Vindicare Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Saw an Audi commercial advertising the many customizable options and it started out with a kid at a table with a lot of well sorted bricks and building a car. Quote
gandalf the brick Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Just a thought who else looks for the new Lego sets in films. As I was watching man of steel I was trying to compare the actual ship to the lego ship and see the difference. Surely its not just me! Sorry I've put this in the wrong forum, will it be moved to the correct one? :) Quote
Fugazi Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Yes, I will move this to a more appropriate forum. Quote
Leo604 Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Usually when the movie-based sets are released I try to see how accurate the sets are in relation to the media. Eg. The IM3 wave was horribly inaccurate; Man of Steel was a little better in that regard. Quote
gandalf the brick Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Haha yes it was quite disapointing with how inaccurate the im3 sets were. Quote
nayrsllim Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 i did this with most of the star wars sets that came out. Quote
Grimmbeard Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I did this with Pirates of the Caribbean, for the sets as well as inspiration for MOCs. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Im sort of the opposite! All be watching a show or movie and thinking, man, this would make a cool set! Quote
Dat Lego Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 (edited) I did this when watching Iron Man 3, I was deeply dissapointed at Lego. . Although in my opinion the Toy Story sets are better. Edited July 6, 2013 by Dat Lego Quote
TomLego Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 There appear to be Legos in a new Audi TV advertisment in the United States. A little boy is seen building a car with what appear to be Legos while his father builds a new Audi on the AudiUSA website. The poor mother in the ad can't get the attention of either one as they are both totally wrapped up in building their respective cars. Quote
gandalf the brick Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I agree the toy story sets were very good Dat Lego. Sounds like an interesting advert :) Quote
DPrime Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Heh, I thought you meant ACTUAL Lego sets. I love seeing vintage toys in movies and TV shows, like Kenner Star Wars figures in Freaks and Geeks or '80s GI Joes in Fringe. I imagine there must be actual Lego sets in tons of movies, but I can't think of any offhand... :) Quote
Hey Joe Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Hey! There's a large bus with a Lego ad painted on it in "The Bourne Surpremacy". Bourne (Matt Damon) has just arrived in Moscow and he goes out of the train station and gets into a black taxi (that's what we call unlicensed ones here in China). The bus is in the background as they pull away from the station. Wow, what a great car chase in that movie, I'd forgotten. Ranks right up there with the ones in "The French Connection" and "Ronin". antp Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 The movie, Now You See Me, there was a couple buildings built. They were your mediocre 4 solid wall, no roof contraptions in their 'hide out'. I certainly got excited and squealed a bit when I saw them. Indeed, I saw the movie a few days ago, but it is not so bad : http://bricks.inmovi.es/movie_1670345_Now-You-See-Me.html Another recent find, more interesting, in the UK series "New Tricks", a boat made out of a mix of Lego parts from different eras is used to explain how drugs were smuggled on a container ship. The guy in the series says the model took 4 hours and 36 minutes to build. Nice view of minifigs : And also a police car from set http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=4436-1 (one of the minifigs comes from there, as well as a few newer parts on the boat) http://bricks.inmovi.es/movie_362357_New-Tricks.html And in the series "The Neighbors", a brief scene with possibly-Lego on a table: http://bricks.inmovi.es/movie_2182229_The-Neighbors.html Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 The Doctors (BBC.) Episode 'The Edge 89/222' had a shot of Doctor Al at his computer and there was a Star Wars LEGO box on the side. It was not quite clear enough to make out what it was as it was just the side on vie, quite a small set though by the looks of it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b039q6vf/Doctors_Series_15_The_Edge/ Quote
antp Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 In the new series "The Michael J. Fox Show", in a scene a guy is seen in the room of his little brother, with Lego all around: Note the Calendar set http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=853195-1 on the shelf The thing in background on the wall seems to be also made out of Lego. In this scene there is a Lego storage unit seen on the left: Line in this scene: "Legos everywhere. They're not even put together right. How is this a tug boat? Seriously." Quote
antp Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 In episode 1.04 of the series Trophy Wife, the 7965 Millenium Falcon is well featured - Are we done yet?! - Almost! I think I got all the grays for the wing. - The wing is light gray, not dark gray. - What kind of maniac makes two grays?! Why is this so hard? - It says ages 9 to 14. I'm 8 and you're ... - 26. LEGO Guy Bri Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 In a new episode of American Dad, LEGO was used to "construct" 3 versions of Director, Ron Howard, for a LEGO convention in their fictional town of Langley Falls, Virginia. One was eventuallydestroyed Quote
antp Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 In the Australian short film "Lichen", Batman's Tumber is seen : I suppose it comes from the set 7888 ? http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7888-1 Robin is also seen, but it comes from another set then: Quote
Lyichir Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 So tonight's episode of Suburgatory (an American sitcom) featured Bionicle prominently. Lisa (who always played second fiddle to her adopted jock older brother, now in college) was upset when her parents adopted Vincent, a little Asian boy who claimed to love [American] Football, on a whim. She had a feeling Vincent was lying to get her parents to like him, and when she went through his room she found that stuffed in his trunk was the 2010 Takanuva set. She recognized him (having been a massive Bionicle fan herself) and got Vincent to come clean, but it turned out her parents loved hearing Vincent talk about Bionicle even though they had never cared when Lisa was into it, setting up a sibling rivalry between Lisa and Vincent. I think Suburgatory has referenced Lisa being a Bionicle fan before, but I don't remember it ever being this prominent. Vincent even started explaining the part of the 2008 story where Takanuva got part of his light drained by the Shadow Leeches. Quote
