LegoGBC Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Hello I was planning to buy the 8110-1 in a month or so, but then I thought: Since this set is about 2 years old already, wouldn't it be discontinued by that time? Should I rush and buy it now or it still has more time? Thanks. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Wait a month or so and then buy it off eBay. Quote
kungpo Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 It's a fairly expensive set so hard to say - flagship sets tend to be sold over RRP once discontinues, so don't wait too long as eBay prices might be on the high side. You might find it at a decent price at Amazon before it's stopped (maybe 10-15% less than RRP). MISB 8043 are close to £200 these days (£143 RRP) and that's less than a year after discontinued. Quote
Seasider Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I got mine recently from argos, £15 off which didn't seem bad Quote
LegoGBC Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 I got mine recently from argos, £15 off which didn't seem bad It's around 130 euros on BrickLink, but the shipping is another thing to consider when buying this because of the large, heavy box. Anyway back to the topic - so its safe to wait another month? it won't be discontinued by then? Quote
stan_the_man Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 The Lego site doesn't have a discontinuing warning on it, so you should be ok for a while. They usually give a few months notice when they are getting to the end of production Quote
