Catalina Kittywhisker Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 It seems convenient that you thought he was Town in the night after he'd been lynched.
Wong Wang Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 It seems convenient that you thought he was Town in the night after he'd been lynched. 20/20 hindsight is perfect. Believe me, I thought he was scum/neutral (not intending to bash any neutrals who want to help the town) all day.
Drubulum Panck Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 What I meant was that I did not really suspect Snarky was town. I believed he was scum, or at best a neutral who had an odd win condition, such as possibly being alive by the time the Odor Eaters hope they would win, and they would believe he is the only townie left (yes, odd win condition, I know, but it seriously went on in my head). When Snarky refused to fight us, he could have been telling us that he is town right then and there by not fighting. A scared townie (like I was) or a scum (unless the scum was abandoned by his/her people) would fight back. Yet Snarky did not. So I figured during the night that he was either a scum or a neutral, and his acceptance of the verdict and refusal to challenge us could scream "town" or even "neutral" but did not want to fight. I had six penalty votes against me. He could have easily pointed those out and said "Wong has six penalty votes, claimed his role, used it, and set it on a townie, he has no cards up his sleeve anymore" and could have made a defense around that. What? There are too many things wrong with this statement. It's making my head swim. I think I need to take a long, long nap. 20/20 hindsight is perfect. Believe me, I thought he was scum/neutral (not intending to bash any neutrals who want to help the town) all day. Wow! Have you not ready the town PM. We're supposed to get rid of the Odor Eaters as well as any 3rd Parties. Seriously matey! Pings going off all over the place.

What the hell are you going on about? I'm too bossy trying to untangle your grammar to figure out what your point is.
Drubulum Panck Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Something tells me that there are good chances you didn't get the town role PM at all, and you skimmed over the rules so you didn't read it here either.
Wong Wang Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 What? There are too many things wrong with this statement. It's making my head swim. I think I need to take a long, long nap. Wow! Have you not ready the town PM. We're supposed to get rid of the Odor Eaters as well as any 3rd Parties. Seriously matey! Pings going off all over the place. Actually, as Town we only need to eliminate the Odor Eaters. To win the game, the Order of the Penis must kill off all of the Odor Eaters, while the Odor Eaters must outnumber the Order of the Penis. What the hell are you going on about? I'm too bossy trying to untangle your grammar to figure out what your point is. What's wrong with my grammar? Something tells me that there are good chances you didn't get the town role PM at all, and you skimmed over the rules so you didn't read it here either. I didn't skim. The only thing I skim is milk.
Rutherford HablabbleBibble Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 What's wrong with my grammar? Nevermind, I think I've got it. -First you say you thought Snarky was a scum or had an oddly speciic win condition. -Then you say by refusing to fight accusations he could've been sending out towntells, because only scared townies or scum would fight back (which is flawed logic, not grammar), so when night came, you began having second thoughts. -Then you mention defenses he could've made. -So while you say you were sure that Snarky was either scum or neutral at the time, you didn't vote for him, and only a few hours ago you said if you had another choice to save yourself you would've gone with it. Did I get all that?
Drubulum Panck Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Again, read the town PM posted by Hinckley at the end of the first post. It states clearly "Odor Eaters and any 3rd Party." Of course, the scum also do need to outnumber the 3rd party, but our job is explicit. Of course, you could also just read the Potato Message you received from him if, you know, you're actually town.
Boris Biddlesdorf Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 such as possibly being alive by the time the Odor Eaters hope they would win, and they would believe he is the only townie left (yes, odd win condition, I know, but it seriously went on in my head). Even if you believed him to be a neutral, aren't there a few mich more likely roles such a neutral could have had? I would think a "survivor" would have put up some kind of fight instead of the repeated apathy he spouted. At this point, I'm not sure that Krup being alive is reason to lynch him. Just seems to be a bit of an idiot to me. He seems a bit conceded as well. I'm still on the fence about Wang. I find it much more likely that the gladiator role would be a town one, but it could go the other way. I don't blame him for picking Snarky as the other candidate since Snarky was putting off some scum vibes. I am just speculating, since we have no night results to rely on. Yes the scum killer could have taken out Flabflom, the interlude ["]http://www.eurobrick...5#entry1574614] yesterday seemed to suggest Flabflom had magical powers, alongside with Gertude & Nicholas. If the scum had anything to depend on who to kill yesterday night, I believe that had to be it. I wouldn't be surprised with Gertude or Nicholas goes tonight, unless the scum has someone better to target. Someone needs to stop taking their stupid pills. You think the scum killed Flabflom because of an interlude about magical furballs performing magic tricks? Seriously, pal, I hope the scum are that stupid to base nightkills on junk like that. It'd certainly increase the odds of us beating them. I'm not sure if those two are scum, But Krup's theories are certainly dumb!
Timly Dimplebop Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 For the information of those who can't seem to go back and look for themselves, Elephant Timly has posted nothing but crap yesterday. He wasn't there for much of the time, if his posts are anything to go by, but still... he didn't even vote until after the curse deal. What's going on there, Timly? I am just speculating, since we have no night results to rely on. Yes the scum killer could have taken out Flabflom, the interlude [http://www.eurobrick...5#entry1574614] yesterday seemed to suggest Flabflom had magical powers, alongside with Gertude & Nicholas. If the scum had anything to depend on who to kill yesterday night, I believe that had to be it. I wouldn't be surprised with Gertude or Nicholas goes tonight, unless the scum has someone better to target. If the vig were to take out Regelius for being quiet, I think Timly is quieter than Regelius. Maybe that is the choice the vig had to make. Timly - out of the 5 posts he had made, only 1 meant something, if not anything. As for the late vote yesterday; Well, sometimes the plumbing just has to get done. By the time we got back there were only two options so we picked the one that seemed scummiest to us. Snarky had a scummy attitude, even if he was TotP. Bert and I are fully committed to rooting out the Odor Eaters and disposing of them properly (We can get you all contractor pricing on disposals if you are interested). Perhaps our heads are just stuck in a toilet, but usually our thoughts are already expressed by someone else and we don't want to be the "me too" or "I agree" guys. We're going to go take a trip down memory lane and see if we can learn anything more useful. If you are interested in who we are suspicious of though, it's Wong and Krup. We just can't decide if it's because they are scum, or just all over the place. We're not as suspicious of the quiet ones though, because we know first hand that quietness does not necessarily mean scum.
Godric Goaty-Blather Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Why would his being thrust into the gladiator position by someone whom you don't suspect make you think he's a scared townie? Was he a scared townie when he posted trash and voted for flappy Walrus man? You can't vote now anyway, so that last comment is pretty worthless. By the way, I don't recall you having answered for your less than intelligent vote for the "Girl who can't count" yesterday. I'm not sure if you read correctly. I thought that Wong Wang was the scared townie, and I said that because he hastily used a potentially very useful action for his own self-survival (because he was scared of being lynched). It was my understanding that I did yesterday, however I'll explain again that voting for Ariattny was a complete poke and shot in the dark. The fact that you're referencing this again today even though I explained it yesterday after doing it makes me a bit suspicious. I'm on to you, Panck.
Timly Dimplebop Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Well, Bert and I went back and did some reminiscing and this is what we've come up with: Wong: Could Wong be neutral and still have the gladiator role? We are having a hard time reconciling his words/actions with this supposed townie role. Godric: You acted kind of scummy at the beginning/middle of day 1, but toned it down later on. Which you is the real you? Krup: We don't believe we ever got to a satisfactory conclusion to your fiasco. Sure, the tides were changing, but Bert and I aren't satisfied and don't want your strange behaviors swept under the rug. Gertrude: You were very hellbent on Krup yesterday and very confident you could get him lynched, but we haven't heard from you yet today. Are you still after Krup? We've still got some processing to do, but even plumbers have to take a nap sometimes.
Langston Lionheart Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Although most of us assumed it's more likely to be a penis role than an odor eater role I don't think anyone said that theres absolutely no way it can be a scum role. Hmm, alright. The only argument that it is most likely town is that it's more often town. I've never encountered this role before, so the argument doesn't convince me all that much, which is why I'm going under the assumption that it could also be from the OE's...maybe I'm just wrong on this. Difficult to find out on a first touch basis... Beyond which, I struggle to determine a right course of action that certainty would provide. Were Regelious killed by SK or by Odor Eater, and Flabflom killed by the opposite, I fail to see the gain of knowing. Either killer must be dealt with. Were one of them to have been tracked, by hidden spy under light of moon, then they wouldst claim vig regardless. Well, if Flabflom's killer was the vigilante (and Regelius's was the SK), then that may mean the scum killer was blocked or had their target protected (or targeted the same person?), but it might let the blocker know they blocked the scum killer and have a possible lead to bring up. I mean, it's just another option that might provide a benefit in the future. Of course, though, we'll have to see if we really do have 3 killers or not, we may see so night 2... I don't see how it saves himself; it only somewhat clears him, but it puts himself at risk. Just because he had the curse, does not necessarily mean he is town. I can see easily how it would work as a scum action. It makes the user look town by automatically putting themselves up for risk, which makes it easy for the other person, who could easily be a scummy-appearing townie, lynched, for not being "cleared". I believe it was me who said it made little sense at first, but it actually is starting to make some sense as a scum action. It is very unlikely for it to be an OE action, but it is something that we should be taking into account. How does it make sense to be a scum action but "very unlikely" to be an OE action? OE=scum. Unless you mean not a dedicated action, but rather something part of a jack-of-all-trades role? In that way, it seems much more plausible, if Willy Wangy is scum/OE. Yeah, that's the sort of information you can't pull from interludes/intros/outros. I'm not sure if you read correctly. I thought that Wong Wang was the scared townie, and I said that because he hastily used a potentially very useful action for his own self-survival (because he was scared of being lynched). Well, it was for his own self survival, it's supposed to be himself and whoever he chooses, so of course it's to help save himself. I do question the exact usefulness of such a role, though (not saying that it is pointless or just plain scum, but of it's "potentially very useful[ness]"). Maybe an instance when the gladiator thinks a scum is getting away from a lynch? I guess it sort of acts like a day killer, except it uses the lynch as an MO. So, f I got this right, it's to save himself from being lynched (with the possibility of it backfiring) or bravely to ensure the death of a suspicion. One interesting thing I read on the wizard book of roles, is how they might be used. I'll paraphrase: in the hands of a good, strong town player, it almost spells death to whoever they choose, though there is a possibility of the tables turning. For scum, it should be used very carefully or with a lot of flair (depending on personal style). Looking at how Wong handled this, it looked like with quite a bit of flair. It still leaves me asking: was this just a hasty decision or was he going with flair hoping to clear his name and put him in good standing? Not something easily answered but just his word . It was my understanding that I did yesterday, however I'll explain again that voting for Ariattny was a complete poke and shot in the dark. The fact that you're referencing this again today even though I explained it yesterday after doing it makes me a bit suspicious. I'm on to you, Panck. You don't just vote for people randomly out of the dark with an explanation like you provided (counting??). For being quiet, yes, but Ariattny had been pretty vocal. It's just a bizarre vote, Goatrick . I didn't suspect he was town. What I was meaning was is that when he refused to fight, he may as well have been town. Believe me, if there was another way to do this, to not have me and Snarky voted for, I would have done it. Now you could say I could have gone for Krup, but I was willing to see what would happen to Krup in the night, and today. It was the one risk I was willing to take. So you were hoping to let the power roles figure out/kill Krup over the night and go after somebody less likely to get lynched? That is indeed a risk, and one that is pretty scummy, whether Krup is town or not. What other way would you have done this, then, one that wouldn't have made you regretful, as it seems you are? I'm not sure, would the wiser choice have been Krup since that's who most people suspected as scum (not me, though), or choose another suspect that was also scummy, but not a majority of people thought so before the gladiator thing. A counter argument is that you could have ensured Krup's lynch and let the town PR's would choose their own suspects? The wizard book of roles is right, this role is manipulative, for better or for worse. Did you, personally, think Krup had any possibility (any inkling) of being town, or were you just too unsure that you had to leave him off the tables?
Firuz Foxtail Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Can you tell us why they aren't on your radar anymore? And I know you weren't the only one who responded like that, and I think out of the list of people you posted Godric is another that comes off as sort of unhelpful. And there was also his random vote for Sugarbottom yesterday. The focus for me in the latter half of the day was Durmudgelous, Snarky and Wong. Neither Godric nor Flabflom did anything subsequent to ping my radar. The random vote for Sugarbottom was the reason Godric was on the list. He subsequently switched his vote to Durmudgelous. The rest of his posts yesterday didn't seem particularly scummy to me. Definitely blunt, but not necessarily scummy. Flabflom made a mistake early on, but he became more helpful later on by questioning people and seeking clarifications on statements that had been made. I was leaning towards Flabflom being town by the end of the day, which makes me agree that he was most likely scum killed. The ones I am paying attention to now are Durmudgelous and Wong. I thought Durmudgelous' first post of the day (suggesting Regelius was the one that was scum-killed) was odd and might be designed to confuse us. After what he pulled yesterday, I am still wary of believing anything he says. Further, I know we don't have all the facts, but the MO and the fact that Regelius was quiet yesterday both point to him being a SK (more likely) or vig (less likely) kill. The MO for Flabflom was magic and he was vocal and helpful towards the end of the day, making him a much more likely the OE kill. Wong, Wong, Wong. Ariattny's response to his first post of the day pretty much echoed my sentiments at that time. I also find his few posts since somewhat wishy-washy and unhelpful. For example, he said yesterday it was a waste of an action (post #304), but then responds vague when asked today about whether it was a one-shot action (post #34). I still haven't made up my mind whether he is OotP or OE. If he is one of us, he was being a pretty selfish dick using that spell on the first day to save his own butt. It also makes me wonder what else he will do to protect himself. If he's scum, it was a very risky move. It may have been a calculated move though, as his coming out yesterday (post 282) had me (and others) believing he was town. It was also his third post after the spell was cast. Was he waiting on initial reactions to see what the best way to respond was?
Ariattny Sugarbottom Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Wong is scum. He didn't get the same message we did. Jerky way to do things, but there you go.
Bartholomew Bearbutt Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I am just speculating, since we have no night results to rely on. Yes the scum killer could have taken out Flabflom, the interlude [http://www.eurobrick...5#entry1574614] yesterday seemed to suggest Flabflom had magical powers, alongside with Gertude & Nicholas. This is a wizardy school, we all have magical powers, but that doesnt mean we can all use them at night. I think your reading to much into what happened during the day interlude. I also can't say I'm surprised. I really rather suspected that Snarky was town, mostly because he was thrust into a gladiator competition against a scared townie. I really don't suspect Wong is scum, but I do find him to be extremely unsettling. This is bad. Anyway, while I still find Krup's actions from yesterday as scummy I'll wait until more things happen today until I see how to place my vote. First you call Wong a "scared townie" and then "extremely unsettling". Why do you call him unsettling if you don't think he's scum? Instead of waiting for things to happen you could contribute more of your own thoughts. I guess my wand has an itchy casting finger. What I meant was that I did not really suspect Snarky was town. So yes, it is my fault that Snarky died. Do I like that? No. Do we all have a part in it? Yes. We who voted for him did condemn him and his acute snout to death. It may have been mentioned earlier that we need to look at those who defended Snarky. Yes, we do. But the scum, knowing Snarky was not scum, may have divided their votes in order to hide amongst us better. That Snarky was not fighting back could also be interpreted as an odor eater not wanting to give us too much information by stating his suspicions, so I don't understand how you came to the conclusion that he was town (or neutral) during the night. If you were going to use your action anyway, I think you could have used it in a more usefull way by claiming you had it before using it. You could have looked at the response by Durmudgelous and Snarky (or others) and, if the bandwagon was still on you, you could have made a better choice of the other lynch candidite. Can you explain why you didn't do that? And, as Firuz is also asking, why did you not claim immediatelly that you used it? And when I get that feeling, I want sexual healing. Sexual healing, oh baaabyyyy.
Hinckley Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 Interlude You may now vote. You have 48 50 hours to reach a conviction. (Mod note: Yes, once again I'm starting voting early. I'm tired. One of these days, I'll start the day thread at a decent hour. )
Drubulum Panck Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I'm not sure if you read correctly. I thought that Wong Wang was the scared townie, and I said that because he hastily used a potentially very useful action for his own self-survival (because he was scared of being lynched). Oh! I somehow missed that. It was my understanding that I did yesterday, however I'll explain again that voting for Ariattny was a complete poke and shot in the dark. The fact that you're referencing this again today even though I explained it yesterday after doing it makes me a bit suspicious. I'm on to you, Panck. Why does it make me suspicious? It was odd behaviour that I'm calling you out on. So what were you hoping to discover through your poke in the dark? Did you discover anything? For now, I am hesitating between voting for Krup and Wong again. Wong's not seeming to have gotten the town PM does seem suspicious, but it's possible that he just wasn't paying attention to it as he doesn't seem to have been paying attention to the Day Thread much either. I'm still not sure about the whole Gladiator deal being a scum role. There definitely is something very wrong about Wong, so I think I will vote: Wong Wang again.
Helena Hippopaw Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Hello hello! Sorry to not be around to be part of the sniping fruitful debate. I had an idea or two before, but I need to go over things again to get things straight before I voet. I won't be voting for Wang though. I still don't think Wang is scum. That Gladiator role forces someone to put themselves on the lunch block, and it makes no sense for OE to have a role putting themselves on the block. Wang didn't read his role correctly, I think, but that's nothing new. I think the scum read all the rules and the PM in the first post, and already discussed it together, so if one person makes that mistake, they are probably working alone. Ipso facto, Wang is town. Right? I don't think Wang is the most helpful, but I don't want to lynch a townie
Helena Hippopaw Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Day 1 posts #259 and #267. It was implied, never spoken out loud, but it seemed sort of obvious. As Ariattny said, these weren't posts by Flab, or anywhere near it. Can you tell us when it was implied? I think this is a really strange mistake. This is really strange too. Timly has nothing much to say, but when pressured, the last two vote-getters are his suspicious ones. Not for any reason, just 'cause And they don't find quiet people suspicious. I wonder if that has anthing to do with the fact that they are one of the quietest? Vote: Timly Dimplebop There are a couple otehrs who pinged me too, but it's all pretty vague. I think Krup and Wang have shown they are (wacky, unstrategic) townies, so I'm putting my vote on someone else with a better chance of coming up OE
Lulu Pittoolo Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Well, it was for his own self survival, it's supposed to be himself and whoever he chooses, so of course it's to help save himself. It still leaves me asking: was this just a hasty decision or was he going with flair hoping to clear his name and put him in good standing? Not something easily answered but just his word . I don't like this role at all, since it prevents the town from choosing the person who will be lynched. It's only useful if you assume that one person is smarter than all the town, and can't convince them of their opinion. Thus it's more likely to screw us all up rather than actually help us, if it's a town role. I know it usually is, but it shouldn't be used as reckless, even if it saved Wong's megablocks back there. I don't trust Dillpickle, but he brought something interesting up: Wong never expressed being unsure about Krup before he casted the spell on himself and Snarky, yet he later said he did so because he though Krup was town. That's a strange change of mind, because Krup hasn't given any good defenses in the short intervall before Wong decided to use his action. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! I've been unsure before, but now I've made up my mind: Using the gladiator early is perfectly logical if you are scum. On day two the main suspicions tend to shift completely, and people are less consequent on day one. Later in the game, the town might not have let the bandwagon on Wong go, but those who had voted for Wong before were (understandably) less consistent woth their vote. And even if Wong should be town, he has not been useful and is now a vanilla (and the scum knows that). I feel confident to vote: Wong Wang Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
Helena Hippopaw Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 And even if Wong should be town, he has not been useful and is now a vanilla (and the scum knows that). So you think it's okay to vote out a townie Why not look for scum?
Lulu Pittoolo Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Tweet, tweet! So you think it's okay to vote out a townie Why not look for scum? No, I think he is scum. But I don't know, how would I? He can be town, and if he is, it's not a great loss, that's what I'm saying. Way to misparaphrase me, Helena Tweet!

Yes, it was a risk and one I was willing to take. Wong is scum. He didn't get the same message we did. Jerky way to do things, but there you go. That's the dumbest thing I've heard, even from me.
Helena Hippopaw Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Tweet, tweet! No, I think he is scum. But I don't know, how would I? He can be town, and if he is, it's not a great loss, that's what I'm saying. Way to misparaphrase me, Helena Tweet! you thought Wang was town yesterday. You voted for Snarky. What changed?
