sok117 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 So, do I get 6860 The Batcave, or 6857 Funhouse, or 6864 The Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase. I'm leaning towards the Funhouse set but for 10 bucks more I get a black batman.... Definitely go for the funhouse, it hits a great price to piece ratio, you get the dynamic duo, and you get three awesome villains! Personally, I'm gonna buy the Batcave and the Funhouse because I already bought the old Batmobile set which came with a much better looking Two-face and I've built a batmobile ten times better then the one in the set. If your heart is set on a black batman though, go for it. I'm buying all the sets from the theme except for the batmobile though. Quote

I can probably MOC a good Batmobile. Hey I have to save money for Star Wars too! Quote

I think I need to take a break from star wars for a while, I just feel like I convince myself I need new clones when really I don't, but I definitely need batman villains, right? Quote

50missioncap Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Got a chance to get a green grocer... Nsib. My dream set. 350 though. It would go with my town theme, but that's alot of money. Should I save for the new city sets like the police unimog? Quote

Should I save for the new city sets like the police unimog? My opinion? Get it. I think it's the best modular that's been released thus far, and I've got them all. I would be very surprised if you were to regret it later. Quote

Thanks for the opinion. Just needed the shove... Not like this is bricks anonymous.. Quote

You'll have more than enough time to get the new sets, but getting the GG at that price will be a rarity. Edited December 17, 2011 by Legocrazy81 Quote
ibecks Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 (edited) I'm really torn on the Winter Village Toy Shop. On the one hand, it's very good value right now and it's another awesome Jamie Berard design (what's not to love about those?!) but on the other I'm Bricklinking Cafe Corner and all my Lego money should really be going on that. Plus if I bought one I'd feel I should buy two - one for building, one as an investment. Someone please tell me to just get a grip and buy it already! ;) <edited to add that my main interest is modular buildings - Grand Emporium is on its way to me and I can see the toys from the Winter Village having a year-round home in GE> Edited December 27, 2011 by ibecks Quote

I bought it at full price and don't regret it all. I think it looks much more impressive in the flesh than in pictures, and I found the build involved and enjoyable for a set of its size. Furthermore, you can display it at Christmas! Mine goes 'on display' in our living room with the decorations Quote
L@go Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) Someone please tell me to just get a grip and buy it already! ;) Get a grip and buy it already! Apart from the rarest parts, there's no reason why postponing your CC build would make it more expensive, or any more difficult to piece together. The Toy Shop, on the other hand, won't be around forever. As long as you can afford it, and so on... Edited December 30, 2011 by L@go Quote
eliminator Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Kingdoms Castle or the Joust? well, the Castle is discontinued and the Joust just came out so I'd say get the Castle while you still can and put the Joust off till this time next year since it will likely be around for 2+ years. Quote

Get a grip and buy it already! Apart from the rarest parts, there's no reason why postponing your CC build would make it more expensive, or any more difficult to piece together. I bought a couple and I'm now continually refreshing the tracking page in anticipation of their arrival. (and a couple of Bricklink orders towards CC!) Thanks for your advice, both of you. Quote
RoryoCox Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Getting back into LEGO buying- Should I get Death Star (10188) or Imperial Shuttle (10212)? I want a large set like that to develop my skills but just can't decide which is better. Quote

I want a large set like that to develop my skills but just can't decide which is better. Well, I don't own the Shuttle, but I say get the Death Star. It has tons of playability, it's a great parts pack, plus it just looks cool. I don't own the Shuttle though, so that may be better. But I say get the Death Star! Quote
