Follows Closely Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 What current or upcoming sets have more than average greenery? (I worded it that way because I know there really doesn't exist many sets that I would say have a lot of greenery.) I'm talking about leaves, plants, flowers, palm fronds, those big leaf pieces, etc. PAB wall usually have plenty of green. Are you near a LEGO store? Quote
Masked Builder Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 1h 2011 Technic Backhoe Loader or 2h 2010 PF Technic Container Truck? I'd go for the Backhoe. Though I do like my construction machines. Quote
Alex the Great Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Hello everyone! I want to get one of these three sets, but not sure which one. 7675 republic gunship, 7675 at-te, or 8098 Clone turbo tank. I really like the gunship, but it's around $200 on bricklink now. Which one do you prefer, any other suggestions? Thanks! Quote
prateek Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 That's a tough one. I'd have to go with the RGS, because, IMO, it's the best designed vehicle of the bunch. Quote

I agree, the RGS is the best - as an RGS. But if you're going to MOC or MOD, you might want one of the other ones. The CTT is the best in terms of minifigs, by far, plus it's available from TLG and you can get VIP points buying it. Quote

I have to disagree with you on the figs, I think the RGS has better figs IMO, Obi-wan, Assajj, Cody, and Plo, whereas the only figs worth it in the CTT are Aalya and Bane, so, it's really just a toss up of what figs appeal more to you, set wise, I have them both, but I would say the RGS is the better set! Waterbrick Down Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I wondered if something like this existed on here . I'm looking at making a big castle purchase over 100$ and am having trouble deciding between the newest King's Castle, the Medieval Market Village, and Black Knight's Castle. I know people keep saying that the MMV is one of the greatest if not the greatest castle set, but the newest Kingdom's one isn't too shabby either and the the Black Knight's Castle is just classic coolness. So any suggestions? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 It depends on how and where you want to buy it. If you're leaning towards buying from TLG, go for the MMV, but otherwise I'd get the Black Knight's Castle. Quote
nicoga3000 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I'm considering buying a ship - either Imperial Flagship or the Maersk Container Ship. Any pros/cons to each that would help in the decision? Also, I'm thinking of buying my first "train" set. I see the Maersk Train is coming soon, and that's what peaked my interest. What's the deal with them? Is there a good "starter/must buy" train set to get into that whole world? Quote
Vindice Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 My son is mad on trains and overthe course of the year i've purchased the passenger train, cargo train, TS3 Western train and the Hogwarts express. the cargo train is brilliant in my opinion and would look great with the new Maersk train. The medieval market vilalge is a great purchase too because not only is by far the best set i've bought for the money but it has huge moc'ing potential. Quote
Decale Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Hello everyone! I've found the biggest world racer set for 35€, shipping included here I'm not really a big fan of the theme, but it looks like a nice parts pack to me: 961parts for 35€...wheels, nice figs, lime green... Knowing that it is hard enough for me to choose a T-shirt to put on every morning, I ask you guys the question: What would you do? Thanks for your thoughts Quote

Brickdoctor Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 It's definitely a good deal, but do you trust this site? I've never heard of it. ('Course, I don't live in France ) And would this go in 'What LEGO set should I buy?' or the BSTF forum? Not completely sure. Quote

DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT On second thought, buy some Space Police sets instead! You made me laugh a lot! Space Police would be fine too, but I'm afraid I physically can't mix any SP set with all my bricks (that would be a crime!), and they're using space for nothing... It's definitely a good deal, but do you trust this site? I've never heard of it. ('Course, I don't live in France ) And would this go in 'What LEGO set should I buy?' or the BSTF forum? Not completely sure. Sorry if it's not in the place it should be, I use to post MOCs, this is my very first "stupidquestion" . This site is more known in france than the bible. I've bought lego, pedals for guitar etc and sold some stuff too. Quote
prateek Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 This is a really good deal. Even if you don't want to open it, you can sell it for the full retail price later. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Is that site like a French Craigslist? Pretty cool! Quote

Canada_7 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) I'm currently considering the following options: 1) I have access to a 30% off coupon, and a $10 for $20 GC Groupon for Barnes & Noble online. I want to preorder the new Queen Anne set from the new Pirates of the Caribbean line and also Falling Water from the architecture series. Queen Anne is $107 ($120 regularly but they're offering 10% off for preorders) while the Architecture Falling Water set is $62.96 (regularly $90 but with the 30% off it becomes that price). Now I add in the $10 for $20 Groupon and altogether with shipping I'm paying $178.47 for the two. 2) Save up to buy the Grand Emporium which retails for $200 Canadian. Edited February 13, 2011 by Canada_7 Quote
prateek Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Get the Green Grocer. It's going to sell out really soon, so get it ASAP. Quote

prateek Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Oooohhhh.... In that case, go with the first option. GE will be available for at least 2 more years, so you'd have plenty of time to save up again. Quote
vexorian Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) I found the tank from 7261. No, nothing else, no minifigs, no box, no instructions, no speeder, just the tank. At ~51.0 USD I really liked the sight, but I'd like to know if you guys would go for it, because well, the price is not that low and lack of figs makes me sad. Edited February 14, 2011 by vexorian Quote
prateek Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 (edited) Considering the exact same thing (just the tank, no box or figs) goes for $120 USD on Bricklink (I just checked the lowest price), I say go for it! Edited February 14, 2011 by prateek Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I'm on an early-budget planning for my wanted sets of the 2011 summer wave. I'm torn between purchasing either the 7965 Millennium Falcon or the PoTC Queen Anne's Revenge. The SW fan in me says MF, since I haven't had the previous MF releases before, but QAR looks simply stunning IMO, with an amazing selection of new minifigs and this will be my first Pirate set in a looong time. Which is the better set to buy? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 The SW fan in me says the new MF is good on features, but they have not improved accuracy at all since the last System version and the new Leia isn't looking so good. Not sure how good the PotC set is, but I'd get that and build my own MF. And BL the 'figs if you want them. Quote
