I only saw it in Ep. 1 when Gunray was taken prsioner close to the end. I believe they landed on Naboo then take captive. Quote
Oky Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 That's correct. It was featured in all the PT movies, in fact, as well as six CW episodes. In Ep.III, it was the ship that Grievous used to land on Utapau right before telling Sidious about Dooku's defeat. And did you know that Lego's version, Gunray's personal Sheathipede-class shuttle, is called the Lapiz Cutter? Quote

I thought he came in the Souless One because it was parked on a platform. When was it in Ep. 2 though? Quote

JCC1004 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 When Gunray escaped from Geonosis. SNIP It's been awhile since I've seen those. I don't rember all of these little things. Atleast I know it's not just CW. I got the fighter tank because it was in Battlefront II and it's a over all great ship. Quote
The Who Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) Then again, I remember a lot of people not liking the Sailer and therefore not getting it, so it may not sell out that fast.I hated it, and got it anyway just for the Dooku. Then Lego had to go and ruin it by putting him in a magnet pack.I don't have much cash now after TOD so I'll wait a little longer and hope it goes on sale. I know it's overpriced but the ship has a vey nice shape and will probably look nice on display. I'll prbably find room for both. There you go again with the word 'Probably,' but how it looks all depends on how you display it. There are not many sets that look good beside the sailer, but the old Geonosian fighter looks great with it.If you really want it, I wouldn't risk waiting for a sale. The stores around here all sell out on the first day of a sale, so I always buy before that, at regular price. Edited August 13, 2009 by booger540 Quote

I really love the old geonosain Starfighter. Wish I had one. It's still a little early to decide. Niw Imight get the dhuttle first since I can get it easier or I could get the sailer. Quote
ziljin Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) Are the bigger sets say 50USD to 100+USD worth it if I only plan on making MOC's. I feel like I would be wasting the effort Lego made into designing the set, if I am only going to gut it for useful parts and and brick filler. Maybe I should buy 2(or any even number) of each set. That way I can have one set built and the rest for MOC's. But that would cost a lot of money. By the time I could afford to buy them they will probably be discontinued. So far I have been buying at least 2 of each set. Well a few I only bought one of, so I was thinking I should get an extra copy of those sets. That way I can have an even number of bricks. So far I have been mostly buying cheap sets. Bought 2 dozers though since they were on sale for 30 USD instead of the usual 40 USD. I guess I could normally buy 2's of small-medium sets. Then buy 2's of the larger sets only if on sale and not fret over any OOP sets. Edited August 13, 2009 by lego40k Quote

Etzel Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 People normally get large sets for the actual model, instead of the parts I think that differs very much from person to person actually. I never keep my sets built longer than a month (mostly just a few days), that is because I love to build MOCs and want to make my own models. Some big sets are perfect parts pack, like 7094 King's Castle Siege. I don't feel like I'm "wasting the effort" LEGO put in to design the sets, after all I use the parts therefore I use the set To me LEGO's main purpose is to be built with and therefore I see no reason for my sets to stay the way LEGO made them. For me the main problem is to decide if a set contains enough useful parts to be worth to buy, not if it looks nice. Quote
-JD- Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 A second AT-TE on sale for £50 or the newer SW sets? I need your input for this one, because I am torn between the two. Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 A second AT-TE on sale for £50 or the newer SW sets? I need your input for this one, because I am torn between the two. The AT-TE will probably not be around much longer and the newer sets will. £50 is a good deal. What do you want a second for? Parts? Army builder? You always could get the new sets later or risk not getting the AT-TE on sale. Quote
prateek Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 (edited) Get the AT-AT first and then get the new sets for christmas or some other occasion Edited August 15, 2009 by prateek Quote
-JD- Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Well, I may use it for parts or army building. My mum doesn't want me to get it. What you guys are saying is exactly what I thought. Thanks, I'lll tell you later if I can get it or not. Quote

ziljin Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) I bought 3 Gold Heists off of Amazon.com Pretty useful bricks, and nice minifigs. But the actual build is somewhat unsatisfactory. It's a bit flimsy since half of the parts just move around freely. And there are no side windows to protect the pilot from the vaccums of space lol. Not that its a bad buy or anything. But don't expect much if you are just straight building it. Edited August 17, 2009 by lego40k Quote

My friend has it, but I was to busy playing with it to notice anything . I'll ask him. In the meantime, I'll just scratch Gold Heist. Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I've realized I can get RBR and something around 100. My ideas are Home One, Endor, or MMV. If someone could give some help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Quote

Well, I personally like to get mixed themes when I go shopping, but that may just be me. The two Indy sets are both great buys. The SP3 sets are good, but not great, especially Gold Heist is kinda as mentioned above. I wouldn't get Vader TIE unless it's on sale. The Sep Shuttle and CATD have both equally great figs, but the shuttle is a slightly better set since it has an interior and other neat playability features. On the other hand, the CATD is on sale for 20% off at Target this week, so that might be a better value. If you want to make use of that sale, go ahead and get it and another $20-30 set such as the Sep Shuttle or Space Truck Getaway. If not, I'd say, get the Indy sets and maybe even throw in a K-9 as well. Hope that helped. I've realized I can get RBR and something around 100. My ideas are Home One, Endor, or MMV. If someone could give some help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. As I have said many times before, I don't think Home One is all that great, especially compared to such excellent sets such as Endor & MMV. MMV is pretty much a perfect set: Great design, great minifigs, and great parts. Also, it has been out a little longer than Endor, so it might sell out sooner. Endor is very good as well, design and minifigwise, but it doesn't have too many special parts. I guess it depends whether you like SW or Castle better, but MMV might be a better buy. Quote

If someone could give some help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. That's a hard one. All of those sets are really good. I'd go for the Endor or the MMV because the Home One doesn't have that "charm". It looks too bare with all those technic pieces exposed. Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I'm not much of a castle fan( 3 sets wow!) but was thinking about it. Again Home One has nice figs. This one will take some time. My brother was planning on getting Endor so I'll look at his. Quote

Again Home One has nice figs. Yeah, but nothing else special. It's a good idea to get a good look at the real thing first. Quote
