results either but he really wants me to just trust him on it. I'm trying to because I think he's got a good source. He keeps saying he trusts someone 100%. I hope he means he's a Mason and they have a couple PRs in it. Ok, so either converter or recruitment blocker, but I just can't see TBW being town. Walter claimed mason conversion blocker and you think he's a mason? Dave says Walter claimed town blocker and he thinks (based on some night action results) he's actually the scum blocker. I'm confused. Walter claimed conversion blocker? When? It seems I misread your last PM. I thought that's what you were saying. I think TBW may be the mason conversion blocker. I know Walter claimed that (I thought Walter had claimed mason conversion blocker) and I really thought he was. I don't know the results either but he (who's he? Walter?) really wants me to just trust him on it. I'm trying to because I think he's got a good source. He keeps saying he trusts someone 100%. I hope he means he's a Mason and they have a couple PRs in it. that was referring to the prior post from you where you said what Walter claimed. I'll look at it in a second. That's a might long second. Just look back at your post before my confusion started and try to explain that to me again. Especially what Walter had to do with TBW's mason recruitment blocker claim (?). I don't know. I've been really busy. I'm about to head to bed. It had nothing to do with the claim. I answered to both of your statements without directly quoting them. Have you been talking to Zepher at all? No, I haven't talked to Zepher? Why ask? I got a townie read of him (for quite obvious reasons), but that would also make him a prime target for conversion (and I think def said he'd give it to the scum if both the masons and recruiters would target him). He seems disconnected, but he's always all over the place, and if he's defending Chrome, it's really megablocking transparent. If he were defending him in private that'd be ten times Scummier. Did you see my last post? Zepher has been voicing suspicions just to test the waters for lynch support. That's not how he plays and that's not how Townies present suspicions. It's weird. "Who wants to lynch someone with me? Nobody? OK, never mind. Let's vote Nightshroud. " This game is so much more WIFOM than a regular game. "Am I scummy enough this way to not be expected of being scum, because they wouldn't lay it on so thick?" Yeah, those posts by Zepher look like he's fishing. And I think it's what Chrome was trying to do as well. I think he mainly posted that list in order to get reactions (and possibly identify the other scum team). We really have to get this right today. I think we're right with Chromeknight. I just hope we aren't already overrun. It's a shame we didn't kill one ourselves yet. Double Post: I don't even know if you know that. Scum killed Danny. Vig never targeted him. Walter said the same thing. I think you're a bit pessimistic thinking we're already overrun. If you're right about the scum killing Danny, the recruiters lost one on night 1 already. With 5 scum to begin with, I assume they were the team to start off with 2. So, if they recruited perfectly, they're up to 4 by now, so 7 in total. That means we're not overrun today. Most likely they successfully recruited once or twice. I really hope the vig will manage to take out a scum tonight and let's just hope the scum kill a recruiter again. We shouldn't be needing the scum to kill scum though. I'll just switch Walter with Rick in my previous list of suspicious people. I would actually prefer a lynch on Redblade over Rick, but if the mason thinks Rick is the best target, I'll be a sheep and follow them. I think li'l Redblade might be a target we can all agree on. Vote: Li'l Capt. Redblade (Capt. Redblade) As I've said earlier, it seems likely that either he or li'l Nightshroud is scum, and - assuming we get to see another day - we have a target for tomorrow lined up should li'l Redblade turn up town.
Walter Kovacs Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 There is plenty of time left before voting closes, and I think one vote is enough for now. I'll let Rick start talking before voting.
Walter Kovacs Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Apparently Rick posted while I was busy typing. And what I read makes me a little more reluctant to vote for him at this time. I agree, Rick. Redblade IS someone that I can agree with. Vote: Li'l Redblade (Capt. RedBlade) You might ask why I chose to wait on a vote for Rick, but jump on Redblade? I've made no secret that I think Redblade is scum. I did try to block him last night.
XimenaPaulina Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 It's quite interesting (and actually insulting) to see that even after the town masonry gave Walter the chance to "get off the hook" today despite having strong incriminating evidence against him, Li'l Walt goes on his own way to defy the masonry's call to the other townies to vote for Rick. Walter if you really are town, then you should cooperate with what the town masonry is planning. Don't you realize that your vote is a significant deviation and might cause the delicate balance of the numbers game to tip in the favor of he scum? Anyway, I'll do what a loyal townie should do, follow the lead of our trusted masons. Vote: Li'l Rick (Rick) I suggest the rest of the townies do the same. Like I said earlier, if we're going to pull through this we have to do things as a united town. We vote together, we take risks together, we go down or we win this whole thing together as one united town.

Like I said earlier, if we're going to pull through this we have to do things as a united town. We vote together, we take risks together, we go down or we win this whole thing together as one united town. Don't get so jumpy, KDM. There is plenty of time left in the day to get a little discussion going, and perhaps learn something. I've PM'd Endgame already, and I told him that I have every intention of following his lead on this vote. But as for now, all we have is his statement that he is going to vote for Rick. In my eyes, Redblade is far scummier than Rick right now, so I want to give Endgame a little food for thought, and give Redblade a reason to talk to us. I have other reasons as well. I attempted to block Redblade last night. So if Rick and Redblade are both scum, I would not be able to block Redblade, but could block Rick. I'd much rather not hamstring myself in target choice tonight if Endgame believes both are scum. I'd prefer to keep their killer at bay, if it's all the same. And if Redblade is the killer, I wouldn't be able to do that. And if it wasn't obvious, I have left my target for tonight in Endgame's hands. He knows who else is in the Masonic block, while I don't. So he is much better placed to help me target a scum. It's not like the masons think Redblade is town, either. Dave was the one who asked me to block Redblade last night. Just like Pie had me block TBW the night before.
Peanuts Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I think li'l Redblade might be a target we can all agree on. Vote: Li'l Capt. Redblade (Capt. Redblade) As I've said earlier, it seems likely that either he or li'l Nightshroud is scum, and - assuming we get to see another day - we have a target for tomorrow lined up should li'l Redblade turn up town. Hm, your conversation with Hinck doesn't "clear" (I'm using the word loosely) you as much as Walter, because you might have been converted and thus not in the same team as him. Actually, Walter might have been, too, but people assumed he would be on Hinck's team if he was town for whatever reason. Still, I see that this lynch might be a bit more complicated than yesterday's. As I said, I wouldn't mind voting for Li'l Redblade, and for now, I'll Unvote: Li'l Rick And yeah, 48 hours are definitely not going to be enough. Sorry, I don't get it. Why would you be able to block Rick, but not Redblade? The scum could block you independent from your target, couldn't they? Are you assuming that Redblade is their blocker?
Walter Kovacs Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Nope, I cannot block the same target two nights in a row. And since I targeted Redblade last night, he is off limits.
Nightshroud99 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Vote: Li'l Rick (Rick) I've been suspicious of you since day 5 when I re-evaluated what was going on. You're as cunning as Hinckley and given the evidence, and my own gut feeling, I think you're scum. It's true that Redblade has also been acting scummy, but I believe Rick is more manipulative and thus a bigger threat.
Capt. Redblade Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I've already explained my vote, I think. Vote: Li'l Nightshroud (Nightshroud99)
Peanuts Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Nope, I cannot block the same target two nights in a row. And since I targeted Redblade last night, he is off limits. Right, you mentioned that.
Walter Kovacs Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I've been doing a lot of thinking over multiple scenarios. And Li'l KDM is right, we will need to stick together if Rick is going to get convicted. If the vote ends up tied, he can save himself. Unvote: Li'l Capt. Redblade (Capt. Redblade) Vote: Li'l Rick (Rick) The only caveat is that Li'l KDM doesn't know something we don't. Like Rick is Town, and the scum have four members, and Rick's mis-lynch will send the Scum happily to the win. "Join us in the Rick bandwagon, and seal the Town's doom!" If we truly are in a Lynch Or Lose situation, the last thing we want to do is blindly follow one person, but use the brains God gave us and make sure our lynch is as good and well-informed as it can be. We know that if Rick is scum, there can only be three or less scum left. But if there are four scum, Rick CANNOT be one of them. Explanation for Peanuts: If there were four scum, and Rick was among them, they could vote for any townie, and by virtue of the Mayor-hood, break any tie in the Scum's favor. I'm not asking anyone to un-vote Rick. Just make certain you know it is the right thing to do.
Rick Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 If we truly are in a Lynch Or Lose situation, the last thing we want to do is blindly follow one person, but use the brains God gave us and make sure our lynch is as good and well-informed as it can be. We know that if Rick is scum, there can only be three or less scum left. But if there are four scum, Rick CANNOT be one of them. You're right that I can't be scum if there are still four scum left, a very likely scenario and one we were working from yesterday and thus makes it very likely I'm not scum (and not converted last night). If you're convinced I'm scum, then by all means vote for me, but don't pretend it's a "safe" option somehow. Even if it's only 5-3 today, if you lynch me it may all be over tomorrow. If the scum can successfully kill, which is likely if we believe li'l Redblade is scum because he can't be blocked, it'll be 3-3 tomorrow. You can bet the scum will be around to cast the first vote for mayor when day 8 starts. If they manage to successfully convert someone tonight, they won't even need the mayor position. So, the only situation in which this is safe is when there are only two scum left, which, I think we can all agree, isn't a very likely scenario.
Endgame Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Walter Kovacs, a simple question: Are you or are you not town?
Walter Kovacs Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Walter Kovacs, a simple question: Are you or are you not town? I am Town. I'm just trying to put all the pieces together so that I know who to believe. Right now there are only two people I can trust. You, and myself. I want to make sure that you have thought about every permutation. It looks like most players are going to follow your lead. If you think about it and still come to the conclusion that Rick is Scum, then by all means lynch him. But if there is doubt in your mind, is there anyone else who makes a better lynch target? That's all I'm trying to do. Make sure that the ones leading us have thought everything through.
Endgame Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 How in the world does that "if there are 4 scum it can't be me" argument work? Vote: Li'l Rick (Li'l Rick)
def Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 Vote Tally: Li'l Rick- 4 (Kiel, Nightshroud, Walter, Endgame) Li'l Nightshroud – 1 (Capt. Redblade) Li'l Capt. Redblade – 1 (Rick) Roughly 19 hours left in the day.

We know that if Rick is scum, there can only be three or less scum left. But if there are four scum, Rick CANNOT be one of them. That's really helpful Walter, mocking a trusted townie and one that even gave you the benefit of the doubt (both privately and publicly) despite the incriminating evidence against you. If you think I'm just "blindly following the masons" and not using "the brains God gave me", then I applaud you for your impeccable psychoanalysis skills *slow clap*. We all know there is nothing certain in this game, so every vote we take has accompanying risks, and I do know and understand the risks of lynching Rick, I believe it's worth taking and I'm willing to go with the rest of the town on this decision (win or lose). As for the "4 Town vs. 4 Scum so it's impossible for Rick to be scum" argument brought up by Walter and Rick (coincidence? or by design?), I think this is a desperate attempt by the scum to not only save a possible fellow scum in Rick but also to mask another distinct possibility that we're actually at 5 Town vs. 3 Scum and the scum are scrammbling right now to plant seeds of confusion among the town and prevent a united town majority vote. I personally believe that this is the case right now, and even at a 3-5 disadvantage, all the scum needs is ONE - just ONE - uncooperative townie vote to sway the voting in their favor by forcing a tie and using Rick's tiebreaker to win it for them. See how critical one townie vote is? That's why I couldn't emphasize enough how important each and every town vote at this stage (even at the risk of being branded as "sheep blindly following the leader").

I think you said it likely was 5-5 yesterday and you and the masons still trusted me with the position of mayor. Walter and I were merely pointing out that if that was the case, I can't be scum, because the scum would have won yesterday and, if I was converted last night, today. There's no new evidence that incriminates me since you voted for me as mayor, so I don't understand why you were fine with voting for me as mayor yesterday and want to lynch me today. I was also warning you that if it's 5-3 today, you better wake up early tomorrow and make sure that you're the first to vote for a townie as mayor tomorrow, because if the scum kill successfully tonight - which is likely if li'l Redblade is indeed scum and can't be blocked - it'll be 3-3 in the morning.

I know I'd rather vote for Redblade, but I also know that I'll follow the only confirmed townie, Endgame, and vote for whoever the mason considers the best suspect.
Zepher Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Vote: Lil' Capt. Redblade (Capt. Redblade) Speak up, Lil' Capt! I thought us Eartlings were supposed to be a fast speaking crowd.
