The_Chosen_1 Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Whoah! Why does the cool stuff always have to be so rare?! Quote
Spider-Man Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Hopefully the full instructions will get released somewhere. The build looks really cool! Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I just noticed that there are 114 1x1 trans-light blue bricks in this...! Quote
Fuppylodders Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Whoah! Why does the cool stuff always have to be so rare?! And in america =/ Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 And has anyone seen the price on ebay ?! Goodness a buck under a thousand US dollars.......might be cheap to Bricklink the parts.....except who is the youngling next to Yoda ? Would be an interesting build........but I hope my son doesn't want to build it........$$$$$ ? Quote
CaptainCRO Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Seriously, who is that kid next to Yoda? And is that supossed to be Jedi temple room? The colours don't match. Quote
Bighappysmiles Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Whoa! Biggest lego model? Sounds exciting! Quote
cmg Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I just noticed that there are 114 1x1 trans-light blue bricks in this...! Actually, I think that they are "trans-dark blue" plates. I'm thinking that if I build this, I might substitute 1 x 1 round plates as I have a ton of them in both trans-light and -dark blue. Quote
Borex Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 What could be the biggest Lego Model? Something Yoda-Chronicle related? The Ewok Village that's been speculated (with huge trees?) Quote
Faefrost Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 What could be the biggest Lego Model? Something Yoda-Chronicle related? The Ewok Village that's been speculated (with huge trees?) I'm worried that they refer to it as "the worlds largest Lego model", and not "kit" or "set". This could mean it is some sort of huge Star Wars related display in Times Square, and not an actual retail kit. Quote

Something Yoda-Chronicle related? The Ewok Village that's been speculated (with huge trees?) My guess is that it's an X-Wing. In the most recent Lego magazine, there was a contest to try and guess what it would be. It showed some random pieces that gave a "hint", which included R2's dome and the stickered 1x1 tile from 9493. Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 What I'm wondering, is who exactly got this? -Sci Quote

This could mean it is some sort of huge Star Wars related display in Times Square, and not an actual retail kit. Exactly this. If it is something so 'big' to be unveiled in Times Square, I hardly think it will be a tiny UCS set that only about a crowd of 20 people would be able to see at any one time. I seriously expect it to be some huge big megablocks display promoting something to do with the Yoda Chronicles. So I can imagine anyone expecting it to be the Ewok village or X-wing UCS or anything, will most likely be disappointed... Just my opinion though. Quote
jamie75 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I want this set, but, I not about to blow a grand on it!! So, to make building it easier and to make it more convenient to order pieces, I made the model for it in LDD. Here it is for anyone who wants it: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jamie75/YodaChronicles/yoda_chronicles_promotional_set.png File will be available when folder is moderated!! Also, the box says 408 pieces, and mine has 408 pieces. I tried to use the pics available to make the file and referenced the parts list alot. I'm pretty sure it is exact! Jamie Quote
BobaCon Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 Looks like these are selling for mad money. I don't collect Star Wars LEGO but I have shamefully purchased kits for this much in the past. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321128056217 Quote
Faefrost Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I think we can guarantee that it won't be the Ewok Village. No matter how hard we try and imagine that set, They will not do the "Largest Lego Set ever" on what amounts to a big tree house. It may be a big set. Even close to the Death Star size. But they still would not need it to be that big to accomplish what they need it to. The only real option for a set that I can see would be Marshall's UCS Sandcrawler project, which if made would be the largest Lego set ever made, but was so rich and detailed and distinct that they might actually consider it. (Heck isn't that essentially how we got the last "Biggest set ever" the UCS Falcon? A designer basically built it in his office as a personal project and they fell in love with it?). That could also allow for the R2 dome. But I agree with the above. It's probably a full scale or half scale X Wing display and not a set. They did an X Wing like they did Bag End. (PS does anyone else really want a kit of the real world scale Bag End to put in their backyard?) Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 The Brick Show somehow got a hold of this and reviewed it: -Sci Quote
jamie75 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) Wow, after watching that, I realized I misplaced some pieces. I couldn't see them in the pics so.................. I guessed. I'll fix it it and post to Brickshelf. Thanks for the vid, Jamie Edited May 19, 2013 by jamie75 Quote
Cyberbricker Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 If I even want it, I will just bricklink the pieces as i did with the Republic dropship, saved me a lot of money. They should really find a way to stop people from selling these exclusive sets for ridicules prices. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 How were they even distributed? Its sad that people will take something like this that Im sure TLG didnt intend to be immediately sold off like this... and try sell it for a ridiculous amount Quote

These are journalist and reviewer swag. Quote
just2good Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 What I'm wondering, is who exactly got this? -Sci "Press" or "media" visitors to the Toy Fair. It makes sense, as TBS, YCF, and Idle Hands got 'em, but for some reason FBTB didn't while GameInformer did..? Quote
Legopast Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Just2Good is it possible this was for video game reviewers only? I think it is quite silly to pay this price for the matter of a couple of figures, It's rarity value does not outweigh the fact there is not all that much in the box. Quote

Idlehands, YCF, and TBS do not review video games (as far as I know), but it could be possible that LEGO sent the sets to press attendees of the Toy Fair AND video game press sites. Quote
