Posted April 22, 201311 yr Hi, I worked on a MOC for a SeTechnic.com contest. The contest is about Dagobah so it was obvious to use Yoda and A Xwing! I would like to be accurate on colours and I really want to do something with X-Wing and lights so I started to think about how to do water and how to see lights. I also try to make a nice and accurate camp with a light brick. The water is made with 4x1 bricks in trans green and green. The fog under the threes is made with trans clear cheese slopes. Yoda is searching in Luke stuff like in the movie (after 46 minutes) and that's why you can see some stuff on the ground around them. Finally, the most difficult part are the threes, and I need to found a solution to improve them ... My inspiration was this 2 pictures : here is the result : hope you liked it.
April 22, 201311 yr Really great job on the lighting in the first picture. The trees look a bit strange to me, the roots look like they should be a bit further down the trunk.
April 22, 201311 yr That's a great looking MOC. I love the green water! The tree roots are supposed to be big, but maybe slightly smaller. I don't know, they look decent enough to me...
April 22, 201311 yr Nice MOC and beautifully captured on camera! The swamp especially looks great and the tree design is spot on!
April 22, 201311 yr Author Thanks. The problem with the threes is in the fact that, in the movie, we never see the top of them, actually we can only see the roots. I would like do to it like that, be it would be strange, so I decided to add trunks.
April 22, 201311 yr *huh* Awesome work  I really like all of this MOC and the lights give a fantastic effect
April 22, 201311 yr What a unique creation. The lighting and photography are fantastic. Good job on the sunken X-Wing as well; it really looks natural. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
April 22, 201311 yr Beautifully done and pretty accurate! I love the submerged X-Wing and your parts usage for the swamp. My only minor nitpick is that the cannons on the end of the fighter are a bit too short.
April 22, 201311 yr Fantastic MOC I really like how you packed all the details into the swamp especially with the swamp floor, i'm also in love with the lighting used especially the one in the swamp! Great creation! I'm not to keen on the roots like the others said, but if you managed to bulk it up a little I think it will look better!
April 22, 201311 yr WOW I want to scream: THIS WORK IS A MASTERPIECE!!!  Edited April 22, 201311 yr by LEGO Train 12 Volts
April 22, 201311 yr Great diorama Bayou! I love the trees, lighting, and especially the x-wing sunk in the swamp. Have you thought about adding the creature swimming around in the swamp? I think it would be cool to see in there considering how well you’ve accomplished the view under water.
April 22, 201311 yr Looks great! At first I thought that lighting wasn't all that great, but I gave it a second look and discovered it is brillant! It's a shame you did not include a Yoda's hut, but you can't have everything, right? :) Do you have a complete build of that x-wing too? - just out of interest. Question: where is that lever for on the far left of the first picture? Lights? Edit: I like the detail of the sitting Yoda, is that your own design? Edited April 22, 201311 yr by TWP
April 22, 201311 yr Author Do you have a complete build of that x-wing too? - just out of interest. Question: where is that lever for on the far left of the first picture? Lights? Edit: I like the detail of the sitting Yoda, is that your own design? Nope, i only did this xwing, but I'm quite pleased with its design and maybe I will complete it... The lever is for the light brick in the camp. i made a small key, and a hole on the left. You insert the key, turn it to switch on or off the brick and you can take off the key with light on. It's simple but it works well. Here is the mechanism : Yes, Yoda is my own design. i wanted him to search in Luke stuff, and the official yoda has small not movable legs. I designed new ones to permit him to sit down on his knees. Edited April 23, 201311 yr by Bayou
April 22, 201311 yr This is amazing. From the glow in the power unit for the camp to the targeting computer and lights in the x-wing, you didn't miss a beat. About the only think you didn't do was dip your R2 in a mud bath. There is so much going on here and yet it doesn't feel 'busy'. I keep going back to see what other little nuggets are there that I missed the 1st 10 times I looked at it. Well done
April 22, 201311 yr Incredible! Amazing atmosphere for a great MOC! I love the water and how you can see under the surface! Amazing work!
April 23, 201311 yr AWESOME creation 'Bayou' and congrats on being front paged too ! Perfect posing of Yoda in that first meeting scene between him and Luke. The X-wing in the swamp is the high point of the whole MOC......Brick On 'Bayou' !
April 23, 201311 yr Superb build Bayou! You've capture it beautifully. The lighting gives it a wonderful effect. Fantastic job
April 23, 201311 yr nice to stick with the classics, really nice work, great job with the water and x-wing :)
