Chromeknight Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Nerwen's confidence in her choices leads her to feel she is stylish enough to pull off the crocodile handbag with her outfit. Nerwen equips the crocodile handbag as her third artifact. Profound apologies for interrupting you. Our reason was simple, and has nothing to do with interfering in whatever business you are conducting. We have been hired by the proprietor of this establishment to sort out some problems with tennants. In the process need to check all the rooms issues that could further problems. As we have now checked this room and you have not reported any sightings of ghosts, or other issues, we can leave you to conclude you dealings which we remain blissfully ignorant of and entirely unconcerned with.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 26, 2013 Author Posted May 26, 2013 "You Metasimians are always soft, its why the Wolfgang has almost completely swallowed your group up, Zathwin. We don't have any idea of what they heard." "Yes but if they had meant to kill us they would have done so, Hairbelly. Ms. Elf, we have not seen anything of suspicion or strangeness this evening."
The Legonater Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 We need not intrude on your business, but I do have one question - how reflective are those goblets of yours? There is one tenant giving us a spot of trouble, and we need some reflective surfaces.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 26, 2013 Author Posted May 26, 2013 "Back stabbers and looters that's all Heroica's good for it would seem." "Quiet Hairbelly. I'm afraid, the goblets are pretty dull. You might try looking for a mirror among some of the other inhabitants of the inn."
The Legonater Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Thank you for your time, gentlemen. There is, unfortunately, one last request, and I do apologize for wasting your time. In the room directly below us is a gentleman who had evaded us to no avail. It is possible, in fact, that he has listened in on your conversations through the ceiling. If you would allow us, we would see if there's anyway down into his room from this one.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 "By all means, if you can be quick about it go ahead."
Chromeknight Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Whilst Dyric searches for access to the floor below, Nerwen asks Were either of you gentlemen familiar with Mr Krook, the previous owner of this establishment? If so, can you think of anyone who benefits from harming him?
The Legonater Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I check the floor for anyway to break down into the room below.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 "We only rented the room for the evening for our affair so I am unaware of this Mr. Krook. Hairbelly, you and your cronies used to fleece this area didn't you?" "Shut yer mouth ape, we aren't on chummy terms quite yet. Yeh, we knew ol' Krook, don't really know anyone who would have wanted to do him harm though." Dyric and Nerwens investigation of the floor only leads to an observation of a regular set of floorboars, free of holes or cracks.
The Legonater Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I try to see if we can break through the floorboards.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Dyric attempts to break through the floor boards with his fists (as he forgot to mention exactly how he was going to do this) and ends up bruising his knuckles.
The Legonater Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Nerwen, may I borrow your crowbar? If she says yes, I use the crowbar to pry open the floor.
Chromeknight Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Thank you for your time gentlemen. Dyric, these fine citizens will not be here for much longer, we can come back later when it will not disturb them, ripping up the floorboards. Nerwen waits for Dyric to speak, then follows him if he knocks on another door.
The Legonater Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Nerwen, I will not yield at the end of this chase. We were hired to be the law - and the law is not mocked. I continue prying.
Chromeknight Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Seeing Dyric's stubborness, Nerwen hands Dyric the bent crowbar.
The Legonater Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Realizing he came off a bit harsh, Dyric softens a little. Thanks, Nerwen.
Chromeknight Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Since our friend is bent on doing what he can with the floor, we interupt you for a little longer. I do apologise. Since we are here, I have another question for you. I recently came into possession of a ship. But a ship is only useful if it is doing work. Do either of you gentlemen have things which need to be moved, discretely? The other owners also work for Heroica and, due to certain services rendered, are on good terms with the Bonepartes. There would be no issue, I imagine, with searches, seizures or onerous customs duties.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 The werewolf and metasimian give each other quizzical glances at Nerwen's offer. "Well maybe these chaps aren't the saps we first took them for." "It is an intriguing offer Ms. Elf and should either of our respective organizations ever be in need of such services, we will indeed consider your offer." "How about weapons, do you do those?" Meanwhile Dyric starts prying apart the floor using the crowbar until a hole big enough to fit a hero is made. Down below there is nothing but darkness and shadow.
Chromeknight Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Weapons? What did you have in mind? Seeing Dyric stand triumphant amongst splinters of floorboard, Nerwen smiled politely. And we have our exit, thank you again for your time Gentlemen. And if you wish to speak further about the ship, leave word with the novice, Johero Blackhorn at the temple of Sem. He will see that I receive it. Speaking to Cronk and Xander standing outside in the hall, You had best be ready for battle, we have a way into room 203. Nerwen follows Dyric when he is ready.
posades Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Xander heeds Nerwen's words, equipping the Electro Gear instead of his medal; he didn't know what kind of creature or being would be waiting, but wanted to be ready. OoC: Sorry, busy weekend with graduation lunches and weddings I had to attend. Didn't have much time to post!
The Legonater Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I give an amused glance at Nerwen's offer, then draws an arrow for Requiem. Light 'em up. I leap into the dark hole. I seem to be doing that a lot lately.
Chromeknight Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Drawing her mourning star, the head a sullen red glow from the ruby embedded inside, Nerwen stepped lightly into the hole and dropped gracefully into the room below.
Waterbrick Down Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 QM Note: Sorry folks, we had a power outage in the midwest today which prevented me from getting pictures of the upcoming scene. Update will be coming tomorrow. "Oh, you know the sharp kind."
Waterbrick Down Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) The heroes fall down to the floor below and are thrown into pitch blackness. Nerwen and Cronk notice something is noticeably different about their surroundings (aside from the darkness) but can't seem to put their finger on it. Weapons lie in barrels, an armored breastplate stands to one side. Alchemical equipment and chemicals lie all over the room and in one corner aside a metal door looms a dark shadow with piercing red eyes. "Speak quickly, before I personally see you back out of the hole you crawled down out of." Edited May 30, 2013 by Waterbrick Down
