Altezza Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Hi all, this ist my first LEGO-project after the dark ages. Helm´s Deep in plastic - started in august 2012 Sorry for the sparse description.. My english is really bad! ..less words - more pictures Thanks for looking and i hope you like it.. flickr: http://www.flickr.co...57631303846332/ Quote
kibosh Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Wow! Love your various techniques fo building your walls! Quote
ZCerberus Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 That is certainly large! This is quite the project! Quote
Eurolock Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I've commented on this before on Flickr. Frankly the scale is utterly mind-boggling. How on earth did you manage to accumulate all those light bluish gray tiles? Particularly the 2x4s? You are going to need a staggering number of Uruks to go along with this. Still, some people have amassed a suitable sized army.... http://mocpages.com/moc.php/359665 Quote
rpmac91 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 That is very impressive. I can't wait to see the final product! Quote
Timber Jackalope Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I love that broken wall! Very, very nice build! Quote
jmagaletta Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Love this. Absolutely amazing job and it isnt even finished yet!!! Quote
Deathleech Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Very nice, and absolutely massive! This might be one of the biggest Helm's Deep MOCs I have ever seen when finished. Do you plan on doing any of the mountain behind the keep or on the sides? Also a suggestion, when you start making the base maybe you could use some more of the sand green and darker gray bricks to help break up the monotone light gray a little? Quote
Str0ngbad Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Wow! This is such a polished looking project. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to seeing more pictures. Quote
KristofBD Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Very impressive - especially the round walls. I agree with Deathleech: it would even look better if you slightly varied the colour scheme. But overall, extremely impressive! Quote
Altezza Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Thanks @all for the positive feedback! I've commented on this before on Flickr. Frankly the scale is utterly mind-boggling. I know the 1300 Uruk-hai in the link. Its amazing! I have 370 Uruk-hai, 500 I want to have.. Very nice, and absolutely massive! This might be one of the biggest Helm's Deep MOCs I have ever seen when finished. Do you plan on doing any of the mountain behind the keep or on the sides? Thanks! yes I plan to build the mountains in the background. the details in sand green and darker gray comes at the end.. The latest update.. Quote
deanorth Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I know a moutain of words in french to describe how stunned I am, but "wahou" we'll be enough in english.. I've failed to understand how you created those amazing round walls till you mentionned 2x4 tiles...:) Quote
jmagaletta Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Where are you going to keep this thing? That is my question. Also what is next. I think an Amon Sul would be smaller but awesome and doable. Otherwise I don't know Orthanc? Quote
kibosh Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Can you post some detail pictures of your wall constructions? Are the curved walls sturdy? Quote
Brickington Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I am speechless This the best Helm's Deep I have seen! Incredible and large and awesome are all understatements! Plus you have a huge army of Rohans! Quote
Sered Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 OMG ... it's amazing! I have no words for describing your work ... I love how you realized the walls and details. Quote
Missing Brick Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Your first MOC you say? How about starting with something a little less challenging? May a 2:1 scale model of the Eiffel Tower or Sistine Chapel? Seriously though - great job. The scale actually looks larger than the film. I think they could have withstood the assault if the walls were that high and thick. Quote
Altezza Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Many thanks @all!! I know a moutain of words in french to describe how stunned I am, but "wahou" we'll be enough in english.. Where are you going to keep this thing? That is my question. Also what is next. I think an Amon Sul would be smaller but awesome and doable. Otherwise I don't know Orthanc? Next project? I don´t know.. maybe Minas Morgul?! Can you post some detail pictures of your wall constructions? Are the curved walls sturdy? I hope recognizes the Wall-technic? I'm at a loss for words! Thanks! I am speechless This the best Helm's Deep I have seen! Incredible and large and awesome are all understatements! Plus you have a huge army of Rohans! Many thanks! OMG ... it's amazing! I think they could have withstood the assault if the walls were that high and thick. Many thanks! It really is my first model. The Eiffel Tower in 2:1 - that would be 648 meters.. too much for me The exact scale is difficult to maintain. This is AWESOME !!!! Thanks! Quote
Bytor Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 This is absolutely stunning! I really enjoy Helm's Deep mocs, as i have built one myself too :). I wish you luck and cannot wait to see the end result. Quote
