Illrisca, a middle-sized city of Valaryio, is home to some of the busiest markets in Historica. A Kaliphlin family has settled down in a spacious house right next to one of the biggest markets in the town.

Buy anything from jewelry and diamonds to chicken legs to bread straight from the oven!

Two children stage a mock battle on the small lawn:

Sorry if some of the pictures weren't so great, the weather was uncooperative and I had to dismantle it soon after...

How does it compare to my previous Valaryio build?

I'm sure my tan brick count has improved, if nothing else!

If I had had a bit more time I might have tried to throw an interior in there, but unfortunately I didn't get the chance. A couple more pictures on Flickr anyways!

I agree with the above comments

I think the colorscheme in this build is more attractive than the other as well.

Great work on the market and the figs in it. Cool stair design to the canal as well, but wouldn't the gondola go there to unload?

The lighting and presentation are really nice Kai, your building skills are growing every time. The use of colour and contrast is good, and I like the recurring motif of stacked 1x1 round bricks. The jumper plate on the bottom stair bothers me a bit. I rally like the bustle in the marketplace, and your wave effect is very elegant. Great build

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you think my photo quality has improved! Looking back at some of my first, wow I used to be pretty lousy...

...Cool stair design to the canal as well, but wouldn't the gondola go there to unload?

Good point. But my thought was more or less that it would be easier just to hoist things up (the guy on the bottom pushing and the guy on top taking it), and when a person wanted to go up they could take the stairs. And of course, if I had put it there, you wouldn't be able to see the stairs as well...

Yeah, it bothered me too. Unfortunately I only have one 1x2 dk grey tile (I was able to get around the second stair by using a 2x2, but those were in short supply as well), so I didn't have much choice...

Nicely done Kai! I really like all the minifig action that is going on! (although the hat of the guy fishing feels a bit misplaced to me) And compared to your others builds, your getting better and better.

A nice little scene you have created Kai! Many things and details to look at! I love these packed mocs when you can find new things all the time! Nice work!

Thanks! This was one of those few MOCs I felt I could just keep adding and adding details to, that's the great thing about markets!

Definetely like all the action that is going on. And I would have to agree, I also like this one better. It just shows that you have matured as a builder! Great work, maybe we'll see each other in Varlyria

Nice lively scene, I agree with above that you have refined your building style in a good way...even though I think the old build uou showed here was really nice as well!

Favorite detail in the new build is something as simple but elegant as the snot stairs into the water :)
