DLuders Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) Here is Zblj's YouTube video (posted ~15 minutes ago) of his LEGO Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6: It is "Heavily inspired by the real thing; it features: 6x6 wheel drive 4x lockable differentials 2 speed tranmsission powered by 2 RC motors Live axle suspension on all axles Portal axles Measures: Length: 54cm Width: 21 cm Height: 22 cm Weight: over 2kg Max speed : Approx 1m/s, 3,6km/h Max torque on axles: Approx 400N/cm Front wheel steering angle. Over 45°" Edited April 20, 2013 by DLuders Quote
timslegos Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I love the two speed transmission, it seems to work really well. Off topic - the Warp Stabilizer tool (i am assuming you used this) produces a nasty jello and warp effect that makes the video somewhat nauseating to watch. If you change the stabilization method to position it prevents this. tim Quote
AKM_76 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Great build, obviously. What make me wonder very much is how you guys let your Lego's ride on dirt and on rocks which scratches them? Are you really don't care? Or you are so rich that you can order new parts anytime? When I was a child all my toys (not Lego) were very soon broken because I played them heavy, often outdoors. Now I'm 37, and I enjoy my quite new Lego hobby, and I love my toys, I keep them in their shiny mint condition. I plan to get some PF soon and to build some RC cars and sure I'll use them indoors only, low speed, not sure if I'll even let them ride on the floor Quote

z3_2drive Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 i've broken u-joints, ground gear teeth, and scratched panels/liftarms on the bottom of my MOCS, but it's all good fun and easy to replace...or leave scratched pieces and re-use them to show off your 'battle scars' only pricey parts I've rendered useless are the 3l differential cases which I don't have too many of and are pretty expensive if you keep buying them. Boxerlego Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Nice work! The suspension looks great. The soft springs makes the suspension look spectacular. Quote
Zerobricks Posted April 20, 2013 Author Posted April 20, 2013 Thanks guys. I removed the youtube stabilization POS, because it does more damage than good. Glad you guys like the truck. The only downside like the real thing is its apetite for fuel... Need more batteries! Quote
rm8 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Techicaly rich realization of nonusual car! I dont care that it doesnt look like copy, but technical part is awesome! Going to make russian blog post with your MOC;) You inspired me to build something with RCunit. Quote
Zerobricks Posted April 20, 2013 Author Posted April 20, 2013 Glad to hear that! Here are some more pictures: Quote
Doc_Brown Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 This is a fantastic model! I'm loving that 2 speed. So that's why I can't find any 6x6 dishes, you have them all! You have inspired me to continue my work on RC gearboxes. Cheers Quote
AndyCW Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 The power is stupendous. Considering the weight and complexity of the vehicle, its performance is remarkable. Quote
Junpei Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 There's a crown gear in the front! Could you have used a 36 tooth gear instead? That weak little gear might break. Quote
rm8 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Zblj, how you made that your HUGE Benz 6x6 Amg steered by RC unit's Servo? It is heavy and, servo's output rotates only 45 degres - it is not enough, or???? Quote
The Ghost Racer Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I really like this model, in particular its realism and great performance it can develop. Great work. Quote
skriblez Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Awesome moc. Really nice work with the details! Quote

Tubby Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Absolutely superb model. It looks and works just like the real thing. Great work. Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 No, the Output of the RC unit moves a switch. That switch is powered by drive motors and controls an M mmotor which steers. Quote
750ACE Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 When locking only the center diff what does this do to the performance? Quote
