Posted April 9, 201311 yr The Hall of Armour is built based on the trailers and set images of Iron Man 3 that I gathered from the Internet. I have selectively removed the staircase next to the central podium to keep a clean feel of the set. The Hall specially features display cases, articulated mechanical robots, desks with SP players, armors and tools, computer monitor, arc reactor core ("Proof that Tony Stark has a heart"), and most importantly... Jarvis (the Computer mainframe)! I know the 7 suits of Armour are not accurate as I don't have Mark I to IV here, so let's wish LEGO makes them someday! April 9, 201311 yr Very nice MOC 'jaredchan'! Liking the Mark I suit. I have now seen two different versions of that in Lego. Edited April 9, 201311 yr by howie28
April 9, 201311 yr This is indeed awesome!!! I love how you tried to put some variation in the armours! Also superbe desk!
April 9, 201311 yr Very nice! And I didn't really notice about the missing armors until you pointed it out. But you've done a great job of re-creating the rest. I like all the detail, and those smaller tables are a great use of the flick-fire part. The design of the "cubbyhole" for each suit is very detailed, and very cool. But one thing is for sure, somebody has a lot of tiles. If there's something I don't like, it's the wall above the armors, it's just three large tiles, not curved, not angles, and not lined up that well. Perhaps if you had added a bit of a roof to the curved part and brought it straight up to the tiles, that would have helped. But really, that's not the main part of the MOC, and it's not that big of a detail. Great job though!
April 9, 201311 yr Very nice design, Jaredchan! I'm working on something similar, while waiting to get the IM3 sets to complete the line-up; an expansion to my previous version based on IM2. It will be interesting to see the differences between our two versions. I really like the detail you put in the tools, benches, tables and so on. They add a lot in a creation this big, where most of the detail would be limited to the background 'wall' otherwise. May I ask who the man with black hair at the far back in the first shot is? EDIT - After seeing your other MOC, I suppose that's Happy, right?
April 9, 201311 yr Author That is just awesome. Thank you! Very nice MOC 'jaredchan'! Liking the Mark I suit. I have now seen two different versions of that in Lego. Thanks! My Mark I is somehow a compromised solution due to lack of parts, a friend of mine has created a far more accurate one and I will post it here once he has published it :-) Re: LFCMessi, Damaximus, KZB, Tolkein Thanks for your compliments guys! I really appreciate them and I will keep building better MOCs~ Very nice! And I didn't really notice about the missing armors until you pointed it out. Anyway, the big tiles were added as they are in the original movie production set (my armour cubicles curved too much inward when compared to the real thing). Here's a comparison shot: More work on the wall panels later :-) Re LuxorV: Thanks for your compliments! Good luck with your creation and I hope you can finish it quickly (I foresee an explosion of Hall of Armour MOCs in the near future) ;-) Yup, that guy at the back is Happy!
September 21, 201410 yr I would say that he uses hinge plates at the bottom, you can see that pretty good in picture number 2. Plates look like this:
