XimenaPaulina Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I can either get one more 7124 Flash Speeder, a couple Flash Speeder Officers, or a few N-1 Pilots. What do you think would be the best choice? If I were you, I'd grab another Flash Speeder. Your small Naboo Security Force will be much 'beefier' with two speeders instead of only one IMO. Quote
Follows Closely Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 MMV and it is not even close. You get a way better piece selection, and its a better build. Quote
Enpaz Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 If I were you, I'd grab another Flash Speeder. Your small Naboo Security Force will be much 'beefier' with two speeders instead of only one IMO. I concur! Two flash speeders = 150% awesomeness instead of the usual 100. But remember to get flesh limbs and heads for the security forces. Quote
Silverface Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I bought it a Week ago and i'm totally happy. Its just awesome, it was worth the 150€ I payed. I love Fred and George, all the details, the stickers and so on. I yer a harry potter fan, buy it. Thank you! They say it is very hard set to build, what do you say? Quote
Vindicare Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Unless you are buying it for the HP mini-figs, I'd say MMV is the way to go. I have a set coming in the mail right now, and I've been wanting it for over a year and a half since I first saw it at the LEGO store. The buildings look great and could be used in Kingdoms or City collections, plus it comes with lots of great parts like the cows, food, etc. Like he said, unless you're wanting the figs, go MMV. It is far better a set than the castle. You get more IMO with the MMV. Quote

I concur! Two flash speeders = 150% awesomeness instead of the usual 100. But remember to get flesh limbs and heads for the security forces. Thanks you too. Even though it's over 10 years old it's still a wonderful set. I can always get some more N-1 Pilots later on. Anyway since most would be from the magnet set I would have to track down hats for them. I know the heads are yellow but the limbs don't need to be adjusted. I'm not planning on having too many Security Officers. They only came in the Flash Speeder and are pretty steep in price individually. Hopefully next year we'll see some more officers due to the 3D release of EPI TPM. We are already getting Panaka from the Infiltrator and a new N-1 and Pilot. Quote
super curry max Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Does anyone know how long the Medieval Market Village will be available for? I'm hoping to buy it within the next few weeks and I hope it doesn't suddenly disappear right when I have enough saved up to get it. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Does anyone know how long the Medieval Market Village will be available for? I'm hoping to buy it within the next few weeks and I hope it doesn't suddenly disappear right when I have enough saved up to get it. It's been around for a couple years now, so I would get it as soon as possible. I do, however, know someone who bought one when it first came out and got a second late last year, and the metallic colors of the Crownie foot soldier's armor and weaponry is different. Whether this is because the set was so popular that a second production run was started to keep the set on shelves, because the plastic was changed during production, or because TLG has started another run to keep the set around for another year or so is unbeknownst to me. You're chances of finding a cheap Café Corner are slim! I just sold one of mine MIB and bought three GE with the money, I think the prices are getting ridicules. But yes we should also be seeing the next building around august-september...... Edited March 14, 2011 by grogall Quote
keithk Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 This message is showing up for MMV 10193 on S@H: "Backorders accepted, expected ship date 3 Apr 2011" Does that mean they're doing another production run and I have some more time to save up or should I put my pre-order in now? I wanted to get the Fire Brigade soon. Decisions, decisions. Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 @keithk IMO, get the MMV as soon as possible. The Fire Brigade came later than MMV and will most likely run out of production sooner. Quote
Zeya Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 "Backorders accepted, expected ship date 3 Apr 2011" I was hoping someone more sure would answer this. I speculate it means that they're taking backorders because stock is low. The "ship date" might mean that's when they'll take one last look at their backorders and fill what they can, before yanking MMV off the site forever. My gut tells me that MMV won't be around much longer. They still sell it with the Castle logo, and I haven't seen a true Castle set on the shelves since Christmas (brickmaster books don't count). If you can afford it, I would place your order now. That set is really awesome, and I don't think exclusives get any sort of remarkable sale deals, if that's what you're hoping for. Sidebar: I think that's why the Imperial Flagship didn't get a big Pirates logo on it, so they could keep selling it after the regular sets died off without fielding questions about the other Castle sets. keithk Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Thank you guys. I went ahead and placed my order. Can't wait! Quote
Iysk Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) Borders' need to stop giving out these 33%off coupons... Ninjago: Ninja Ambush (6) Pharaoh's Quest: Golden Staff Guardians (8) Toys Story: Army Men on Patrol (8) SW: Mandolrians or the Clone Trooper Battle Pack (8 each). City: Police MF Collection (8) or the Police Dog Assignment (11) Creator: The Light up robot for (15). I don't think I'll be using those joints though. Which seat can I ta- I mean what set should I get? Edited March 18, 2011 by Iysk Quote
Piranha Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) I normally can decide but I am stuck on this one Endor $100 Home One $85 (shipped price) AT-AT $80 (TRU sale) Leaning toward the Home One since it was $110 when it was released and is already 2 years old and I can get the AT-AT later in the year. But Endor is nice too Edited March 19, 2011 by Macoco Quote

But Endor is nice too I'd rule out the AT-AT right off the bat. I have the other two, and of the two, I think I like Endor better. Home One's strong point is basically just the 'figs, so if the 'figs are what you want, make your decision based on that, but Battle of Endor has an overall better selection. (although different color scheme altogether) But as far as playability if you plan to keep the set together, I think the Home One's A-wing rotation thing is more fun than the Bunker's exploding function and blast doors. Quote
RileyC Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Boy, that's a tough one Macoco. Yeah I would rule out the AT-AT too. I mean it's a good set and has it's merits but compared to the home one and battle of endor it doesnt really compare. So all that leaves is the home one and endor set. Personally, I would pick the home one over endor. But thats really because of the minifigs. It's because they are probably going to be exclusive to this set for a long time. They arent the most exciting minifigs but they are interesting. It's just because they aren't what you expect and fill the diplomatic void in the SW universe. The home one part of it is good and Ackbars chair is a cool feature. The green a wing is awesome though. It definitely beats the traditional red and makes your rebel forces seem more of a rag tag team. There's some good playability features if your into that kind of thing. And Ackbar is awesome! The battle of endor is a good army builder and it is a pretty big set. That's because of all the other pieces besides the bunker. The catapult, glider, speeders and the chicken walker give it a lot more bang for your buck compared to the home one. The minifigs are really good too. The ewoks are nice and will go well with this years Ewok attack. The soldiers while they look cool and their torsos would be good for customising, mine have quite tight helmets. That means it doesn't feel that secure and I think if you weren't careful would be easy to lose. Han and Chewie are pretty standard though but leia is really unique to this set. The hair and torso won't come back for a while. The scouts are special too. Being in only one other set before so they are quite valuable. But with the Ewok attack coming out the price of them may come down even more so if you were wanting to resell them I would do it quick. The bunker is ok, lots of extra guns in it which is a plus. The exploding pieces is a weird feature. So really it's which ever one you want. They are older sets so I would get them quicker. But I would choose the home one if it was me. Hope this helps! Now my question! White Boba Fett or Chrome Darth Vader? About the same price, same coolness. Would love to know what you guys think! Quote

Now my question! White Boba Fett or Chrome Darth Vader? About the same price, same coolness. Would love to know what you guys think! Hey guys, thanks for the great replies, yeah I ruled out the AT-AT but now I am stuck on either the Home One or Endor. I will sleep on it As for your question, I bought both the Chrome Vader and White Boba. I paid $20 for the Chrome Vader on Bricklink and $25 for the White Boba on Ebay. So if it were for pricing for me I would have picked the Chrome Vader because he was $5 cheaper. $35 is now around the cheapest you can get a Chrome Vader for on Bricklink. White Boba is also now in the $30 range, however if you want I can PM you the ebay seller link for the white Boba for $25 (Free shipping too!) he has at least 15 left last time I checked. Now onto the figs themselves Chrome Vader: The Chrome Vader I just got yesterday and I will not lie, it is a extremely beautiful figure. The black chroming looks a lot better in person. I wasn't expecting that! It glimmers and is 100% awesome. He comes in a polybag for the 10th Anniversary of SW LEGO being in production, which is sweet & by now I would say classic and nostalgic. Vader also has his lightsaber which is a nice touch. Also chrome parts are getting rare nowadays, LEGO doesn't put them in sets too much anymore (not sure why, maybe it is too expensive) so let alone a chrome black vader is something very special. White Boba: A concept Boba as a minifig is really cool too. Alot of people like Boba Fett and any chance to get a prelim or idea in a fig form is a truly special opportunity. Especially for the ESB 30th anniversary. He has a blaster which is nice but common. His color is white which isn't too exciting but still very cool. Comparing them: Lets start with the Polybags they come in. - For me I prefer the 10th Anniversary of SW LEGO over the ESB 30th polybag. - Now for the accessories, Boba has a single part blaster while Vader has a two part lightsaber. 2:1 ratio if by parts so that is a obvious win and I like lightsabers better. - Boba fett has his helmet while vader has both his helmet and a cape which nice. - Fig appearance, the vader in chrome black hands down beats a plain white boba fett - Iconic value sure Boba Fett is popular but Darth Vader could be said is the most Iconic Star Wars character ever. - Rarity the Darth Vader being 1 year older than the white boba is now more rare. Final Choice: For me if I had to pick, I would go with the Chrome Vader. EDIT: Morning Edit for better reading Edited March 19, 2011 by Macoco Quote
sok117 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 The easiest way to answer the question Macoco, is to just go with the one you wanted first, usually your first decision is the right decision. Quote
Piranha Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Thank you and I did, because my first choice was the Home One playset. I picked it in the end for the following reasons: Price: I paid $69.99 which is $39.99 lower than what TLG was selling them for! And here where I live TRU sold them for $134.99 so that is $64.99 cheaper! Anytime you can get a set lower than TLG was selling them for that is great deal. (w/o shipping because that is different) Availability: It was a TRU Exclusive and it is discontinued, while the Endor Base is still for sale. Figs/Parts: An awesome selection of exclusive figs although TLG shouldn't have put ackbar in a magnet set and as Roncanator mentioned TLG won't probably make them again. A-wing: I was in love with the A-wing the first time I saw it The Dark GREEN and Rebel insignias and overall design are awesome. 10th Anniversary: I have been buying SW LEGO since they came out and the throwback box art and everything is great. Possible Surprise: Being as I bought a MISB copy there is a chance I can find a chrome vader in it I am very happy with my choice. Quote
