sharky Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I ended up getting the Brickbeard Bounty, because of the more cartoonish look to go with my Nesquik Rabbit figure. Thanks everyone! I gotta admit I didn't see that one coming. You should have mentioned the Nesquik Rabbit figure beforehand. I'm sure it would have influenced the opinion of those that chose the Black Pearl. Quote

I'm sure it would have influenced the opinion of those that chose the Black Pearl. Yes, I should have! However I don't think it would affect it either way, with Nesquik and POTC both being licensed. BUt the figure goes with a brighter color scheme and cartoony look though. So Brickbeard was right up my alley. (plus it was cheaper!) Quote
BrickPicker Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I think Black Pearl is better, the Davy Jones minifig is simply awesome This... Quote

Masked Builder Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 So, do I try to pick up LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7? I'd get it for about $4. Quote
purpleparadox Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 So, do I try to pick up LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7? I'd get it for about $4. Yeah! I don't see how you could go wrong for $4. Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Yeah! I don't see how you could go wrong for $4. Yeah, that's what I realized. Quote
Scorpiox Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) Ok, I realise this is a massive overshot into the future, but I'm so hyped about DC Superheroes that I just had to ask this. For christmas this year I'm going to ask some important parties if I can be gifted a Batman set, and both of the ones that I really like are the sort of price that I wouldn't normally fork out for LEGO So it is either: The Batmobile and The Two-Face Chase The Dynamic Duo's Funhouse Escape Price is no object as the one that I choose will be a gift. So, which one is better? Ironically The Riddler and Two-Face are both my favourite Batman rogues, so it is largely a choice between them in the set that I pick. I already have the Batwing set, so the Joker isn't much of an incentive. Thanks, I look forward to your replies. Edited July 2, 2012 by Scorpiox Quote

Well, I don't have either of those sets, but from what I've gathered the Funhouse Escape set is considered one of the best sets from the DC wave. The Batmobile on the otherhand strikes me as a little underwhelming. If I were you, I'd pick the Funhouse. Quote

I would have gotten the Two-Face Chase just for the black suit Batman, but since you have it, the Funhouse escape. It has more villains and a nice playset. However, if you don't want another Joker, Two-Face chase. Quote
Puck Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) Ok, so I've been having trouble deciding between a few sets, one from LOTR (The Attack on Weathertop) or The Vampyre Hearse (Monster Fighters). I'm kinda leaning towards the Hearse though, the theme interests me a little more than LOTR. I am also questioning myself on getting The Batcave. I might invest 100$ or so in the Super Heroes theme and sell a minifig or two in the future, when they discountinue the theme. Your comments are much appreciated. ~Puck :) EDIT: I hate the keypad on the iPad... Edited July 2, 2012 by Puck Quote

The new coffin is cool and has a nice print, too. I hate the keyboard too. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Scorpiox I would say Funhouse Escape. That was my first DC set, so I had multiple figures I wanted in just one set. I ended up getting Two-Face set for the black Batman and Two-Face, but you get 5 great figures in Funhouse. Puck I would normally say LOTR since I prefer that theme to a lot of others, but the Monster Fighter set is cheaper (I believe) and has some cool figures. I think it depends on what your typical MOCing/collecting is geared toward. If you like scenery and castle torsos get Weathertop, if you like vehicles and retro looking torsos, get Monster Fighters. Pythor Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I have about 50 pounds to spend and dont know whether to buy a 44 pound earth defence HQ or shelob attacks for 20. Someone please help me, Pythor! Quote
Captain Settle Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Earth Defense HQ probably, because the alien conquest theme is about to get discontinued so the prices of the set's will go up online. Also £44 is a great deal for earth defense HQ. Shelob Attacks is a great set, but I think it would be better to get ED HQ. Quote
Ash Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Earth Defense HQ No contest. Just get it. You'll be able to get Shelob for ages yet. Earth Defense HQ will slowly get harder and harder to find at this point. It's also awesome. I mean really cool. Great fun to build. BTW there is a specific thread for these sort of posts so this will probably get locked or merged or something. I can't remember where it is though. Quote
LuxorV Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 As said, this kind of queation falls under the 'Which set should I buy' thread. I'll move this one into LEGO General Discussion and News and they'll be merged in a short while, to allow Pythor to take notice. Quote
Pythor Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Thanks uou guys . Look forward to buying 7706 :D Pythor Quote
Vindicare Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Definitely 7066. Not only are they near extinction, they are awesome all around. Great figs, great vehicle, great build. Get it! Quote
meyerc13 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Scorpiox - For me, the choice was simple - Two Face Chase. If you love Batman you need a Batmobile. Puck - Again, this would be an easy choice for me - Weathertop. It's one of my favorite parts of the Lord of the Rings and it is a nice looking set. It has one of the best characters - Aragorn, and comes with two Ringwraiths. Pythor - Earth Defense HQ all the way. I was ambivalent toward the Alien Conquest line, but this set won me over. First off, it's blue, my favorite color. Second, it has some rare and useful parts even if you don't like the set. Third, even if you don't like the campy alien attack stuff, the vehicle would work great with any scifi layout. Definitely get this set, you won't regret it. Quote
Brickity Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 (edited) I love the Grand Emporium and the Town hall, but I don't have enough money to buy both.. at least not now. Both seem to have really good pieces... Help me out please Edited July 4, 2012 by Otherworld Quote
meyerc13 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Grand Emporium. As the older set, it is likely going to be retired first. Not to mention, every LEGO town needs somewhere to shop. Quote
bekindsorewind Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I'm trying to get a spaceship to go with my Nesquik Rabbit to display it. Any ideas? Quote
