Which set should I buy?

I have about 250CAD (around 220US) and don't know whether to purchase a set that is available now for Christmas, or wait until January 2nd to head to the LEGO Store and pick up the Brick Bank.

I'm into modular buildings (got them all except BB) and Star Wars (got the UCS X-Wing and Slave I), but I also like other expert / UCS / big sets (Tumbler, Simpson House, Mini Cooper, etc.).

Can anyone help me decide which set(s) I should purchase?

Quick-E-Mart, Ferris Wheel, or Airjitzu Temple were awesome sets from this year that should be available now for that budget. Don't know if you're into The LEGO Movie at all but if you are, then now might be the last chance you can pick up the Seacow if you can even still find it anywhere.

Hi Terrasher, the UCS Tumbler is a great set but may I also suggest the UCS Tie Fighter. Some people don't like it but personally it is a great set and quite impressive once completed.

I have a huge Classic Space and Futuron collection - it's the bulk of all the Lego that I own. I'm thinking about selling it off and collecting Pirates 1 instead.

Yes. I wouldn't sell off a Classic Space collection for pretty much anything. Too valuable.

I'd say the question is - do you need to sell one collection off to start another? If you do, then the choice between Space and Pirates is perfectly fine. People start and restart collections all the time. But if you don't need to drop one, I'd say keep the Space collection just in case you don't end up liking Pirates so that you don't regret it later. If anything I would at least recommend keeping some of the Space, because there's almost always a nostalgia factor with collections one used to own.

so yea.... which one to choose?

Naboo starfighter Is a Very Good choice,comes with decent minifigs and overall content for the price...

Either of the Star Wars choices. With Star Wars blowing currently, sets are going to be selling out faster than normal. Other themed sets will still be accessible, but I doubt a lot of Star Wars material will be around after the holidays. If I had to choose between the two, I would also go with the Naboo Starfighter.

I was planning to get the Naboo starfighter set, but guess what.. sold out

So I think I'm going for the wookie gunship (20 euro) or should I get a 2nd FO Snowspeeder (5 euro )

Besides those most sets are sold out or some just have ridiculous prices like I mentioned in my post above.

Most star wars sets are sold out, they have rey's speeder and AAT (already have AAT) for normal prices, the constraction figures which I'm not interested in and last but not least the Imperial assault carrier which would cost me 90 euro with the discount I have.

So yea... Wookie gunship, Imperial assault carrier, Rey's speeder, 2nd AAT or 2nd FO Snowspeeder?

I don't like any of the set choices at here, but I still gonna prefer the Hulk Lab smash set more. The minifigures in the set is great and the actual build is the least lousy in all the sets in your list. (Although it's still lousy)

If you are having doubts, just go for the oldest sets that looks worthwhile. Have a look at the minifigures as well since some have little chance to return any time soon.

I would pick:

- Daily Bugle Duel

I wouldn't pick the Hulk Lab Smash since all the minifigures will return in future sets (except for MODOK that is.)

I'd go for the Hulk Lab Smash or Daily Bugle. The lab has some great minifigures and the play features are actually well-implemented. The Bugle, with a little modification, can go well with any City layout. I'd say the Bugle has a better build but the Lab has better figures.

The Bugle for sure. Fun play features, as well as a tall building that works well with sets such as City Corner and Bank and Money Transfer.

I agree with Nova. Contraction figures of human characters usually don't come out that well, and you'd be much better off getting Grievous.

The Parisian Restaurant is a classic set. It's one of the best sets I own. The layout and sheer level of detail set it apart from the rest of the modulars.

I'd pick up the Hulkbuster set for sure. The other sets have great minifigures, but the actual build is kinda average compared to the Hulkbuster.
