Sariel Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) Need a ride? Need to tow a glacier somewhere, too? Photos, reading & the RobotC control program are here: http://sariel.pl/201...kt-7428-rusich/ Remember, it's powered by NXT, but fueled by vodka ;) Edited May 4, 2013 by Sariel Quote
z3_2drive Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 woah, just saw this pop up, looks amazing! are the outriggers pneumatic? Quote
Sariel Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Nope, small linear actuators + PF Medium motor. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I saw this pop up too! Very impressive. Beautifully detailed. Quote
efferman Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 is it only the vid or is the tank carrier in the front deeper than on the back? Quote
Sariel Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Yes, because of the independent suspension the front end sags a little. Keep in mind, it's a really heavy beast. Quote
efferman Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Yes, because of the independent suspension the front end sags a little. Keep in mind, it's a really heavy beast. would adding more weight on the back and harder shock absorbers an solution? Quote
Sariel Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 I doubt it. More weight on back will only make the rear end sag down, and as for the shock absorbers, there is SIX of the hardest ones in the front axle alone, and a total of 14 in the whole model. Quote
timslegos Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Certainly a good looking MOC. I would love to see what the frame looks like to be able to support all of that weight. tim Quote
Boxerlego Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Looks Great! Even for LEGO transporting a tank looks challenging. Quote
rm8 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 How the real Yes, because of the independent suspension the front end sags a little. Keep in mind, it's a really heavy beast. Do the real transporter have this problem? Or there is a self-leveling system that holds loaded and unloaded transporter at the same level? Quote

Sariel Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Do the real transporter have this problem? I'm not sure, but I suppose the real vehicle has the vital advantage of not being made of plastic :) Quote
Chilly Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Brilliant, love the way the 5th wheel locks in. Looked like the maintenance crew were leaving early :-) Quote
Someonenamedjon Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I wonder if it is as strong as effe's current project... Quote
Sariel Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 How many hamsters you can fit in this? All of them. Quote
rm8 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) Vodka transporter:))))) Edited May 4, 2013 by rm8 Quote
Technyk32231 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Need a ride? Need to tow a glacier somewhere, too? Remember, it's powered by NXT, but fueled by vodka ;) Haha, very funny!!! Alcohol does burn though, so it's possible...... Does the frame flex at all? It seems like the wheels aren't moving straight up and down, but in an arc, like a swing axle. Vodka transporter:))))) To bring the larger packages right to people's doorsteps.....if the driver does't drink it first. Quote
Lost_In_Noise Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 This is just amazing. I can see where you spend your time, apart from writing book(s?) Quote
