suit up! (the last picture i took before taking apart the Hall for redesign :cry_happy: )

=======================================================================================

UPDATE: Monday May 13th - I worked out a deal with a friend-of-a-friend who owns a local hobby/toy shop. He gave me 5 Extremis sets and in return I'll display my MOC at his store and provide detailed instructions on how to customize for his customers. This means 10 more armors, bringing the total to 35!

I will need to completely re-do the "Hall" - I dont want to continue stacking levels of 5 armors at a time. I dont have enough bricks for that anyway.

A completely redesigned MOC will be coming soon!

UPDATE: Sunday May 12th - NEW ARMORS ADDED

"Hall of Armor + HulkBuster Mk2 Hanger"

(Mods - please lock / delete my old thread. Original work-in-progress here: eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82319)

I built a lot of model cars and Gundam kits back in the day, but this is the first time I've ever put paint on Lego figures. I think I did an okay job though. Any comments or suggestions are more than welcome!

Thank you for looking and please enjoy....

This is AWSOME. I hate to think how much all that armor must have cost you (especially the helmet parts)

Thank you! Yes, its very hard to find just iron man helmets on eBay or other resell sites. I had to get several of the Extremis Boat sets to get all of them =(

Spent way too much, I wont be picking up any new sets during the next 2 months most likely haha

Very nice! Why is this your last post?

Thank you! I figured this would be my last post for Iron Man related MOC's. To be honest though, the customization was so fun that I sorta want to do some more :sceptic:

I have no space for more armors though

Oh, okay, cool. You should make more customs!

Wow, Truly amazing when I saw all the armor lined up :cry_happy: Lego should seriously consider making something like this. The blue ones are my favorite by far, keep on building.

THank you! I added some new armors just now

Wow, awesome project! I've wanted to do something like this lately but the Iron Man minifigure's pretty expensive to buy alone. How many armors do you plan to make total? Are you shooting for all 42?

Thank you! Yes, but when you compare it to buying the ones from resellers off eBay ($30-$60 each), it's alot cheaper to just customize them yourself. A steady hand and some paint can go a long way. As long as you pay close attention to detail, you'll come out with a clean custom. Mixing your paints to create different colors is also economical. Decals are also really convenient (use a hobby knife and ruler vs. scissors for a cleaner cut).

This is actually the quickest build i've had lately (3 days total, from scratch-to-build and customization/painting). I'm tempted to make more, but i've spent too much already and im running low on bricks (grey, dark grey) :cry_sad:

What a great idea! Love the reversed suits, which is an affordable way to build out the range. I am eyeing the Beetle torso front and back now thinking it could be a good custom for one of the suits.

:classic:

This is absolutely fantastic!

thank you! The current set up actually doesnt use any more reversed suits (i decided to use some decals instead). The backside of the beetle torso however looks very good! You'd just need to put in an arc reactor and you'd be set! The Mk. 42 torso backside is also really nice to use.

This is such a great MOC becauseBatman! All of your hard work has really paid off. I personally think your new design model will be even better than this one. Great Job

I'd like to see a few really high def close ups of the customs (might need a new camera :P).

i'll be posting up-close pics once all of the armors are completed. I'm still waiting on some breast-plates and other accessories coming in from eBay =)

Nice use of my decal designs! It's nice to see something that previously was only a render as a real minifig!

Yes, you did a great job!

I used the following:

Bones (Torso + Legs)

Bleeding Edge (Torso + Legs)

Shotgun (Torso)

Mk. 2 (Torso)

Red Snapper (Torso + Legs)

Mk. 5 (Torso + legs)

I will most likely use all of these except the Red Snapper for the final armory.

Nice use of my decal designs! It's nice to see something that previously was only a render as a real minifig!

Woah. Nice one becauseBATMAN!

You have a beautiful collection of bley. Love it!!! Which suit is your favorite?

(I also find it humorous that your username conflicts with your minifigures. Just kidding, love it all!)

Thank you! I am working on a few more customs - most likely the Prometheum-inspired one will be my favorite (pic below). HAHA yeah i was waiting for someone to make a comment about my username

Awesome work there. Where can I get more information/pics on all possible Iron Man armor versions and, speaking of LEGO's, how to tell them apart?

Thx.
