So after watching 2 amazing game sevens last night I thought we might need a topic about the playoffs if anyone is interested. I'm a huge Bruins fan and that game last night was amazing with a ridiculous comeback. The Leads fought hard and made it a heck of a series. My prediction is a Boston-Chicago final. But to be fair as long as the habs are out of it, I'm a happy camper. Soooo anyway let's talk some hockey here, favorite teams, playof predictions, whatever.

I'd love to see a Penguins vs. Sharks final, but I doubt the Sharks are going to make it. I'm gonna put my money on Penguins vs. Blackhawks.

I'm a lifelong Pens fan though, so my opinions may be biased.

Sharks fan here. Second round starts tonight and my stress and blood pressure will rise dramatically. Second round has more often than not been our downfall. But, we are on a hot streak right now, coming off our first playoff sweep in club history.

Living in Chicago my entire life, there is really only one way to go! Blackhawks vs Red Wings should be a great series. Both fan bases despise the other, which always makes things more entertaining! I predict Hawks win that one in 5, then hopefully keep marching on to the Cup!

The Sharks are my Western Conference team. I'm really hoping that they can put it together this year and make it to the Cup finals.

Big win for the Kings tonight. Jonathan Quick has to be one of the best American goaltenders in a long time.

That was pretty brutal. The reffing was a little questionable but Toronto seemed to lose their ability completely in the last 1:30 of the third.

I really don't see the Sens beating Pittsburgh either.

As a former Bostonian, I guess I'll have to root for the Bruins now. That was some comeback from a 4-1 deficit.

Yeah talk about a shock to the system. Hawks found a good time to play like a heartless bunch of individuals, but the Wings are always tough and when ever the two teams play you can pretty much throw their records out the window and just know it's going to be a tough fought game.

Okay here's my prediction for the east. Bruins in 7, the defense is better and the the goaltending is better. Bergeron should be able to at least keep up with Crosby and let Chara take care of Malkin. Not saying the B's can shut down the Pen's offense, just slow them down enough to get their own goals and make a series out of it. If they can keep then under four goals a game I believe the Bruins can win the series.

That's stepping out on a limb! I haven't watched the Bruins too closely during the playoffs, but the Pen's offense is just ridiculously good. I hope you are right though! I'm not predicting anything for the Blackhawks this round because I almost jinxed them into losing so I will just say I hope they win

Wow goalie issues in both conference finals. Never would have thought Quick would just disappear when he's such a big time talent? And how about them Bruins?! Offensive explosion I though this series would go seven but it's certainly not looking that way

It is not over until it is over. There is still opportunity to make a comeback. Might be a bit harder with the Bruins on a roll...

Gotta admit I may let my homer tendencies come out from time to time but the pens just look so beatable right now. Crosby will get his just hope it's not much. That goaltending for them is a huge issue right now though.

I can be a homer and I really thought the Bruins would win the series but I am shocked by how they just utterly destroyed the Penguins.

3 overtimes?! Unbelievable game. A heartbreaker for me but I still think the Bruins win in 7.

As a side note with so many Canadians and Europeans on this forum, I'm surprised this topic doesn't have more traffic. Sorry if I'm making a general statement about countries, it seems that Europe is a huge hotbed of hockey, and we all know everyone in Canada is born with ice skates and a hockey stick in hand :-)

I know its an old topic, but figured I'd revive it for the new season. What does everyone think of the the new NHL season? I know it's early, but Chicago loomed real good hasn't missed a beat it seems. The Bruins looked real good in the preseason especially the power play and the new lines are hopefully going to gel pretty soon. If I should have created a new topic please let me know mods.

Glad you revived it... Yeah Chicago and Boston look good... Me I'm a life long Sharks fan so Go Sharks! (Nice little win against Vancouver to start out, just hope we can beat Phoenix... They give us problems sometimes.)
