The dragon's form again begins to grow as he slowly awakens. Sensing the rather limited size of the room, the Party quickly exits grabbing Mr. Greely on their way down and outside. The glow is visible from the street as the Party watches as the dragon bursts a section of the roof off much to the gnomes astonishment. "Ah, it is done." "What are you waiting for. Shoot it! Shoot it!" Edited July 13, 2013 by Waterbrick Down
Chromeknight Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Be calm Master Greely, the dragon will not harm you. Speaking to the dragon she said, I imagine that you now feel much better in yourself? We kept our word and permitted you to remain whilst completing the ritual. We even aided you. Will you keep your word and tender the owed rent?
posades Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Xander looked the dragon up and down, shaking his head slightly; perhaps the party should have taken the man outside before healing him, he thought to himself as he put his Electro Gear on. OoC: I can wear an extra artifact now, right?
Waterbrick Down Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) QM Note: As Flare mentioned in the Discussion thread Posades, the Electro Gear and Medal of Glory are both accessories and may not be worn at the same time. The dragon glanced down at the Party and answered in a smooth and calming voice like the wind blowing through a willow tree. "Yes little one, I do feel much better. Though it saddens me that my companion never lived to see this day. As for the rent and the... damages, if you'd be willing to wait a week's time, I believe I could secure a handsome sum of ten thousand gold pieces to provide for any incurred expenses. The Gnome stood flabbergasted. "Ten thousand?!?!" "If that shouldn't be sufficient, if you would be so kind as to wait an additional month, I shall return with twice that amount." "Twenty thousand... Gold!" "Yes and if you should require further, I will personally burn this inn to the ground for your greedy impertinence, heroes or not. Now which shall it be?" "I, I, I believe the first sum will be quite... quite sufficient." "Good. Now heroes I will take my leave, some of you I will remember for your compassion, others your loyalty to duty, and others for your mistrust. I know not where the winds will take me, but I think fate will see to it that our paths shall cross again." Edited July 13, 2013 by Waterbrick Down
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Farewell, Ecatsue! Cronk wishes dragon well, though Ecatsue should remember that not all wrongs can be righted by gold. Besides rent, there is yet a debt owed that Cronk hopes Ecatsue can find way to repay someday. That is all Cronk will say on subject.
Chromeknight Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I know you did say, Mr Greely, that promises of payment were not as acceptable as payment itself. However, I am of the firm opinion that you can trust the dragon. As to the rest of the rents, we have collect all, with only one outstanding issue. One of your rooms is being haunted by some ghosts seeking a malevolent spirit. If you have any information on that spirit, we will deal with it, freeing the ghosts and enabling you to rent that room once again. Do you know anything on that topic? Or know who might know?
The Legonater Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Farewell, Ecatsue. Always nice to meet a dragon. Good luck on your quest, and safe travels. See, Greely? I told you we could trust the dragon. And yes, any information would be useful.
posades Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Xander says nothing to the dragon, turning his attention to Greely...
Waterbrick Down Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 "Farewell heroes. I will indeed remember your words Cronk, but remember that not all of life is a set of exchanges, of debts and payments, sometimes the world works in unfair ways to both the great and small." With that Ecastue launches himself into the sky and wings his way eastward. "And all this time he was living in the penthouse! Now what's this about ghosts? What the second floor? It's always been haunted, most of the staff just doesn't talk about it. We had a rather nasty spirit removed from up there a few years back, but things have pretty much quieted down and we don't get any complaints like we used to."
Chromeknight Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 If the spirit is properly banished, you might want to let those in room 205 know, they might finally achieve the peace they long for. As to our required tasks, here is a letter confirming the occupant of room 305 did indeed pay his rent before he was viciously attacked and murdered in his room by the furniture. We have dealt with said furniture, at no extra charge to you. I believe Cronk and Dyric carry the pavements from other rooms.
Chromeknight Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Nerwen pokes Dyric. You are also carrying the contract Cynthia Werelizard had made with Mr.Krook.
The Legonater Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 That is the contract from Room 201. Are you sure you're alright?
Chromeknight Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Apologies. I thought you had given Mr.Greely the payment for room 203 rather than the letter for 201
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Oh, Cronk has Ratabor's rent money. Here is Cleric's rent, Mr. Greely. If ghost situation has been handled, why are spirits in room still there? Perhaps friends should go back and talk to ghosts? Is there anything else that friends forgot?
Waterbrick Down Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 The gnome accepts all of the payments from the heroes, his eyebrows raising at the contents of the letter from room 201. "You actually made contact with the spooks on the second floor? My oh my. Well, they haven't been causing too much trouble as of late and the last group of ghost exterminators we had, skipped out on us without finishing the job, but no matter. I believe all is now accounted for. Is there anything else you require, otherwise I will go grab the strongbox."
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 The group of "spooks" friends made contact with was the last group of ghost exterminators. Cronk does not really understand what happened but exterminators seemed to believe other spirit was responsible and still on loose. Does Greely wish friends to investigate further in matter?
Waterbrick Down Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 "Well that would explain a lot, however I leave it up to you. As I said, we had a very troublesome spirit removed from up there a few years ago and while we get the occasional haunting up on that floor, it's pretty harmless most of the time."
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 What do friends think? Cronk would at least like to go back and see if friends could talk with ghosts again. Cronk feels bad that friends have not helped ghosts.
The Legonater Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 We could give it a shot, though I'm not sure what more we can do.
Waterbrick Down Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 The party returns to the ghosts' room. "Ah heroes. Did you hear that earlier tremor, sounded like an earthquake didn't it?"
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Noise was merely a dragon breaking off roof of inn. Nothing to worry about. Ha! Mr. Greely says that ghost problem that ghost hunters were hired to rid inn of has stopped. Friends did not encounter evil spirit during time at inn either. Friends would like to help friendly ghosts, perhaps ghosts could describe evil spirit a little. Did spirit inhabit furniture, maybe?
The Legonater Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 If I'm correct, I believe you're referring to Ecatsue. He was a dragon who had been turned into a man by a witch, and just underwent a process that turned him back into his true and final form. It was all quite fascinating.
Waterbrick Down Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 "Oh the dragon, forgot about him up there. As for the spirit, I think there was something about a possessed icebox, but we never got all the details of the job before we were on the other side of mortality. There was another group of Paladins that came in through here a few years back, did what's-his-face ever mention if they had an encounter? I know we tried to keep out of that groups way, being slightly undead and all."
