Brickdoctor Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) Seeing as both options go towards the Endor dio, and that the set will only be available from TLG for around 2 years, I'd go for the shuttle unless you think you'll be able to get it within the next year or so. Enpaz Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Here's a question for you guys. Well, well, well... if you can still get your hands on the Space Police III set "Smash 'N' Grab" (purple one) I'd recommend you to get it. The price is pretty good, especially considering the potential discount. If you like Star Wars, go for the new Battle Packs, or just one of them. Both are super-awesome! If you're not much of a Star Wars guy, then perhaps you're interested in the NinjaGO theme? Should that be the case, the small set which def reviewed a few days ago is definitely for you!. Cheers! General Magma Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I think you will be more satisfied in the end with the imperial shuttle. I saw it at my lego store and its a beast! Especially if its your birthday. Seeing as both options go towards the Endor dio, and that the set will only be available from TLG for around 2 years, I'd go for the shuttle unless you think you'll be able to get it within the next year or so. Thanks, I have decided to go for the Imperial shuttle. Both will go towards the Endor dio, indeed, so I'll be adding a landing pad to the diorama in the end. Gives it that finishing touch. ~ General Magma Quote
Iysk Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I'm considering these sets, but I only have 36 dollars... Collectible Minifigs Tennis Player, Hula Girl, Rapper, Samurai (3 dollars each) 2258 - Ninja Ambush (7) 2516 - Ninja Training Outpost (5) Does anyone know if the figures and Ninjago are released on the first of January or some later time? (see page 42 of the Jan 11 mag for why I'm wondering) Quote

Call your local shop. Looks like some of the NinjaGO sets are already at Target stores in the US and in shops in the UK and Ireland according to BrickSet. On the LEGO Store calendar, looks like they marked January 6th for the Collectable MiniFigs, but usually they'll put 'em out right at the beginning of the month. Cool. :D Also, can you tell me if this cup the large or the small? http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Ehthak/LegoStore/loot.jpg Okay so I fully looked through the catalogue... and there's a bunch I want. My money is limited to 32 dollars. =[ Don't want to use my card... placed items into Categories, but I can make exceptions to get the most (bricks?) out of my money. Stars(*) indicate a badly want. :] 1. MINIFIGURE COLLECTION The Minifigures Series 3: ---Samurai* (For Sure, unless he's gone...) ---Tennis Player or Hula Girl* (Torn, I like both faces + hair, but the Tennis player has better accessories + new hair for me. But I really like that hair piece in the Hula girl.) ---Rapper (just for the boombox, since it's hard to make headphones + music players) 2. NINJA! Just to get all 4 ninjas... as I never got all 4 knights (missed purple guy, Danju?) 2259 - Skull Motorbike | $15 (Jay + Nunchucks) 2258 - Ninja Ambush | $7 (Kai + Scythe) 2516 - Ninja Training Outpost* | $5 - (Cole, Since I missed out on the ninja in Series 1) Not getting Ice Dragon Attack for Zane since his outfit is different (as is Kai in) Might be okay with this, since I'd assume Zane will have a smaller set in the summer of '11. Would like to get the red and blue ninjas at the same time (since I'd get the skellys at the same time too). 3. PICK-A-BRICK May get a cup for bricks, since I have random assortments. Would like to get a small one and get tiles for building an RV or go-karts. 4. BATTLE PACKS 7913 - Mandalorian BP | $11 (Love blue, but would much rather have the Senate Commandos) or 7914 - Clone Trooper BP | $11 (Orange to contrast) 5. TWENTY DOLLAR SETS 5765 - Transport Truck | $20 (Blue & ORANGE(pigment) and Blue & YELLOW(light) contrasts + Price ratio) or 5933 - LEGO Airport Building Set | $20 (parts ratio) or 7915 - Imperial V-Wing StarFighter | $20 (Just for the black plates) If that 10 dollar PoP is on sale I'd get that for the weapons/Dastan's hairpiece. Could anyone tell me what is on sale at the Lego Store @ San Mateo/Hillsdale. First time going there. So for definites, it's 3 + 3 + 5 = 11 , so I have roughy ~20 (tax) to work out. What to do? I kinda want to * the cup just because it's my first time. (A memento and for protection, iykwim) Unless there's some coupon or discount (Using my VIP card, but don't have enough pts yet) Edited December 31, 2010 by Iysk Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 That's the large cup. The small one holds roughly half the amount. Quote
tiggerkiddo Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Didn't really get Lego for Christmas so I'm making up for it now! There are a few large sets I'm looking at but if I can't decide with any of them, I might go for a couple of medium sized sets and call it a day, lol. 1. Lego 6086 Black Knight's Castle 2. Lego 6276 Eldorado Fortress 3. Lego 6082 Fire Breathing Fortress 4. Lego 6416 Poolside Paradise 5. Lego 6543 Sail and Fly Marina 6. Lego 6395 Victory Lap Raceway 7. Lego 6393 Big Rig Truck Stop I'm typically a big Town/Space person but there is always room in my heart for some of the other themes and hence why you have some castle and pirate. I just can't decide which one to go for... Quote
prateek Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 1. Lego 6086 Black Knight's Castle 2. Lego 6276 Eldorado Fortress 3. Lego 6082 Fire Breathing Fortress 4. Lego 6416 Poolside Paradise 5. Lego 6543 Sail and Fly Marina 6. Lego 6395 Victory Lap Raceway 7. Lego 6393 Big Rig Truck Stop If I were in your situation, I'd go with 6543 Marina as my first choice, and then 6086 Castle as my second. Quote
Geki Brick Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 @lysk Get the 20 dollar transport truck because it has pieces to moc for an RV, or the pick-a-brick cup, but you will be getting less if you choose the latter option. Quote
cambookpro Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) Hello! My birthday is coming up in March so it's time for… Lego!! Even though I love Lego Technic, money has been spent on other things. My only sets are 8263 Snow Groomer (built the B-model, the Arctic Tracker), 8259 Mini Bulldozer, 8067 Mini Mobile Crane and 8046 Helicopter. I was looking at getting some PF sets. I'm more of a person who builds a set and then 'play and displays' it, so new parts for MOCs doesn't really apply to me. I am wondering which set(s!) to go for though: 8043 Motorised Excavator 8070 Super Car or do I get a small set plus other stuff: 8051 Motorbike 8041 Race Truck 8068 Rescue Helicopter or do I buy one of these later in the year: 8110 Unimog U400 (If not too expensive from licensing) 8109 Flatbed Truck (The red and yellow kinda looks very cool) Basically I want to know which one has the best play experience and looks the best on display. Also just any general awsome-ness from the sets. Thanks! Edited January 2, 2011 by cambookpro Quote
prateek Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) Just to let you know, this belongs in this topic As for your predicament, I'd say get 8043. It looks pretty awesome, but I'm kinda intrigued by the Supercar, so it would be wise to wait for better pics before asking this question. Edited January 2, 2011 by prateek Quote
allanp Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Even tho I really don't like the 8043 (personally I think it's boring), if you like it's appearance I would suggest you go for that if you wan't lots of PF, it has 4 motors, 2 transmitters, 2 recievers and a battery box plus lots of gears and tracks. It isn't really that big of a display piece tho, especially for the money. And make sure you get one with the new, revised LAs otherwise you may encounter problems with it not working. Otherwise I would tell you to wait for the unimog however it won't be out until August, and I can't wait that long for what is gonna be a truely awesome set. It doesn't have that much PF but it does have some, plus pneumatics and likely to have a compressor, so that the pneumatics are PF enabled! Quote

cambookpro Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 (edited) Can anyone tell me what the best sets are for £15-30? I'm interested in most themes except 'old' (set hundreds of years ago, pirates, castles etc) and am interested in technic, however still like normal Lego. Edited January 3, 2011 by cambookpro Quote
dr_spock Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 8043 now and unimog in the summer or fall. :) Quote

Iysk Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I'd like to buy some sets, not going over 25 though... Minifigure Series 3 = x5 ($15) or 8 ($24) (Just want the girls + samurai + rapper, don't know how much I should gamble on this). Takanuva = $4 These are for colors and parts per price ratio: CREATOR Street Speeder = $12 CREATOR Mini Dumper = $6 CREATOR Rescue Robot = $17 CREATOR Rotor Rescue = $13 Leaning towards Rotor Rescue + 4 Minifigures, as I lack red pieces. Planning to get the Army men for Green @ borders + discount. Suggestions would be appreciated. ^^ Quote

Iysk Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) I'm considering buying either Gateway of the Squid or Army Men on Patrol. I'm planning to get them at Borders, Gateway being 42.99 and Army at 12.99. Going to use the 33% discount to get it at 30ish or 9ish bucks, respectively. Unless Gateway is on sale at Target, which I doubt. Which should be bought? EDIT: Sorry for double posting, forgot that I was the last one who posted Edited January 7, 2011 by Iysk Quote

Worth a look if you have one nearby. Quote
prateek Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 7286 Prisoner Transport, 7915 V-Wing, 7978 Angler Attack, or 7307 Flying Mummy Attack? As I said before, I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to themes, so I'm pretty much looking for the best build. Quote
