CorneliusMurdock Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Perhaps the janitor has a master key? Perhaps. But manager would definitely have key as well. Or have one at front desk.
The Legonater Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 We could always rip the door open. But getting the manager would probably be more productive. Let's go.
The Legonater Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Almost. We need access to the penthouse. It's locked.
Waterbrick Down Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 "Ah, the penthouse." The gnome stood bashfully, "Well you see, when poor Mr. Krook died, he had the only extra key to that room. Unfortunately, there wasn't much left of either Krook or the key when we recovered the body."
The Legonater Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Of course he did. So, what do you suggest? Some radical restructuring?
Waterbrick Down Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 "If you must, but I do so wish there was another way in."
The Legonater Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Which reminds me. You may want to consider making doors easier to break into in the future. For everyone's safety. And remove all the bars from the windows. And make the walls thinner. And check the rooms for demonic furniture. And you might want to repair the third floor's floor, if you catch my drift. I lead the group back up the stairs and try to break through the pent house door.
Waterbrick Down Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 "Ummm, I'll have the janitor look into it." The party makes its way back upstairs. How will they attempt to break through the door?
CorneliusMurdock Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Are hinges on inside or outside of door? If hinges are on outside, friends can take pins out and door should come off.
Waterbrick Down Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 The hinges are upon the inside of the door.
CorneliusMurdock Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Cronk had feeling that would be the case. Hmmm.... Is there anything in hallway that might hide a key? Is there door mat or potted plant?
The Legonater Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I try to break through with my chain whip or sword.
Waterbrick Down Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Cronk surveys his surroundings, but the party is standing on a small bare landing with nowhere to hide a key. Dyric starts swinging his chain whip at the door but to no avail as the door stands just as solidly as before.
Chromeknight Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) The building is magical. Perhaps this is it's way of telling us we missed something. And clearly something to do with Krook's death. Edited June 17, 2013 by Chromeknight
Waterbrick Down Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Perhaps the party should look for another way up.
The Legonater Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) Ratabor mentioned Greely died in the cellar... the ghosts said fire drakes were kept there... I think we best be headed back to the cellar. Edited June 18, 2013 by The Legonater
posades Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 "I hope no one here is afraid of small, dark places; it seems we might have to resort to crawling in the ventilation shafts...." Xander states as they head downstairs.
Waterbrick Down Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 The party heads back down to the cellar. Gazing around, they do indeed spot the two drakes the ghosts mentioned.
Chromeknight Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Whilst in the cellar, Nerwen examines the carbonized imprint of Krook on the wall.
CorneliusMurdock Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Cronk will search the floor to see if Krook dropped key before being killed.
Waterbrick Down Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 Nerwen and Cronk inspects the remains of Krook but there is nothing of value or interest remaining behind.
Chromeknight Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Nerwen figures she may as well check out the cellar whilst down here.
Chromeknight Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Nerwen considers all that they have done today in the inn. We have not visited rooms 204 or 206, I believe.
