prateek Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 If you already have the TRU version, I'd say get another set instead of blowing your $$$ on a similar set. Quote

sok117 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I already have the 7848 ToysRUs City Truck and was wondering since I already have that, is there a point to getting 3221 Lego City Truck or is it somewhat pointless to get 3221? I realize that the difference between the two are the colour it comes in, the mini ToysRUs store and employee minifigure, while the 3221 has more of those mini Lego sets to accompany it. but they do look really nice side by side. Just saying! Quote
General Magma Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Hey all. I'm already making plans for sets to buy myself for Christmas, but I can't choose between the following two sets, which I'll probably still want by then: 8038 Battle of Endor 5985 Space Police Central I got into Space Police once again, and I own all 2009 SP3 sets, except for Squidman's Pitstop and the Max Security Transport. However, I am also into Star Wars, and being into two Sci-Fi related themes may give problems for buying sets, or making MOCs. That is why I'd like to know which one to get first. If anyone could point out which one I should buy, including the reasons stated, I'd appreciate that - I'm horrible at making decisions. Thanks in advance! ~ General Magma Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I would go for battle off endor you get a great AT-ST amazing minifigs and a bunker Quote
sok117 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 One word. Endor. three words. Battle of Endor. Quote

We don't have tru here in indonesia,so i'm getting the 3221. Now i'm confused either getting the general greivous starfighter or saving my money for the T-6 Quote
prateek Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I'd get the GG fighter now, because I think the T-6 is gonna be around for a long time (i.e. beyond 2011), much like the RAS and Palpy's Shuttle. Quote

Locutis Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hi there, I have just ordered today the Grand Emporium. I should receive it next tuesday. I have completed yesterday/today the 1st floor of the fire brigade at about 1am. As the Café Corner and the Market street have disappeared from the catalog, my street will be uncompleted forever. I'm looking forward to the next modular building. Cheers, Fred. You'll love the Grand Emporium. It's truly grand! I really loved building the Cafe Corner I bought used. It was cheaper than what the new ones go for now, and all that I didn't get was the box (well, and a few pieces, but that's life). Maybe a new-condition but used set would suffice to at least fill up your street? Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Since I discovered pictures on this forum of both the Lego Star Wars January sets and Diagon Alley, I've been trying to decide which to get. Bear in mind that I am quite restricted on money at the moment and cannot get both groups of items. There are many factors I must consider before making a decision. Basically, I am asking for your opinion: should I get all the Lego Star Wars January 2011 sets or should i get the Lego Harry Potter Diagon Alley set? I eagerly await your answers... Lord Embo Quote
Big Cam Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I think this question would be better suited in the existing thread for this topic. What LEGO set should I buy? Personally for me though, if I could only get one or the other. I'd go with th SW sets. Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Diagon Alley. No contest. All 2011 SW sets. No contest. Quote
Siegfried Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 I've merged them. Here's my answer; what's more important to you, value or getting both? If in time you want all of the sets I'd buy the Star Wars ones as Diagon Alley should be around longer. But Diagon Alley looks to be the better set in terms of part value. But it's more complicated than that, for example I'd personally buy the Star Wars sets as I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan yet I already own half of the current line. Diagon Alley. No contest. All 2011 SW sets. No contest. Quote

Canada_7 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Thanks for everyone that responded to my question earlier. Indeed it is a bit redundant to get both of those trucks. With that money saved, I have a new question...10199 Winter Toy Shop (which I can get online for 20% off $79.99 from ToysRUs at the moment, but still pay about $8 in shipping), or 4840 The Burrow (which possibly could be part of Zellers in Canada's B1G1 50% off all Lego this week if Zellers carries any of the Harry Potter stuff, which I am not sure about)? Which set would you get when without factoring in what I said in brackets, and what difference would it make if I add all that extra info from the brackets? Quote
happymark Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 picked 10194 and 10193 both. I stopped toysrus this noon but they said IJ sets were not on sale (40%). heck. weird, because in the morning I did see the 40% sign. oh well.
