odidoma Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 It's not always what it looks like. This village had been calm and to their own for ages and have never made any problem for the sheriff. They pay their taxes in time and never argue about it. After a tip from another farmer the sheriff went to the small village to look for him self if their was any truth in the tip. This is one of the first moc I ever build. I like the story and the setting, hope you will to. And no i want spam the forum with more old mocs, from now on it´s only new one. See more on Flickr Quote
fenrisakashi Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Nifty build sir. I like your stratification with the black and reddish brown. Quote
Nightstalker Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 A good ol' medieval shake down. The MOC does quite the good job of telling a rather dark story. I wonder who's responsible for the skeleton in the basement? Quote
Grazingcattle Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I love this moc... it does such a great job at telling a story with out words. Not just any story but a engaging story that has me wanting to know more! I love it! Quote
SSchmidt Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 A good ol' medieval shake down. The MOC does quite the good job of telling a rather dark story. I wonder who's responsible for the skeleton in the basement? I'm thinking the not so innocent, although very innocent looking, old man pinned to the well by the spear. If his daughter(?) and grandson(?) knew the skeleton's (literally) in their pops' closet, they wouldn't shed so many tears I think. Then again, maybe it's a deceased kinsman ;) Quote
Gideon Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Nice to see all your MOCs over here, keep 'em coming! In this one I think I like the tree and the roof design the most, plus the minifig posing Quote
ZCerberus Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Good job man. Looks like you got the picture linking thing down pat. GREAT photography. In focus, nice lighting, nice solid backgrounds. Excellent. You should really consider joining one of the Guilds of Historica! Quote
Str0ngbad Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 This whole thing is quite wonderful. I particularly like the use of the wheel in the house and the green hoses for the plants. I'm a bit jealous of your photography skill and the way the MOC tells its own story is fantastic too. They should have buried him under the tree with the others... Given how well you told a story with this MOC, I think you would really enjoy the Guilds of Historica. Finally, if all your old builds are as delightful as this one, you should really go ahead and post them. I'd like to see more. Quote
timmyc1983 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Awesome little MOC there! As others have said you've really told the story so well with the bricks. And it's a good story too! Me thinks the grandfather should only let on to his daughter about that hidden chest under the tree, and hope that her and her son are not swept away with him!!! Happy building! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Superb photography and I like how you use slopes/inverted slopes to do the elevation changes Nice detailing in the underground sections and the figs are posed very well Quote
ZCerberus Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Looking at your style I think you would fit in well with Avalonia in the Guilds. If your not interested, that is cool, but you should check it out for some inspiration for your next set of MOCs. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Great build! It looks simple, yet refined. Everything is clean and wall shaped. The story is an interesting one. Great figure placement and head usage. It tells the story well. Keep up the great work. Join the Giulds. It seems to be a lot of fun. I've only wandered in a bit from time to time, but there are a lot of great builds and stories there. You'd fit right in. Quote
