-obelix- Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 (Oh no, not them again...) Because of his run-in with the Bonapartes, Thalion stays in the back, behind Sarge and Brickington but speaks with a firm voice, "As my friends here already said, a while ago we ran into pirates sailing freely around these waters. Would you happen to know anything about that?" Quote
The Legonater Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Using Diplomacy, "We are a great group of buddies. Our friend here wants to show us around his homeland so we just came. We are not looking for trouble although we did already run pirates. Are you from here? Could you help us with directions?" Sir Brickington was very nonchalant Pirates? On the Crystalline Sea? This is ill news indeed. Have you any proof? We have this letter. Then it is true. Gentlemen, you seem to be in a spot of trouble. I am Captain Pellaeon of the Bonaparte fleet, tasked with keeping a close eye on the area near the port of Newharbour and the Crystalline Sea. As such, this disturbance of yours is wholly my fault. If you wish, I can give you escort to Duplovia or wherever it is you're going - it would be an honour. Quote
Brickington Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Using Diplomacy, "Well I think we are headed to Newhabour. Let's go there. Also, the name's Sir Brickington." OOC: Can I have his battle stats? Quote

Sir Brickington was very nonchalant Thalion whispers to Brickington, "A friendly advice; if you address strangers, choose your words carefully and don't give away more information then needed." He moves away from knight and looks at the Bonaparte, "Tell us captain, have there been lots of incidents with robbers or pirates in these parts recently? If that is the case, we wont turn down an escort to Newharbour..." As they start walking Thalion turns and whispers to Sarge, "Don't offer all of our help so casually, without consulting us. I, for one, will not help the Bonapartes so easily, as I've seen what they are..." He remembered the end of the quest in the Hovels and shuddered. Quote
The Legonater Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Sir Brickington head to NewHabour while talking to their new companion. "So have you always been in the service of the Bonapartes?" Not always, but I have developed quite the reputation. He moves away from knight and looks at the Bonaparte, "Tell us captain, have there been lots of incidents with robbers or pirates in these parts recently? If that is the case, we wont turn down an escort to Newharbour..." With all this business between Duplovia and Delfrin and people to stop them, I wouldn't be surprised to hear of crime rates increasing. It would probably be safer if I joined you for the moment. And what is that about the people who are trying to stop them?" Quote
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Little more than anyone else in the High Kingdoms does - they've been fighting a long, bloody war and want peace. There are some out there that want the war to keep going, the fools. If you ask me, it's someone operating inside Duplovia itself. Quote

Sarge whispers back to Thalion "You may wanna get inta them Ziegfried's good books, to learn how to become a necro-wossaname, I wanna learn how ta use them cannony thingies!" Sarge nods at Captain Pallaeon in greeting. Then Introduces himself "Sargeant Jon MacEncy Sir! " Sarge continues on to Newharbour. Mayhaps he might spy some fine art? More likely Someone would try to mug him. Quote
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 (edited) QM Note: If it's alright, I'll keep moving things along. The heroes wander around about, eventually stumbling into an inn in Newharbour. It's relatively empty, save for the innkeeper, a Norgh, a tattered-looking beggar and a slightly armoured archer. QM Note: Just as a side note, the next few pictures are done up by me and not Masked. Wasn't really expecting you guys to go to Newharbour Edited April 23, 2013 by The Legonater Quote

-obelix- Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Sarge says to the party "Let's get some gossip!" "Agreed." Thalion turns to the person who looks like a bartender, "Greetings barkeep, we are on our way to Duplovia. Have you heard any rumors about the road there?" Quote
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Not much - as a Phibian I try not to stray too far from the shores - but I have heard a rumor that someone high up in the ranks might have something to do with the assassinations. That's preposterous! Hey, I'm only saying what I heard. If you want, I think one or both of those two men at the table is from Duplovia or Delfrin. "First , let's plunder!" Sir Brickington gets his shovel out and tries to get some gold that fell on the ground. Sir Brickington receives 10 gold. Quote
-obelix- Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Following barman's advice, Thalion approaches the table, "Good day gentlemen. Bartender pointed us to you for information on current Duplovia and Delfrin situation. Might you know anything, anything at all about that?" After the last sentence, he looks at the one and then the other. Quote
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Greetings, sir! The situation? I know a little bit, sure. Besides the usual know-how, I've looked at the situation, and it would seem that there's at least two separate groups of assassins involved in this thing, possibly more. People call me the Archer, by and by. And I am Morcrass. I know little of Duplovia, though I am sure I could give you a good tale for a few pieces of gold! Quote
-obelix- Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 "Thank you. My name is Thalion. I appreciate the offer Morcass, but, if possible, we would like facts over tales. So Archer, can you tell us a bit more about those groups of assassins, who they are, what they did or plan on doing?" Quote
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Please, sir! I'm poor and starving, I can't even afford to buy a loaf of bread my little girl! I don't know too much - they didn't come to me, after all - but from what I've seen one of the groups is the Hidden Skulls. Hidden not being to best word, because they seem to prefer face-to-face assault. The other group is harder, because as a general rule they seem to prefer striking from a hidden location. When they aren't hidden, they're pretty heavily armoured. Quote

This isn't the first time we've heard of those Skulls, they sound like your typical, organized thugs. But that other group is worrying me more right now... Did they fly any banner, or mark, anything that might help us identify them? If you don't mind me asking and I mean no offence by it, how did you come to poses that knowledge?" The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Oh, thank you, kind sir! This particular story I heard from a gentleman several years ago. There was a man who worked in a field. When insects entered the field, he got his servant to take care of it. This servant hired a few men, who were only called Mr. N and Mr. E. They did not meet each other, but still worked hard to follow the servant's orders. Another servant saw these two men working on the field, and decided to hire his own, a man named Franz. When Franz began clearing out insect, Mr. N and Mr. E decided to work together to clear the field of- Is there a point to any of this? Keep your Franz close and your N and Es closer. ...That was awful. Ignore him. The Archer turns back to Thalion. They seem to bear some sort of hand on their armour. Beyond that, nothing. And for the record, I keep my eye on everything. Like everything. For example I know your not a big fan of this Bonaparte just by looking at you. Though for the record neither do I. It's part of why everyone calls me the Archer. Looks at Morcrass. ...Oh, I get it now! Quote
-obelix- Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 "Thanks for the info. I don't know how you knew about me and the Bonies , but you are right. Tell me, could you, by any chance, know why we are passing through here?" Quote
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 ...If I were to guess, I'd say you're Heroes, hired to help stop the assassination attempts. If I were to guess, I'd say you stand a good chance of succeeding. But no one wades into muddy waters without getting their hands a little dirty, if you catch my drift. If this goes through, chances are you may not like what you find at the end of the line. Quote
-obelix- Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 "Color me impressed... And thank you for the vote of confidence! There is one more thing I wish to ask you; is there a chance for you to join us? This could turn out to be quite an adventure..." Quote
