UsernameMDM Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Series 5 minifigs for .50 cents each, and a draida for $7.50. Where?
Dervish Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Series 5 minifigs for .50 cents each, and a draida for $7.50. Oh my.. I'd hoard all the figs in sight for that price..
rakky Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 50 cents, thats so cheap. I wish we had anything even remotely like that in england.
krystalKING Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Where? A wal-Mart in the southwest, I can't remember the exact town, as I was focused on getting to where I needed. I bought six,and no good figs came up, and as for hoarding all the minifigs, there was at least two or three hundred.
Zeya Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Not a super deal, but a couple months ago during the holiday rush, I found the "brick apple" polybag in my local Lego brand store (west coast USA). In fact, I got it for free in my purchase (exceeding some threshold like $70). Looking it up on BL, it seems to go for about $13-$18. It seems it was originally a promo set for a Lego store opening in New York City. Must have been some overflow stock or something.

It would've only costed twenty dollars! Or I would buy literally all of the figs and sell enough on Bricklink to make a profit. Edited March 2, 2012 by purpleparadox

We got a couple of those (kids wanted to use them as gifts for their teachers). I see the "brick apple" set on BL, but that looks a bit bigger than what we have, and I'm 99% sure the ones we got didn't call themselves "Brick apple" or be in that blue bag. Think it was a yellow bag. However, I can't find them on Bricklink.
TheKingOfBuilding Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I found a 7052: UFO Abduction in a beat-up box on sale for £12 and 4866: Knight Bus (the 2011 version) for £14 - over half price I am planning on combining my 2004 and 2011 Knight Buses to make one movie accurate bus, so look out for it on the liscensed forums!

just2good Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 ...and you didn't buy it??? Damn I envy you Americans for your wild LEGO discounts... I'm personally waiting anxiously for POTC to go on clearance here as well, so I can finally afford those sets. The box was a bit beat up, and I didn't see much use for it. I might go back to that Walmart soon, once I get more money.
KristofBD Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 My best buy lately was the Kingdoms Mill Village Raid for 25 euros (Bart Smit in Belgium).
LEGO Guy Bri Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Over the past few years, upon returning to Lego, I've been trying to get my hands on 6339 Shuttle Launch Pad. After many lost bidding wars, high prices $70+ and just being a rarity on eBay, I finally got my hands on one! Of 7 bidders, I won it at $15.50. Not only was it cheap as h**l, it looks like it's brand new! The only downside was $14 buck for shipping and a lack of stickers. Still, a few orders on BL and I'll have all, but one, missing stickers, well under MSRP
JohnS Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I was today in local Tesco store and bought my first Star Wars Lego - 9674 Naboo Starfighter™ & Naboo™ - it was 50% off and it costed 4,99€.
moop Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Just dropped $500 on a 50+ lb lot of pieces and figs. They are already bagged and separated, but I'm still going to go through them to clean and sort. I think they are mostly complete sets like Arkham Asylum, Mos Eisley, etc... This is the biggest lot I've ever gotten but the resale value is enormous I'm thinking.
JamesBenjamin Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I found an 85% complete 1592 Town Square for $6 in a thrift store, spent about $15-$20 completing it on BL, then later flipped it on evilbay for $160 or so. That same summer I bought a mixed lot from CL that had a bunch of older Star Wars sets 99% complete and a 1/2 complete Flying Ninja fortress. I flipped the SW stuff for almost $300. I then mentally set aside that money and spent it all in the post Christmas clearance sales at Target and Walmart that year and got a TON of stuff on sale for 1/2 price or better; including 3x of the $80 PoP set ($40 each) and 5x of the $50 PoP set ($20 each), plus 8 of the Ostrich Race for $5 each, as well as single copies of almost the whole line of Space Police 3 and some misc other things. Those PoP sets were GREAT clearance part packs. All that tan, brown and nougat! What am I ever going to do with all those Dastans though! Lolz.
88high Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I got a 8376 hot flame RC MISB for only $99.99usd. The RC components normallys sell for $200.00+!

LegoDad Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Just last weekend at a garage sale, I picked up several bags of Legos for my son, but for my resale to continue my habit, picked up a 7623 IJ Temple Escape, 7781 Two Face Escape, and 7782 Batwing/Joker's Aerial Assault, all for $20! 7781 wasn't complete, and missing figs, but still an amazing deal. Last year at another garage sale, picked up a bin of Legos that included 7623 Temple Escape, 4502 X-wing, and 4501 Mos Eisley Cantina, also for $20.

SpiderSpaceman Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 (edited) Lets see... I've had a lot of half priced clearance huge values, which won't count, but dang if i'm not in love with the atlantis ruins or the alien conquest emperor or embo and aurra sing. I found a few damaged box deals. Slave One (current incarnation), $35. Catcycle city, $6. A (erroneous) shelf price honoring deal: Cool Cruiser, $22. Oh and one obscenely low clearance value: Clone Turbo Tank (current): $35. Edited March 19, 2012 by SpiderSpaceman

I got a MISB Lego Technic 8110 Unimog U-400 for $165.00 off of Amazon.com I also got a MISB Lego Racers Hot Flame RC 8376 for only $99.99 on Ebay.com Normally the Unimog would sell for $200.00+ Normally a USED 8376 would go for around $149.99
Orange Leader Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I finally found PotC's Cannibal Escape for only €20,- at Intertoys, which is the price I would only pay for this set. Average price of this set in the Netherlands is €32,- to €45,-, so I think I'm lucky enough to get it for that price. The White Cap Bay is only €49,- at the same store. That's a steal for what you get: mermaids and a lot of dark bley which can be used easily for Castle builders.
