February 24, 200718 yr I can't imagine an acceptably sized, decent looking Eifel tower without too much Technic in it. A brick built version would be too big. Now, from what I recall, Legomilk usually has the goods.... so that's the only thing that makes me hting this could be true. Exactly, they might give us an eifel tower, a crap small one :-D That brandenberg gate looks great *y*
February 24, 200718 yr I say that it would be great when TLC releases some reallooking models like the Eiffel Tower. And when this number is really a set, it would be nice when they made up several national monuments, or buildings, from different country's. When they keep going on with this kind of sets they're on the right way. One more thing, it has got to be 'payful', so not that it will be that expensive as the 10179 Millennium Falcon. Let's hope this one is real!!! I say that it would be great when TLC releases some reallooking models like the Eiffel Tower. February 24, 200718 yr Could you give me some more information on this set, please? I haven't known about this one before and it looks interesting... :-) It's a micro-scale FACTORY set, available in the U.S. but sold out. It seems only the airport is left in the European countries. Here's the Bricklink entry. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=5526-1 it's expensive enough normally but the price has been needlessly marked up even more recently! *wacko* (usually the price is very good considering the piece count, minifig-less sets tend to be that way) Note to all unsuspecting members; don't take Lego2000 too seriously.
February 25, 200718 yr I hope its not like that. if the actual building is tiny, I'll eat myself. -ZotS
March 1, 200717 yr Well, I found a pic of the Eiffel Tower set ;-) Enjoy! Ouch that promo is really :-X It really doesn't do much justice to the magnificent "Grande Dame" ;-) 10181 is Eiffel Tower not the 10178 So it is real then ? I am so excited by this 8-
March 1, 200717 yr Well, I found a pic of the Eiffel Tower set ;-) Enjoy! -l2k- Wow! That's craptastic! :-X
March 1, 200717 yr Well that's obviously not the actual set :-P Well it's obvious now that you used this emoticon :-P I honestly thought that was it. They make some pretty dumb promotional sets at the parks. Perhaps I should read the whole topic instead of just browsing the pictures. Is there a full eiffel tower sets coming out with hundreds of pieces? Well it's obvious now that you used this emoticon :-P I honestly thought that was it. Is there a full eiffel tower sets coming out with hundreds of pieces? Now that I've read the topic, I understand...
March 1, 200717 yr I don't understand...Anyway...The 10181 set is really *n* :-X ! Like Yoda said, "It really doesn't do much justice to the magnificent "Grande Dame"". And of cours! The curves of the tower are not good. Mr. Gustave Eiffel was a great builder (I think that he would had been an AFOL if he had known LEGO...) and made a lot of work for this tower. And after some arithmetics, he found that the tower need to have a triangular form, with a bigger base and a finer point. So this is why the tower has 3 parts, the middle part making the transition between the 2 others. This tower is a great model of mechanical stability. The picture above is NOT 10181! That's some crappy little Legoland promotion set :-P
March 1, 200717 yr I wasn't saying the tower itself looks bad, the rendering in 10181 set is terible.
March 1, 200717 yr Wow! That's craptastic! :-X Now that I've read the topic, I understand... And I assumed you were living up to your title :-D
March 1, 200717 yr The picture above is NOT 10181! That's some crappy little Legoland promotion set :-P I have though that this little promotional crappy set was the 10181... Sorry! 10178 "became" 10181... Ok!
March 2, 200717 yr Sorry for all the confusion guys, but as MOST of you ( :-P ) can tell, it is was an ambassador set, which has the most 1x1 with studs on all sides than any other set. -l2k-
March 4, 200717 yr Hey all, Check this out! (found by Sam89, of course) After a search on the internet, I found out that the Eiffel Tower apparently has 3600 pieces and is in dark grey. That's the second biggest set ever (behind the Falcon, of course ;-)) !
March 4, 200717 yr That's the second biggest set ever (behind the Falcon, of course ) ! I hope it doesn't cost as much though!
