The back appears to be at an angle, but without a hinge, is it just somewhat attached between the two plates in order to stay where it is? That is how it looks to me!

This ship is definitely cool, and I love the lines on it, but I am going to withhold calling it the most gorgeous ever until it is complete! Maybe we can say "This ship is POTENTIALLY the most gorgeous Lego® ship I've ever seen!!!!"

That's correct Mr. Z. I know that 95% of the ships use a hinge to get this effect (including the official ships). But I've never been completely satisfied with how this looks. So I have been experimenting a bit and this is the result.

It's just out of ordinary paper and the 2 sides are glued with Pritt.

The "trick" to make it look realistic is to bent the flags a few times directly after you put the 2 sides together.

This way it will look natural (like it was waving in the wind).

Back on topic, the ship has temporary sails out of normal paper.

I just wanted to see how it all looks and get the right form for each sail.

I'll be taking some pictures soon, so I can get some feedback before making the definitive sails.
