JCC1004 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Well, MMV is a good way to start expanding your Castle collection. Yeah, but nothing else special. It's a good idea to get a good look at the real thing first. My Lego store doesn't have many new things. No Indy, and some new SW is missing. I doubt TRU will display Home One. My Lego store had MMV and said to have RBR by the end of this month. I only like the A-wing and control area. Quote
HumanPackMule Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 the new pirate ship or the Troll's Mountain Fortress(I already have a ton of castle stuff to go with it)? Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 The Troll mountain might be better because you have lots of castle stuff. The ship is also more overpriced then the mountain. I got the shuttle and might skip the sailer. If it goes on sale I'm almost certain to get it. Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I'd get Troll Mountain. Should I get the Beach House or the Shanghai Chase Quote
HumanPackMule Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 The beach houselooks better in my opinion Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 The house is nice but no furniture. Shanghai is overpriced. It depends what you're more of a fan of. The beach house is older and might go on sale soon. I own both and since I'm a Indy fan I'd go with it. The beach house set has 3 choices and the beach house(main model) is the best. The apartment has no back and is samll. The cafe doesn't have a removeable roof. Quote
ILikePi Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) Should I get the Beach House *snip* or the Shanghai Chase *snip* It all depends on what you like more. If you like more parts, more models, and a longer build, you should go for the Beach House set. If you like minifigures, more non-basic parts, and really like Indiana Jones, you should get Shanghai Chase. If I were you, I would get the Beach House set, since it has a huge amount of pieces (522), a baseplate, and it weighs over two times as much as Shanghai Chase (according to BrickLink, but that might just be from the weight of the instructions). Good luck on choosing a set to buy! Edited August 21, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
Erdbeereis Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I really would go with the beach house. It has way more parts for the money. When I took that set apart for the pieces, I thought to myself "what a great deal this set is!". With the Shanghai Chase, the minifigs are lovely and the cars are well designed, but it doesn't really have a good "wow" factor if you know what I mean. Quote
salty tbone Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I, too, would vote for the beach house. I really like the minifigs in the Indy set, but for value, the beach house is where it's at. Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I know I've had alot of post here but I like to plan ahead. Darth Vader's TIE or Hoth trench?( why should it be called echo base?) Quote

Darth Vader's TIE, unless... a. you already have the UCS version of Vader's TIE b. you are nuts about the Tauntaun my $0.02 Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I'd get Echoe Base because of the Tauntaun and the figs. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I know I've had alot of post here but I like to plan ahead. Darth Vader's TIE or Hoth trench?( why should it be called echo base?) Ooh tricky one. I have both, so I can't decide but I'll give you the features of each. Vaders TIE: Cool Ship Two Flick Fire Missiles Opening Cockpit (You have to stuff him in there) Darth Vader Silver-Hilted Lightsaber Defense of Echo Base: Taun Taun Two Rebels Han Solo Two Snowies Gunning Turret (With Flickfires, opening side door, and opening top hatch, and swivel) Trench that "explodes" (works really well!) E-web And Vader's TIE is 10 dollars more. I really like them both though! Quote
prateek Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Beach House vs Shanghai Chase Vader's TIE vs Hoth Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I think I'll go with Hoth. Those two battle packs are going to be Hoth ones and would complemt it nicely. My brother has both of these and 7666 Echo Base to go along with it. I should have gotten one too. at least that Target sale wasn't to big. probably should have gotten it instead of Sep Shuttle. Mission Commander Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Should I get the new Tantive 4 for 150$ or the 6211 Imperial star destroyer for 120$? Quote
Bammboso Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Hi, I think the ISD is the better choice. It becomes quite rare and so 120$ is a good deal. For playability reasons the ISD has much more space than the Tantive IV and comes with more minifigs. I´ve really fallen in love with the design of the Tantive IV, but I´ll wait until it gets on sail. 150$ is a lot so I would go with the ISD Quote

nintha Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Should I buy the Fiery Legend or the Fighter Plane Attack ? Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Should I buy theFiery Legend or the Fighter Plane Attack ? Ask yourself this question, which theme are you more inclined to and getting these sets for what purpose? For me, I am an Indiana Jones fan, and getting the Fighter Plane Attack is a must for me, mainly for "completion". Furthermore, it was the first time ever to release such a nice combat plane, but the downside is its hefty price tag. While the Creator Fiery Legend is nicely designed, with its alternate design, I can't provide much insight into this, as this is a relatively new product in my region. Therefore, getting the Fiery Legend will have to determine on your own. Eventually, its up to you to measure the pros and cons. Quote
nintha Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I want to get the Fighter Plane Attack for the planes but I don't have any IJ sets and I want the Fiery Legend for some castle mocs I will work on. I don't collect either themes so that doesn't help either . Any more help? Quote

The bottom line, you will have to measure yourself the extent which is much important for you and asking yourself whether you are able to strench the budget. Since you have some castle mocs to work on, I can assume that you can be considered as a castle collector, and the Fiery Legend could add a nice addition to your setup. Quote

Whitefang's word is better then mine. Here's a review by Whitefang. There is no review on Fiery Legend. You would be using the dragon for some mocs and only that. FPA for the planes for??? I'd love to help. Quote
