Flipz Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) "Lord Boomingham, if we Hasten the beast, I can keep it Blind while you Counterstrike it for extra damage. Shall we take that course?" I do a mental fistpump as my strategy works to perfection. "Not too shabby." "Couldn't go an entire quest without hearing you, could I?" "Brilliant. We have them right where we want them..." I attack the Chaosaur twice, back. Suggested actions for Arthur: >Arthur uses Scroll of Sealing on Chaosaur (back) >Arthur uses Scroll of Sealing on Chaosaur (back) (or Fragile, if Choasaur is sealed.) >Arthur uses Scroll of Sealing on Chaosaur (back) (or Fragile, if Choasaur is sealed.) (Or Roderick's Sword, front, if Chaosaur is Blind and Fragile.) >Arthur uses Scroll of Sealing on Chaosaur (back) (or Fragile, if Choasaur is sealed.) (Or Roderick's Sword, front, if Chaosaur is Blind and Fragile.) "Boomingham, could you move Arthur to the top of the battle order? If he can get a seal and fragile off, this battle is over." If the Chaosaur is Sealed and Blind, we can autoroll with all of us wailing on it from the front, with Arthur reapplying his scrolls as neccasary. (In the order of Blindness->Sealing->Fragile) "If you don't mind, I'll use the Staff of Ennon instead--I'm rather low on Ether, but I don't see any need to waste any Tonics or Ether Cores on me." Also, I should have 5 Ether, as I lost 4 and gained 4. Pandora Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Nyx roars as the flames unfurl around her, consuming the strange pink lizard. She pants briefly, almost ecstatically, as she turns on the remaining monster, a wildness in her eyes. She looks back at the group, animated, agitated, wanting more and wide eyed. Almost breathless with .. passion .. for want of a better word, she absent-mindedly breathes: "Larry, I need Arthur to act before me for me to be able to strike with maximal effect." She turns, smooth in her motion as she channels her martial forces once more against the Chaosaur with her book from the front row.

It seems that they weren't corporeal creatures to begin with, but some otherworldly spirits. Looking around the room, the heroes see that most of the guests have left already. The bodies of Ambassador Luneth and the defeated werewolves have also been moved. Only the watchmen, the few remaining staff members and the leaders of the Six Houses remain. Captain Patricia is doing her best to explain the situation to them. "We demand answers! What happened to us?" "Oui! Why do moi et mis enfants 'ave bruizes and scratches?" "Where is that songstress? I can still sense the afterglow of a powerful enchantment in the air..." "By Neron's trident, my head hurts..." "Is mauling your guests some sort of strange local custom I should know about?" "Gah, I tathte blood in my mouth! I have drank vrom thomebody!!!" "Are the Wolfgang generals really all dead?" Captain Patricia turns around and points to the champions of Heroica on the stage. "Those people can answer all your questions, ladies and gentleman. Can't you?" The captain gives the heroes a meaningful look, and the small crowd looks up at them expectingly.
Endgame Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) I wipe off my hands as the dinosaurs topple to the hard oak floor, vanishing in a whisp of color. The heads of houses stir awake, confused about the spectacle. I address the crowd: "It appears tonight was a tad more eventful then expected, ladies and gentlemen - more then Wolfgang was here to enjoy the party. Donny, Violetta, and Steerpike are all dead - all of them slain on the battlefield. The songstress, unfortunately, seemed to be the real threat of the evening. Enchanted entrees assaulted the heroes in the kitchen, and a demonic knight and his steed attacked us. The song definitely seemed enchanting... the contents of the song, though, are unbeknownst to me. Other heroes will have to inform you of the songstress's spell." Edited May 30, 2013 by Endgame
Zepher Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Boomingham nods solemnly and steps off the stage. He clears his throat as Sorrow finishes his speech. "My undead friend is right. I do not have all the details, yet, nor will we ever, most likely. The songstress seems to have aligned herself with the wolfgang, and was attempting to sow discord among you and your fellow houses. She appears to be a powerful sorceress. We killed the generals, but the songstress escaped. That mistake rests with me and me alone, none of my allies. They all performed the tasks assigned to them to the best of their abilities. You have the yeti, undead and boy to thank for the deaths of Violetta and Donny, and you may thank Nyx for Steerpike's death. I should have killed the witch, but she overpowered me, and the death of the Moon Elf rests on my hands as well." Boomingham stares each of the House's heads in the eyes. "My lords and ladies, I will give you a command now. I have no authority to do so other than my own conviction, but I am doing it just the same. The songstress, while she had you under her spell, demanded that you seek the cracks in your relationships. She breathed the breath of hatred into you. You must not fall to it. Power is not one person doing one impressive thing. Power is a group of powerful people striving for a common goal. I fought in the Orcish War. I can tell you that no one group won that war. The Paladins alone did not, nor did the High Kingdoms. We all played our part. We were powerful together. Even the veterans did nothing alone. Six survived, but many died. Those who died - we may not know their names, but we owe them our freedom just the same." "In history, we all play small nameless parts. When I killed Bluehood, when I killed Steerpike, I killed them for this city. You are the powers of this city. It is your duty to leave it better than you entered it, not worse. You can only do that together, not apart. So I command you, yes I, simple Lawrence Boomingham, I command you that for the good of the city you love and the people in it; I command you to not fall apart. Protect and nurture this city by protecting and nurturing your fellow leaders." Boomingham sighs and wipes his forehead. He turns to the Golum. "Now, may I please have a drink?"
Professor Flitwick Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Thothwick looked directly at Zelda. "She's here, Ms. Ziegfried. The one we all fear, she's here, in Eubric. Baba, of the Kalakita Bog. She was Barbariccia, and she tried to set you all upon eachother. And nearly succeeded. Surely now, more than ever, you can see what a threat her ilk pose to our society?"
Shoker86 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Arnulf decided not to speak, he choose to let his more expirienced heroes talk. Besides he didn't have anything to add, he spent half quest in the kitchen, and the other part of it unconsious.
KotZ Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Kiray slowly moved behind Nagure, using his big body to hide herself.
Flipz Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) "It is as Lord Boomingham and Sir Thothwick say. Tonight we killed three villains...but the worst is still to come. Before we leave tonight, I'd like a moment of silence for those who died tonight...and for three people who died on the inside years and years ago. Violetta...Donny...Steerpike. They have been a pain in all our megablocks for a long time. Imagine the pain in the megablocks they could have been to our enemies, if they had chosen a different life. If it hadn't been for one man...Ulric. HE is the one responsible for all of this--a selfish bastard who seeks his own power at the expense of all of Eubric. He is this city's greatest villain, and there is only one way we can defeat him: Unity." "Ulric is a dangerous foe. His words sow fear and discord, setting brother against brother, friend against friend. With Baba, or Barbariccia, or whatever she calls herself, at his side, his power to enthrall others will only be stronger. We must grow stronger as well, and we can only do that by working together, by dispensing with the rivalries and enmity of the past and embracing each others' strengths and differences to make a stronger city for everyone: newcomers and natives, magical and muggle, living and undead, rich and poor. Make no mistake: this is war, a war for the hearts and minds of Eubric's citizens. Ulric's promises of a better life are lies, but the only way to prove him false is to make this city a better place, and to do it together." "If we do our Duty in Unity, we can achieve a prosperous Destiny for all. And I think we all want that." Arthur steps off the stage and shakes the hand of each of the House leaders in turn. As he shakes Hestia Bonaparte's hand, he secretly slips her a small note. Mrs. Bonaparte, A good friend of mine in Heroica believes you to be one of the Veterans--if this is the case, I urge you to tread cautiously in your meetings with the other Veterans. One of your fellows has sided with the Wolfgang, likely misled by Ulric's false message of hope. I urge to take precautions around the others--as a leading member of one of the Houses, you are surely a target for the Wolfgang, as the riot in the Hovels shows (yes, the Wolfgang did indeed claim responsibility for that attempt on your and your husband's lives). All the best, --Private Arthur Justus Regulus VII, Sorcerer of Heroica As the Hinckwells and the Shadeaux are at the end of the line, Arthur finishes with a few extra comments to them. "Sometimes the young possess wisdom beyond that of even the eldest and wisest Elves. From what I have heard, your children possess such wisdom. Use it well." He nods respectfully first to Lord Hinckwell, then to Baron Shadeaux, before returning to the stage with the other Heroes. Edited May 30, 2013 by Flipz

Shoker86 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 "I understand your excitement Grimwald, but choose your words carefully. Theese are very powerfull and proud people, with big egos" Arnulf whispered to his companion, and looked around to see if someone expects him to say something.
KotZ Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 "Something tells me that nipples aren't particularly the common subject amongst these people," Kiray added. "If I can add, the fighting we had was very intense, from all of us. The demonic food overpowered us; we just were not expecting this portion of food... We came in with the idea of looking for Steerpike, and any guards he may bring with him. Food was not expected to attack us. Chef Yasmar did a great job in keeping order in the kitchen amonst his cooks as we battled the cuisine." Kiray turned and looked at all of her companions. "That help?"

"The master chef here must be commended for his masterful skills in trying to keep order with his staff in the kitchen amongst all the chaos that had arisen." "Also, Kiray and Arnulf here are also to be praised, as they expressed great leadership and teamwork I hadn't seen in many moons." He then turned his attention to Sorrow. Lowering his voice, he said "Please forgive me, master Sorrow, I meant no disrespect to either you or your goddess... I just couldn't contain my excitement of us winning the battle, as it has been a long time since I had anything to do with such a great victory. I hope you understand, but I'll understand if you don't....."
KotZ Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 "I'd rather us tell them what happened than the Chef, Bishop."
Flipz Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 "Demonic food, you say? Likely the work of Barbariccia, no doubt. I suspect her involvement with the black rider we faced guarding the rear entrance. First the rider, then the goons, and finally Donny and Violetta themselves. But we remained united in our efforts to defeat them, and so we triumphed."
