Admiral-Ackbar Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I'm at a crossroads! 8070: Supercar 8043: Excavator 8110: UniMOG 9396: Large resque helicopter 9397: Logging truck 9398: 4x4 Crawler Which one first? What kinds of sets do you own already? Do you own lots of technic? If so, I would recommend buying one of the less costly sets to compliment your existing collection, such as the helicopter. If you have none or few sets you may want to start big, with the UniMOG. My personal favourite is the Supercar. Hope this helps you out! Quote
Bricktooth Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I am going to the US in about a week, and I'm thinking about picking up some LotR sets (I don't own any yet). I have about $80 to spend on LEGO, so the question is: which set(s) to get? Quote
Siegfried Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52175 For the record, I'd go with Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape Thanks, and yeah this is where this goes. Quote
Leo604 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I am going to the US in about a week, and I'm thinking about picking up some LotR sets (I don't own any yet). I have about $80 to spend on LEGO, so the question is: which set(s) to get? Pick up Uruk-hai Army for sure, if just for the minifigures that come with it. Attack on Weathertop might be a good one too, but it'd be too expensive to get them both together. Choose one of those, and then maybe grab Gandalf Arrives on the side; it should be within your budget. Quote
Bricktooth Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Maybe Gandalf Arrives+Shelob Attacks+Uruk-hai Army? That's about $60, and maybe something else? Quote
TheRedGuy Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I'm thinking about getting Pre vizsla's starfighter, should I get it or buy another set? (I can use 70 bucks) Quote
Masked Builder Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Maybe Gandalf Arrives+Shelob Attacks+Uruk-hai Army? That's about $60, and maybe something else? I have all three, it's worth the price. I'd like to get some Monsterfighters myself, maybe you should look at them. Quote
Bricktooth Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 The Swamp Monster set looks nice, and it is also inexpensive. I might buy that one, too. Quote
Masked Builder Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 That's the only one I want. I've seen the monster in person, definitely worth it. Quote
'Essence Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Well I want to buy one of those sets, but I'm not sure which. Could anyone give me some advice? -Essence. Quote
Pandora Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Well I want to buy one of those sets, but I'm not sure which. Could anyone give me some advice? -Essence. Hello 'Essence, we have a comprehensive "Which set should I buy" thread over in the LEGO General Discussion and News forum, and it's frequented by lots of people who know about various LEGO themes including Super Heroes. I'm sure asking there would garner you plenty of replies as unfortunately a forum can become swamped with numerous separate threads asking for advice. Quote

Multiverse Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Ok thanks sorry. Anyway, can anyone help, Doc Ocks Ambush, or Funhousr Escape? I would say the Funhouse Escape, though I might be biased in my affection for the Dynamic Duo. Quote

I've got: 8068 Resque helicopter 8069 Back-hoe 9393 Tractor 8275 Bulldozer 8419 Mini excavator Seeing this list the UniMOG or the Supercar should fit right in. Quote
Cwetqo Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 What you need is 8043. Its really nice and fine to build set and it should fit perfectly with 8275 and 8069. Besides that, It will disappear first from stores (probably this year). Quote
HeMan Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Hi, I want to buy either the 2150 or the 4554. If you don't already know, the stations are built the same but the 4554 is yellow and the 2150 is red 2150 +red looks nicer (suits the metroliner better) +has a nice white trim under the roof -minifigs are not the best (wrong half of the 90s) -yellow baggage train looks a bit weird with white wheels 4554 +minifigs really cool +have two spare metroliner stations and some platform so red seats I have will match -yellow looks funny -no lining under roof so ideally i'd have the 2150 with the 4554's figs, chairs and baggage train. Is it worth going to all that trouble? what do you think? thanks Quote
Jestb2000 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I need help between 9398, 8880 and 8448! Can someone help? Quote
HeMan Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I need help between 9398, 8880 and 8448! Can someone help? i have the 8880 myself and it is very very cool: V8, 4 wheel drive and steering, 4 proper different ratio gears opening tailgate and fully independent suspension on each wheel. However its not powered and you won't be able to replace the engine with a motor because the chain between it and the connecting rod to the gear box will just jump or snap. so if you did power it (I've seen it done) you probably wouldn't be able to run the power through the gearbox. the 8448 also looks nice. 5 forward gears and one reverse is impressive but only 2 wheel drive and steering. its in the newer style so flexible rods and funny plates making up all the styling rather than the more lego styled blocks of the 8880. I prefer the older style but i think the newer also looks cool so it depends what you like really. Now I've just has a look at the 9398 and boy does it look fun! with motorized 4 wheel steering and 4 wheel drive with the super long suspension travel it looks like a blast to play with. But like most of the new Technic sets it has no gears and with an electric motor you don't need that but i think its cool. so if you want a fun rc car that you can continue playing with for a long time after you've built it get the 9398 But if you're into engineering and you like to see realism and how everything works get either of the other two. Just depends what style you like between the other two, i'd say that the 8880 really shows the top end of what lego can do, they had to make unique parts for this set to allow 4 wheels drive, steering and suspension. But if the old style isn't your thing the 8448 is a worthy alternative Hope this helps Quote
ticktockclock Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 LEGO Star Wars 9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor VS LEGO Mini Modulars Quote
HawkLord Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 LEGO Star Wars 9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor VS LEGO Mini Modulars I vote Mini Mods. Never did like the look of the Sith ship. Plus, overall I'd say the Mods look like more fun. As a Lego Star Wars collector, I have more ships than I know what to do with, so when one like this comes out I have to be really choosy. Quote
Ceroknight Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 LEGO Star Wars 9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor VS LEGO Mini Modulars Darth Malgus is one of the best minifigures Lego has ever made, also it's one of the coolest fighters I have ever seen. Plus those sith troopers look pretty awesome Quote
Bobsy Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 LEGO Star Wars 9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor VS LEGO Mini Modulars Do you, or have you ever played The Old Republic? If the answer's yes, you NEED the Fury. If no, don't bother. It's 3,500 years removed from all your other Star Wars sets. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Does anyone know if the Monster Pack is available in Legoland Windsor? What's better? 9465, 9461 and 9462 or 9461, 9462 and 9643 (Zombies swamp creature and mummy or werewolf swamp creature and mummy) Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 So, might go out later today. Looking for something in the US$40-50 range, right now it's a toss-up between the Zombies, the Orc Forge and maybe Samurai X Mecha if I can find the thing. Open to other suggestions. What would give me the most bang for my buck? Quote
