CityBuilder Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 The beach, the smart car showroom, and the little park with the tennis court are amazing! Please show us more when your ready. Quote
beeman101 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Wow ! very inspiring build my friend. Just starting off with mine. Is this all possible without pick a brick ?? Also, any plans to add any skyscrapers?? Quote
melbs Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) Currently building the Parisian restaurant... more pictures when its done.... meanwhile.... Yes, the small car dealership was granted permit to operate down town!!! Its still modern BUT adhering to the "modularized" building design the mayor is adamant about. In fact they just finished construction, although it became smaller, business is already booming... Service has been very busy, next available booking schedule is next week. As it is, someone's engine is busted, his car is up the lifter, while another got nail in the tire and ran it flat going to the dealership, so the mechanic just got a new tire mounted and bringing it to the wheel balancer machine. Third car in service is a fender bender just in front of the dealership, the other car is currently being towed and will be brought to another dealership. Inside the showroom... sales agent is waiting for the first customer of the day... While the boss upstairs is thinking what to put in the second floor... From outside you can now see the performance rims and steering wheel display And very clean and clear view of the show cars View from the Mayor's office Edited July 28, 2014 by melbs Quote
melbs Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Later that day.... Sales agent and head mechanic say good bye to a new small car owner... Quote

melbs Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Wow ! very inspiring build my friend. Just starting off with mine. Is this all possible without pick a brick ?? Also, any plans to add any skyscrapers?? Show us yours as well. Unfortunately no, the trees, stoplights and sidewalks will be hard to source thru sets. Imho these things make a city feel alive as you can see from the pics before and after i put them Quote
Amiko Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Wow! Your town centre square with the grassy area is brilliant and caught my eye while I was browsing for layout inspiration. Terrific work! Quote
Peteris_Sprogis Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 great layout, keep UP the GOOD WORK! Quote
Scheemdalegotrain Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Cool city - and the way you have changed it over time are IMHO mostly improvements... I especially like the way in which the beach is combined with a road, turning this into a kind of 'seaside boulevard'. One thing you consistently keep doing I don't quite understand, though: why are the train tracks mostly 'separated' from the rest of the layout? This gives the feeling that they do not form an integral part of your layout and that the trains are riding around it. Why not put them on baseplates? Quote
melbs Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) Now accepting reservations :) after so many delays, chez albert is now open The newly raised down town There are now two roads to access the downtown and beach, the first by the GE And other one by the small car dealership, behind it is also the main MRT station Beside the TH is where the rumored detective agency modular will be, it will be converted to a modular police station, to complete the gov't street. Over at the beach hula hula girls welcome you to the Paradise Cafe and Surf Shop, its now a floating building in the sea, serves as a dock for the expensive yachts and various boats as well. Some one literally feels like his world is in a higher place :) New houses are now lined up by the coast In particular a minifig-ized Farnsworth house, where the owner is sun bathing while her son is wind surfing, with the chefs preparing to grill their chicken bbq dinner. Overview of the whole new raised city layout :) Trains now run in a figure 8 :) Port area a WIP :( MRT stations located in the center of the layout, one in the port/industrial area, and another to be built in the downtown.
