Glacarcheo Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Hello all! *cough*topic*cough*revival*cough* Okay, so I'm into the new fantasy era castle sets, but twenty is a lot of sets, so I might not be able to get them all. If I wanted to eliminate a few, which should they be? Quote

nadnerb112 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 My birthday is coming and i one to know if i should get the space truck and robo attack or hyperspeed pursuit and gold heist. Please tell me which two i should buy. Quote
Siegfried Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 In future please post questions like this here. If everyone asked questions like this in individual topics the site would be flooded... I'll merge this later and move it now. Quote
Raphy Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I know this topic is probably going to be deleted soon, but I'd buy Hyperspeed Pursuit and Space Truckin' :D Quote
ILikePi Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I wouldn't recommend buying Gold Heist. It's really skeletal, and Frenzy has almost no color. You can also read reviews of some of the sets to help you decide on what to get: Gold Heist - Second Review Hyperspeed Pursuit Robo Attack - Second Review If you can, I would get Robo Attack and Hyperspeed Pursuit. If you can only get one larger set and one of the medium sized sets, I would go for either Robo Attack or Hyperspeed Pursuit, and Space Truck Getaway. I hope you can decide on what to get, and happy early birthday! Quote

nadnerb112 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Thanks for your answers.Im probaly gonna buy robo attack or hyperspeed prusuit with space truck.Sorry about putting this in the wrong place im kinda new at this stuff. Quote
Glacarcheo Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Thanks guys, I've narrowed it down to eight sets: King's Castle Seige, Dwarves' Mine, Skeleton Tower, Trolls Mountain Fortress, Medieval Market Village, Troll Warship, Tower Raid, and Drawbridge Defense. So anyone wanna tell me which of the Clone Wars sets are the best? Quote
prateek Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) Clone BP IMO for sure is the best CW set, and second is the Republic Attack Shuttle and third is the AT-TE Edited July 29, 2009 by prateek Quote

HumanPackMule Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Clone BP IMO for sure is the best CW set, and second is the Republic Attack Shuttle and third is the AT-TE Don't forget the V-19. It has the highest swooshability in the line Quote
Glacarcheo Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Okay so this will be (one of) the last time(s)I post here. Are there any other great PM sets other than the four I have (Claw Digger, Boulder Blasted, Crystal Sweeper, and Thunder Driller)? I was thinking maybe the Underground Mining Station... Quote
Oky Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Okay so this will be (one of) the last time(s)I post here. Are there any other great PM sets other than the four I have (Claw Digger, Boulder Blasted, Crystal Sweeper, and Thunder Driller)? I was thinking maybe the Underground Mining Station... No! Get the Crystal King! Seriously though, the Cave Crusher seems to be a good one, so I would wait for that to come out. But then again, if you already have so many of the vehicles, you might need a base for them, so the UMS seems like a good idea as well. On the other hand, that set has few figs and has kind of a pointless design. But anything can be modded. It depends on what you want. Btw, why are you so sure you aren't going to post anymore? Quote

When I said I wasn't going to post much anymore, I was referring to this topic alone. That's because I'm making a wish list, and when I'm done, I won't need much advice, just a huge wallet! Okay, so I take it the Crystal King isn't the best? Hmm... I do need a base, but that Cave Crusher looks nice... How much will it be, I might have to get both. EDIT: The only set I'm having second thoughts about is the Rock Wrecker. Is it any good? Edited July 31, 2009 by Glacarcheo Quote
prateek Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Don't get the Crystal King The Rock Wrecker looks promising to me, and so does Cave Crusher. It depends on the price of the Cave Crusher to decide which one though. Quote

That's because I'm making a wish list, and when I'm done, I won't need much advice, just a huge wallet! I see. Okay, so I take it the Crystal King isn't the best? Well, it's kinda good for parts, but the set design obviously sucks (except for that neat back-mounted drill thingy). As a set, the mine mech is a much better choice. The only set I'm having second thoughts about is the Rock Wrecker. Is it any good? Not really IMO. To me, it looks like a Technic construction with wheels and blades attached to it and some <insert that tiresome argument> pieces on top. You can find a review of it here, and probably more on brickshelf. So, the best idea for you would probably be to get the UMS and start saving up for the Cave Crusher. Quote
Glacarcheo Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Thanks guys, I'm going to get the UMS and wait for the Cave Crusher. Now I need to decide which of my favorite Castle sets are, I already have a list of eight, but, alas, it is an expensive list. Could someone tell me if any of the are boring, not fun, or poorly designed? Dwarves' Mine Tower Raid Troll Warship Drawbridge Defense King's Castle Siege Skeleton Tower Trolls' Mountain Fortress Medieval Market Village Thanks in advance. Quote
Oky Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Sounds like a good list (although it is indeed an expensive one). A problem I see is that some of the sets are selling/sold out, so it'll be hard to obtain those, like castle siege, skeleton tower, and warship. I have one good news though: Target has its Lego clearance right now, and it includes tower raid, so if you want that set, you should try to find a Target store that still has it. Quote

Cool, there's a Target 2 mins. away from my house with Tower Raid in stock! Also, are there any from that list I should take off, I can't afford it all. (I was thinking MMV) Quote
Oky Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Well, personally, I don't think that castle siege is such a great set as it is made out of mostly just <insert that tiresome argument> wall and BURP pieces. If you get tower raid, drawbridge defence, and other crownie sets and put them together, you'll probably end up with a better castle than that in castle siege. Also, even though the warship is a cool set, it will probably be enough to get the troll fortress as that one comes with much better figs and is more useful because it provides your trolls with a base. Besides, the warship has no other ship to oppose. And if you ask me, the design of the Dwarves mine is kind of pointless, but it's still a nice set I guess. The Market Village, on the other hand, is a total must-buy! Let's hope it'll go on sale eventually, just like many other expensive S@H exclusives. Btw, the Troll Assault Wagon is on clearance in Target as well, just in case you don't have that one yet or could use a second one. Quote

Glacarcheo Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 All of the sets on my wishlist are on LEGO S@H, except the skeleton tower. I can only find it starting at 75$ () on Bricklink. Obviously I'm not getting it, I hope I'm not missing out on a great set! Quote
