And that's really too bad. They're nifty little sets. I do get that everybody perceives them to be overpriced, and they may well be overseas, but I don't think they are here (so one would think the US would be where they'd sell better, and thus where they'd be kept going, but apparently not).

Blast it, it's going to be frustrating trying to get those last three...

Argh! Any of them official LEGO reps?

Never mind; I've just asked TLG's customer service. I'm hoping to hear a "sure, they're just delayed" -type answer, but I'm not terribly optimistic.

Blast it, I know someone who just returned from a visit to the UK, too. I'd have asked her to pick some up for me if I'd thought they weren't going to be released here...

I just sent them an email as well, expressing my interest in seeing them in the US. Maybe if enough of us write they'll at least sell them at the LEGO stores and S@H.

I find it surprising you can't get them on S@H for the US, Australia is in the same boat where we are not getting them released to retail, but we also don't have any LEGO stores here. But I was able to get them from S@H with the ewok village.

They obviously have the stock, why not make it available to the US just through S@H as well.

Any reason on why they wont be release since the states is the biggest lego market?

Because they sit as shelf warmers in all of the major US retailers. Walmart, Target and TRU. Chances are they want no more of the things.

Thing is, rest-of-world has different packaging. To make a set available on Aus S@H they can just send it straight out of Billund, but for USA it's a bit more involved, and if the packaging doesn't exist...

I'm sort of annoyed at lego, in the HH-87 star hopper kenobi didn't have a helmet for his disguise yet in the yoda chronicles they made one for him.

I imagine what those people feel who bought these lieutenants for hundreds of dollars from ebay after the Lego event and now it's available at S@H :sceptic:

I got 2 for 70€ and sold them each for almost 200€, so I feel very good.

Regarding my query to TLG last week about US availability of Planets Series 4, I finally got an answer back from them yesterday, one week after I asked, and the answer is... vague. They don't say yes or no, or even acknowledge that the sets are already available elsewhere; the wording of the reply sounds almost as though I'd asked about something rumored and not-yet-released. Huh.

:sceptic:

Sure.

I wrote them, a week ago yesterday:

Hi. I'm an AFOL and Star Wars fan in the US. I understand the LEGO Star Wars Planets Series 4 sets (75009 Snowspeeder & Hoth, 75010 B-Wing Starfighter & Endor and 75011 Tantive IV & Alderaan) are not presently available in the US. Are they going to be released here at all?

... and they replied:

Dear Joe,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Isn’t it exciting that there are so many new LEGO® sets every year? It’s great to see you’re eagerly waiting and trying to find out about what we’ve planned for the future.

Joe, I know it's frustrating. At this time there is no release date avaialable for the sets.

I'm sorry that I can’t tell you anything about latest Star Wars™ planets sets at the moment. Something like that might be coming soon, but our new toys are always kept secret until they’re announced in the catalogue or on LEGO.com. That’s because it takes a long time to design and make new toys, and we sometimes need every minute until they hit the shelves to make them perfect. Besides... we look forward to surprising you!

Thanks again for getting in touch. We're always pleased to receive feedback from LEGO fans! If you could take a moment to complete a four question survey by going to the link below, it will help us make sure we are providing the best customer service to you.

So... huh. Does it strike anyone else as a little on the odd side?

Very strange, as if the Series 3 Planet Sets did so poorly, they're hoping the Series 4 will just go away and people will forget them. To me as well it feels like they're talking to a 10 year old.

Do you know if Planet Series 4 are going to on sale in Mexico?

Thanks in advance.

I don't, but on the previous page Gremer says that according to Brickset, Canada and Mexico will both get Series 4, while the US will not.

I find that even stranger that other areas of North America will get them, but not the US. Road trip to Canada anyone??

I'd love to get the last series. I actually preferred these little ships over the large scale versions. They did a great job designing them. Now I'll have to look up the piece list and build it myself. I really wanted that B-wing pilot to go with the UCS ship though.

I understand if something doesn't sell well to quit making it, but why not release this last series and then make no more. These were already advertised. At least let us get a hold of them.

I have two of that lieutenant which I'd love to sell off. I have no use for it. I'd trade those for series 4 any day.

They probalbly didn't understand your question, the person responding probalbly didn't knew what AFOL means and sent you a standard message back.

I think you could reply and clear things up, so you might get a better answer.

I wrote them as well and TLG gave me a definitive answer, no, series 4 planets will not be available in the US.

Time to order them in Spain and have my BIL ship them to me.

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

I'm sorry to tell you that Series 4 of the Star Wars™ Buildable Galaxies are not going to be coming out in the United States. From time to time we do have sets that are exclusive to certain areas of the world.

Once again, I'm sorry for any disappointment this may have caused.
