just2good Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Yeah, it's definitely one of those unofficial "How To" books on building MOCs. Those are quite useful! Quote
baron Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Has anyone picked up a copy of Yoda Chronicles yet? Quote
Fives Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Not sure if this has been posted anywhere before, but there is a Yoda Chronicles visual dictionary of sorts, and it comes with another Special Forces Clone trooper with less blue. Pretty cool. Brickshowtv has a (kinda boring) review of the book here: Early on they give you a decent look at the fig, but after that the review is really pointless. Quote
eric729 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 One of the things I don't like about the Brickshow is the amount of time spent on the minifigures. I feel like I have to pause the video to get a good look! I prefer others *cough* leogboy productions... Quote

Latest reviews have been filled with useless tidbits and misinformation (concerning lore, Jek's starfighter was especially appaling) making the reviews way too long. I'd take a written review over a video any day. Footage shot is alot better though to be fair. Edited July 11, 2013 by khatmorg Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Before this needs moderation, can we talk about the sets and not reviews? Quote
Darth Nader Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Does anyone else also dislike the new spider droid? The minifigures aren't bad but the legs on the homing spider droid have the same problems as the ones on the 2008 version. Quote

You are talking about the mini one right? If not then no I really don't mind the big one. I never got the 2008 big one so this will be my first if I end up purchasing it. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I think the little spider droids are quite cute And the big one satisfies my appetite for wanting one absolutely fine, so looking forward to getting at least 1 Quote
Chills Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) I would assume Toys R Us will release them early like they ussually do within the next 2 weeks. It's just the crappy mark-up on their prices that stops me from getting them early, but if your willing to spend some extra money, you'll have the new sets soon enough! I avoid TRU unless they have one of those fantastic sales. I'll wait until I can order the sets from TLG and get some more VIP points. 19 days and a wake-up! Edited July 12, 2013 by Chills Quote
just2good Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Advent Calender spoiler pictures for this year's! Thanks Brickset Forums! Quote

Well to be clear I was referring to the big one, the head of it looks a lot better but like I said before it does have the same problems with the legs. Watch the brickshow review if you want to know what I'm talking about. I may pick it up myself if I can find it on sale. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Advent Calender spoiler pictures for this year's! Thanks Brickset Forums! We've seen hi-res pictures in GRogall's Brickshelf since May. (Okay, Amazon has two slightly different angles of the front of the box -- that doesn't really count as anything new, in my opinion.) Quote

I don't follow LEGO Star Wars news, so I'm always late and what not. Weird how Brickset Forums are acting like it's new. I'll leave now. Quote

Weird how Brickset Forums are acting like it's new. I'll leave now. Don't worry; nobody else ever reads the first post, either. It is sort of ironic that Brickset is dedicated to a database of sets -- and an excellently maintained one at that -- but the members don't realize how long GRogall's already had the hi-res pictures they 'discovered'. I always go to the most recent unread post. Gosh do I feel stupid. So weird, even Groovebricks is treating it as new news. Well, thanks GRogall for providing the picture early, I guess! Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Oh my gosh, I can't believe J2G posted news that wasn't new! Sorry, but it's not a common occurrence! Okay, all things aside, I am looking forward to it. Young Boba was in need of an update for a long time now. Edited July 12, 2013 by 8BrickMario Quote
Only Sinner Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 The big spider droid is awsome. That is one of the first sets I'm getting from the summer wave. If you don't like the floppy legs, just put friction pins in the holes instead of the regular ones. I know the technic beams for the legs are kind of wierd looking, but there really is not a good alternative for long tubular pieces that will hold it up. Quote

Wow thanks, I really like the way it looks it was just that I couldn't stand the floppy legs. I don't really mind the technic beams though. The Stass Allie figure is definitely the highlight of the set Quote

February, was it? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 And didn't we get clear pictures during the Toy Fair back in... February, was it? Something like that. But the Brickset Forum users are saying that this is still new because they're clean, official pictures, so I'm making my statement that they're still months behind based on when we had the hi-res, clean, official images. Quote
Darth Nader Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Pretty common for the brickshow ! While they do talk too much in some reviews, at least they don't complain about the littlest things like legoboy does. I remember back from his umbaran mhc review he was complaining that the color of the 212th was completely off, saying that it "pisses him off," even though it was fairly accurate.
