Enpaz Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 A whole box of CM3 or all the unique CM3s figs + the new police hellicopter? Of course the second option! How needs multiples of all CM, anyway? A definite every fig + copter from me! Quote

Geki Brick Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) What should I buy? Luke's Landspeeder vs. Plo-koon's Jedi Starfighter Will Lego remake these two later? ---Part 2--- Hagrid's Hut vs. Pizza Planet Truck Rescue vs. City House Rank in order of buyability. ---Part 3--- Space Police Central vs. Mon Calamari Star Cruiser (price does not matter) Edited December 14, 2010 by Geki Brick Quote
prateek Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 ---Part 2--- Hagrid's Hut vs. Pizza Planet Truck Rescue vs. City House Rank in order of buyability. I'm not sure about the first part, but my opinion of this second part is as follows: 1) Pizza Planet Truck 2) Hagrid's Hut 3) City House Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Alright gentlemen-- I have a quandary, and a good one at that! I have the 25% Off Coupon for TRU, where I had every intent of getting the 5766 Creator Log Cabin and the 7286 Prisoner Transport, for a total of about $44 USD. Not bad, plus I'll get the free Stormtrooper impulse bag. BUT... I also have a 50% One Item coupon for Borders, where I can get the 8097 Slave 1 (originally marked up at a staggering $94.99 USD) for about $47.50 USD. I originally had no intent of getting the Slave 1, but at that price it's tempting... What's an AFOL to do? Quote

Enpaz Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I also say get it! I have one: I bought it, deboxed it, built it and fell in love with it. And I've loved it ever since. A great set. And the new Boba Fett is to die for! No, not really actually, but he's indeed very awesome. Enpaz Quote
Sam Vimes Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I am thinking of purchasing a big Star Wars Set or something else. I have about 45 bucks.. and I was wondering what are some good sets for 45 dallors. I have thought of getting the Wampa set is it really worth it to buy that. Anyhow if you guys can help me that would be wonderful. Also Mods if you think it would do better move this to the buy trade sell section of the site. I am also a Fan of Harry Potter and Kingdoms along with most of the action themes. Thanks for helping me. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Firstly, $45 will not buy a big SW set. Medium at best. Wampa Cave isn't a bad idea. It's got a good selection of minifigs, plus the Wampa, although I've never like TLG's T-47 design. Personally I'd only buy one SW set in the store with that money, and it would be the midi-ISD. Great parts, great value. Quote
Enpaz Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I am thinking of purchasing a big Star Wars Set or something else. Hi there! My recommendation for you is: Republic Swamp Speeder The Wampa Cave's value is not too great, so if you're not a dedicated Star Wars guy and just looking for a nice set, I wouldn't buy it. Does your local Lego reseller already carry the new 2011 sets? If yes, 7929 Battle of Naboo and the new Battle Packs would be options worth considering. Other worthwhile investments: 8128 Cad Bane's Speeder And if your store still has 7748 Corporate Alliance Droid or 7749 Echo Base - those are also very nice and worth picking up, especially if you can get them on sale! Cheers! Quote
Siscoth Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Hey everyone, I recently bought the tower bridge and im just starting building it. I feel the need to buy a star wars set and I cant decide which one! What would you guys recommend between: Imperial shuttle ( 309$ canadian ) and Tantive 4 ( 200$ canadian ) ? Both seems to fit my collection quite well, but I really cant buy both :( Any help ? :) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Ask it here. Personally, I'd go for the Shuttle. Quote

sok117 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Bounty hunter gunship or t-6 shuttle? I'm looking for the better build, mini-figs matter a little bit. Which one is better for the amount of pieces. Quote
Enpaz Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 If I were you, I'd buy the Bounty Hunter Gunship and buy Shaak Ti or Saeesee Tiin seperately off BrickLink. I find the T6-Shuttle rather unappealing. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Bounty hunter gunship or t-6 shuttle? I'm looking for the better build, mini-figs matter a little bit. Which one is better for the amount of pieces. They have the same amount of pieces, and the T-6 is almost twice as much. Unless you want the minifigs of the T-6 (and you just mentioned you don't really), then I'd go for the Gunship. Besides, the build of the T-6 would probably just be stacking plates and bricks for the most part. Quote

Though much more expensive (but it seems the price won't matter to you), the Shuttle is just far away the better model overall between the two in terms of size and design accuracy. Quote
General Magma Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Hey all, I'm having a hard time deciding which set(s) to get. I can buy General Grievous' starfighter now, or save up a little more up for the new Slave I. I want to have the Slave I set itself, aswell as the minifigs. For General Grievous I would mainly be aiming for the Grievous minifig, but he'll undergo some modifications where I would just need the head and the legs. But, I also need a tri-pod for my camera, to start making stop-motion videos again. The total of a tri-pod + the starfighter would be about €70, and the tri-pod + the Slave I would be around €100. Either those, or another Bricklink order for my Endor project... Thanks in advance. ~ General Magma Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I guess I'm biased as an OT fan, but I would go for Slave 1 over the GG starfighter any day. A tripod can be a big help, though, so you might want to consoder that first over the sets. Quote
Siscoth Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I am also wondering If I should now buy the imperial shutle ( 309$ canadian) or the republic dropshîp ( 349$ canadian) ? Both seems fun but I'm really having a hard time picking. Quote

Both seems fun but I'm really having a hard time picking. If you're aiming for playability, then the Dropship will probably be better. But overall, I'd go with the shuttle. Quote
prateek Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Here's a question for you guys. What do you think is the best set in the price range of $10-15 Canadian. I've got a 7942 fire truck that I want to exchange for something around the same price, give or take a few dollars. Here's an idea of the Canadian prices, for those not in the know. Any set from the $10-15 range, plus the PoP Ostrich Race, since it's 50% off at TRU. The only reason I'm hesitant to get the PoP set is because it looks kinda lacklustre and not worth $27, even though I could get it for $15. Quote
General Magma Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) I have another question here. I'll just forget about the Slave I and GG starfighter for now, this is a bit of a harder choice. OK, so I could buy pieces for my large Endor project on BrickLink now (aswell as another time with my birthday, unless..) or I could start saving up for the 10212 Imperial Shuttle. I will make the Endor diorama anyways, but the process would take longer and I would lack pieces. But I have also wanted the shuttle for quite some time. I could make a landing pad for it to be placed in my Endor diorama, but I'd probably have to leave out the landing pad, since that would cost alot of pieces to get into the right scale for the shuttle. So, I'd like to know: should I start saving up for the 10212 Imperial Shuttle and be able to buy it on my birthday, or order pieces off of Bricklink for Endor now, and another time (but a much larger order, then) with my birthday? And that's 5 months away, still, so either way: which option should I go for? What would be the best choice? (The BL order isn't a set, but I thought it would be allowed here too.) Thanks in advance. ~ General Magma Edited December 29, 2010 by General Magma Quote
