Pyrovisionary Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) "Actually we're the cleaning force, I'm the female orc cleric, I am called Gertrude. . This is sir Brickington the washerman and our house-elves Alex and Thalion . Yeah. Of course we're the bloody Heroes." Sarge lets Thalion do the rest. Content that he was viewed as one with whom not to F***. Ooc: "Low town" Quote#2 Edited April 30, 2013 by Skyrimguy Quote
-obelix- Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 After Sarge's introduction Thalion speaks to the clacked man, "Indeed we are the heroes. My name is Thalion, and these are, as our annoyed friend already told you, Alexander, Sarge, and Brickington. Whom do we address?" Quote
The Legonater Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 This is Prefect R- Eyric Rone. If you call me 'Prefect' again I'll be obliged to show you just how much authorization the name gives me. Eyric looks over the group for several moments. He nods approvingly at Sarge. A Rogue, huh? Good to know another of us has managed to slip behind Harbrid's Walls. Rone, you know- You think I don't? Just don't tell the King I said anything, we'll be fine. Eyric turns to Thalion, a strange look on his face. What are you, a Mage? Quote
The Legonater Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 After our war against a group of Magic-Users, everyone's been a bit on edge. You shouldn't get any trouble. At least from most of us. Anyways, if there's nothing else, should we head inside? Quote
-obelix- Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 "I've dealt with people distrusting me all my life, I am an elf and a mage... You are right, we delayed for too long, we should head inside." Quote
Brickington Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 OOC: Can I get back to normal now? Pretty Please? Quote
The Legonater Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 Alright, follow close. The group enters the throne room. Ah, Heroes! Come in, come in! King Somaril gives a brief glance to the Knocked Out Brickington. We should have plenty enough care for your friend there. Please, come in! Quote
-obelix- Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Thalion bows, "Thank you, my lord. My name is Thalion and these are my friends Alexander, Sarge and Brickington. If you dont mind me getting straight to the point, the reason why we are here... What is going on and what can we do to help?" He put special emphasis on the last part. "On our way here we were attacked several times, I am guessing, in an attempt to stop us from reaching you. The last such attack happened here, in the city. Fortunately, we were able to defeat the assassin, and he had this on his person." Thalion takes out the engraved crossbow. "Can anyone here tell us something about it?" He holds it in front of him, so that everyone in the room can see it. Quote
The Legonater Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 I haven't seen those markings before, but I know somebody in the marketplace who does. Why don't you start from the beginning, I would be interested in hearing all you have learned thus far. Quote
Brickington Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Sir Brickington gets helped by the king's helpers and then takes a little rest with his bedroll while the others discuss. Quote
-obelix- Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 "From what we have learned so far, you and Delfrin are about to sign a peace treaty. There are several groups that don't want that to happen. First on our way to Duplovia, we were attacked by pirates. They were hired by someone to specifically stop us from getting here. We stopped in Newharbour to see if we can pick up any leads, but we only got rumors. It might be worth to mention that we encountered a man who called him self "Archer", and was very knowledgeable about the current situation and the parties involved. He warned us about the group called "Hidden Skulls" and another group who he described as having a white hand painted on their helmet. We were attacked by a group of Hidden Skulls when we exited the Newharbour, and after we got to the city we were attacked by a mysterious assassin I mentioned earlier who had the white and marking on his helmet. We questioned the Skulls but we got nothing out of them, and we got this crossbow from the assassin. I think that about sums it up." Quote
The Legonater Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 Intriguing. We are, of course, about to sign a peace treaty. I've heard of these Hidden Skulls. They seem to be a flighty group, refusing the attack either of the kings directly. We will look into this 'Archer'. For now, if there's no other questions, I suggest you folks rest. You've had a busy day, after all! Brickington is carried away. He is revived, but he will be Weakened for the next battle. Quote
-obelix- Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 "Thank you, your majesty. The only questions I have are about your job for us, but before that a rest would be nice. It has been a long journey, and we are all tiered..." Quote
The Legonater Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 And what questions would those be? Quote
-obelix- Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 "What would you have us do? Do we proceed to the marketplace to identify this crossbow, or something different entirely?" Quote
The Legonater Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) I leave the investigation up to you. In earnest, it was the Prefect who suggested hiring you, not I, so I am most interested in watching your progress - we may need you in the future. In any case, the identity of who's hiring these assassins must be found, and at the moment this crossbow seems your best lead. Edited April 30, 2013 by The Legonater Quote
-obelix- Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) "I thought the same. Then if you dont mind, we will go and rest a bit, and then we are off." Thalion turns to Prefect, "Master Eyric, would you mind showing us to the quarters we can use, and afterwords leading us to the marketplace to visit the man you mentioned earlier; the one who can help us with the crossbow?" Edited April 30, 2013 by -obelix- Quote
The Legonater Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 Eyric leads them into their quarters, and the party rests. The next morning, they get up, the sun peering in the windows and glistening on the beautiful city of Duplovia. Eyric rises the heroes, and they set out to the market with Quellir. Eyric ushers the group to the man to the right. Krinkins, it's been some time. Too long, Eyric. What brings the Prefect of Duplovia to my little stand? Business. Eyric turns to the heroes. Krinkins here is the best information broker this side of the Crystalline Sea. You're too kind. I'm just a man of Bothe, after all. The men of Bothe or renowned for their ability to acquire information. Otherwise we wouldn't be here. Thalion, you mind showing Krinkins that crossbow? QM Note: On Thursday I'm gone for a band trip until Sunday. I'll try to post as often as I can, but in the meantime, feel free to RP! Quote
-obelix- Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Thalion approaches the stand, "Greetings!" He takes out the crossbow and hands it to Krinkins. "Can you tell us anything about it?" Quote
The Legonater Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 Krinkins examines the crossbow for several minutes. Yeah, I could probably identify this. But I don't work for free, I'm sure you understand. You guys look like decent but poor folks, so I'll give you a choice. You can do me a favour, or we can go through a game of Tic. I'll explain to you the rules if you want, to guide your choice. Quote
-obelix- Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Thalion's face took a more serious look, "I dont like games, but lets hear the rules..." Quote
