I'd say about the same time for all of the above retailers; at most Toys'R'Us will get them a couple weeks ahead of the others. A month or two apart is a little long.

Last year they started to show in parts of Europe in may, and the US in early June. It looks like they are on a similar schedule this year.

So far I have found them in a limited availability in one of my local toy stores, but there are only a few. They only got one supply packet of them so far, so when this group is finished, they will have to wait for a while...

"Obsolete" is all in how you look at it. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to have a mix of old and new minifigures.

I'm not a big fan of the new Scout Trooper, though. Without arm printing it has way too much black.

I don't know why but I do know i prefer it, it is closer to looking authentic and correct. Old ones becoming obsolete, well, that is for you to decide...

Always when I have a new version of a minifig, and too much old ones, I just pretend it's a commander/commando :)

I'm guessing that they'll include a few of the new Scout Troopers in the rumored Ewok Village, too.

To me, the new scout isn't a huge improvement: still, the "mouth" and "ear" parts of the helmet are not printed. The unprinted helmet looks much more awkward on the new scout than on the old scout.

Personally, I would have preferred black hips and black printing on white legs (or at least, that's what I think).

The old scout looks very simple and to the point; it only needs a bit more black. The new scout, however, looks way too overprinted and complicated.

I love he new Yoda and Dooku's figs. The set itself I am less e armored of. It's to big for he story it is trying to tell. It reminds me of the Goblin King set from The Hobbit line. It's a great scene, but could have been done just as well or better in a smaller set. Most of the set is simply pointless scenery and walls, with no real play or display value. They could have reduced the sets size and price by 1/3 to 1/2 and no one would have noticed a difference.

I always loved how the Scout hasn't been redesigned once since he first appeared. Sure, maybe the design could be improved, but that looks like mediocre customs from years ago.

I'd agree that black printing on white would be better because so far, printing on black has never worked right, colours just don't match.

With the redesign of the Scout Trooper, why not switch the arms with the original version, and then paint the arms with a bit of black paint. Just a thought. And I do agree that the new Scout Trooper does look complicated, but hopefully to buy it with the Advent calender this September or whenever it gets released. And I can't wait for the 2013 sets to be released in the UK as well.

Quite like the reboot of the scout trooper it looks pretty cool. I wonder how many may be included in the Ewok Village if and when its announced.

Built the MHC last night, I like it. (Far better set than the Headhunter (poor man's poor man's X-Wing) - I bought it mainly for the minifigs, now I wish I'd only bought the minifigs.) Only down side is building the 6 identical legs, I can get a bit annoyed when the build is repetitive. At least they are exactly the same so you can build them all at once, rather than building the same thing again & again with slight variations one after the other. Good to have the updated Ahsoka at last!
