Lego Otaku Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I recall a thread like this but I couldn't find it so either I didn't use the right key word, the search feature is broken, or the old thread was deleted. I was watching the movie The Witches and LEGO is seen quite often throughout the movie. It's pretty obvious the main set is the 6990 monorailset. SS below: blue dome is also from 6990 set bottom of 2 straight track segments The front piece is from Blacktron set. Mod- if the thread is still around, feel free to merge this and explain why I couldn't find it in the search. Quote

TimeCruiser Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Stargate SG-1 – Season 1 Episode (?) There is the 6339 Shuttle Launch Pad in O'Neill's son's room There is also set 6910 in the same scene as 6339. However, this 1997 episode is inconsistent, since O'Neill's son died in 1994, but set 6339 is from 1995, and set 6910 is from 1996. Also not mentioned so far: Cheaper by the Dozen (the 2003 movie) shows some of the children playing with Insectoid sets. Eureka Season 5 Episode 3 at 2:40, Jo and Sheriff Carter walk past a store with the LEGO logo in the window. Link (Hulu) Quote
Mukaksi Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 It wasn't shown, but once again on the Big Bang Theory Sheldon mentioned "Star Wars LEGOs". I'm wondering when/if he'll mention and/or showcase the Superheroes line, it's right up his alley. it was shown, he built a lego death star. Quote
Gory51 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 The movie Chronicle that I watched last night had the characters testing their telekinetic powers to build a Space Needle tower out of Lego. Was quite a nice discovery :) Chronicle Quote
Vindicare Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Once again, Sheldon mentioned LEGO. He mentioned a "good date" as going to a midnight madness sale to buy LEGO Indiana Jones. He must be a little behind on his LEGOing. Quote

I know some people are like this. Quote
Vindicare Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I just saw a Chevy commercial, a little boy had a wagon full of bricks and was filling in the cracks of concrete he encountered. Must have got the idea from the pictures that are floating around of the bricks filling the voids in walls. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Also, in "Indian in the Cupboard", the kid uses a box from set Sonar Security (6852) to take the Indian to his backyard. Quote
TimeCruiser Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 snipped It's possible that O'Neil couldn't get over the death of his son and kept getting him toys for the next few years. I know some people are like this. Though possible, I would consider that unlikely, considering that the sets were built, and at O'Neill's ex-wife's house. I do not remember any LEGO sets being shown in the movie, and the way O'Neill is presented as a character does not give me the impression that this would be how he would react. Thus, I suspect that the inconsistency is just an oversight on the part of the [TV show] set designers or producers. I checked the Stargate wiki, and the episode in question seems to be Season 1, Episode 7, but I would need to re-watch it to be sure. While the movie takes place in "present day" 1994 (Wikipedia), requiring that O'Neill's son have died no later than that, the Stargate Wiki places the movie events as taking place in 1995, but with O'Neill's son dying in 1996, without an explanation of where that year was derived from. The TV shows have had various differences from the movie, so maybe the time setting of the movie was changed for the TV series, but both the movie and TV show storylines require that O'Neill's son have died before the first adventure through the stargate. Vindicare Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 (edited) Nice! Of course that's not right because that set wasn't available in '93. I spotted 5771 on the desk, too. Major points if they would've used an actual set from '93... Oh well. Edited June 28, 2012 by Legocrazy81 Quote
Oky Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 One of Ben 10's new aliens in Ben 10 Omniverse is called Blocks and is made out of Lego bricks. His power is it to take the shape of any kind of construction, but the downside to him is that he is very fragile. You can see him in action here. Too bad Lego doesn't seem to have the license anymore. This would have made a perfect set. Quote

Lothos Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) "Shipping Wars" Dan Brown's brick museum was a repeat episode, one of the shippers had to deliver a Lego dragon and something else for the band downstairs. Edited August 19, 2012 by Fugazi added link Quote
Fugazi Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I'm merging this with the LEGO in Film and TV topic. Next time please try to find a more descriptive title/post, I'm not sure that everyone here (especially outside the USA) knows what "Shipping wars" is supposed to be. Quote

Oky Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 In the Norfolk Southern "City of Possibilities" commercial, some Lego bricks can be seen in the foreground in some of the shots. Quote
Vindicare Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 BBCAmerica's "The Nerdist" had a female nerd appreciation episode. The first girl featured was a LEGO girl. They introduced her with a video of her showing 7965 and a speed build of it. They gave her a challenge of building the new X-Wing in the shows span(1 hour). Quote
LEGO Historian Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) One of the chapters (Chapter 71) of my Unofficial LEGO Sets/Parts Collectors Guide (1949-90s) is devoted to LEGO TV commercials (actual online links from the LEGO DVD or download) of the last 54 years. This was put together by an American AFOL (he gets full credits). The oldest commercial? A 1958 German commercial about the 1950s style Town Plan... (including a Masonite building board)... "Wir bauen eine Stadt".... We're building a city... When the man at the end steps on a (#310) Esso Service Station a voice says "watch out".... to which another voice replies "no problem, LEGO is made of Cellidor (Cellulose Acetate) by the Bayer Corporation and won't get broken". Also interestingly enough (as seen at the end of the video)... TLG actually shows HO Scale Trains used with the Town Plan system. This is seen in 1956-58 Ideas booklets, as well as commercials. Oky Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 In the end credits of one of the Adventure Time episodes, the Frederator Studios logo was a LEGO bust of the Frederator robot. Also, in the 1989 movie The Wizard, the main character Jimmy can be seen playing with Duplo. Quote
