Anyhow, what are your favorite quote that people have said.

My favorite one- oh, there is nothing better than an argument between racing drivers is there?

James Thompson on Antony Reid after a BTCC race- He should not be a racing driver- he should be the clown in a circus!

What are yours?

Nice topic!

Here are some of my favorite quotes.

Can you guess from who they are???

Death is nothing; but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily.

History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

Take time to deliberate, but when the time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in.

The best way to keep one's word is not to give it.

Victory belongs to the most persevering.

Haven't you forgot this one?: "The most dangerous moment comes after the victory" by Napoleon Bonaparte.

That's my favorite by the way...

"Von Roy's Law: Honesty is the best policy - there's less competition."

I like that one! There are far too many to mention out there but a few of my favs are:

"Imagination is more important than knowledge" Einstein

"The Bible is a rock from which all the hammers of criticism have never chipped a single fragment" Isaac Newton

And pretty much everything Jesus said ;-)

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

- Samuel L. Jackson (Jules Winnfield), Pulp Fiction

That's one of the only ones I can really think of now. But I'm sure there are loads more lurking in the recesses of my mind.

My favourite quote comes from the former British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill, he said it in the second world war after the RAF had secured the British airspace in the Battle of Britain, in doing so avoiding the Nazi invasion:

Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

I live in the Managerial Age, in a world of "Admin." The greatest evil is not now done in those sordid "dens of crime" that Dickens loved to paint. It is not done even in concentration camps and labour camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voices. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern.

C. S. Lewis (1898 - 1963)

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

Buddha (563 - 483 B.C.)

Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious.

Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900)

And my favorite:

One morning after a beautiful snowfall I sent a letter to a friend

Good to see a C.S. Lewis quote. He has many brilliantly insightful comments and is one of the finest thinkers Ireland ever produced.

"The harder you work, the luckier you get. " (Gary Player, but probably based on a Thomas Jefferson quote - "I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have".) Actually nearly anything by Thomas Jefferson, the wisest American of all time http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/..._jefferson.html

"Work expands to fill the time available." (Parkinson's law)

"Dattebayo" (Naruto)

"Sasuke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (Naruto).

Oh, and if you got the feeling from these that basically I work like a dog, and I watch Naruto in my free time.... you'd have 90% of my life these days.

Probably my favorite quote "If practise makes perfect, but nobody is perfect, why should i practise?" :-P

I thought it was, 'If practice makes perfect, and we go to school to practice, but nobody is perfect, so why do we go to school?'

That's my way of saying it I told my teacher that one when she said practice makes perfect! :-D (she got really mad!)

Not a sensible one:

"Bruce Willis dies!" My friend referring to 'Armageddon', thus 'accidentally' spoiling it for another of my friends. Its now become a bit of a catchphrase.

What was the point of all that!? All it does is shoot you, it doesn't make breakfast at all!
Truth is the safest lie.
One death is a tragedy. A million deaths is a statistic.

I'm horrible at remembering who said something.
