Has anyone seen the planets sets in the US? They're not on S@H.

I believe someone said that thy were going to be released in March in the US. I haven't seen them in any stores so I would guess who every said this is correct.

By the Way, when it comes to the new UCS X-Wing Price, although it seems low, its more than the UCS Y-Wing Bomber sold for at 120$. So it is possible that it is indeed a UCS X-WIng Starfighter, but I also think we could see the idea Fluppyloders suggested which was the the X-WIng starfighter we have now in a hangar bay or something like that. I think this is how it would turn out, but I still think it will end up being a UCS X-Wing...

10240 X-Wing Red Leader: Wedge, Red R2 Astro Droid, Rebel Mechanicx2, Grizz Frix-129.99$

Either way, I think this is a sign that lego is trying to balance out the two exclusive sets and the second one wil be a much larger playset kind of deal.

Anyone else found really poor quality torso printing on the Han Solo in the new A Wing? Looks like it was drawn on!

Care to elaborate some more? I haven't opened my set yet but this will be the only Han Solo i will own for quite a while, so i really wouldn't want him to be of lower quality hmm :(

I think it's more likely that the price is wrong than the type of model is wrong - LEGO aren't likely to release another minifig-scale X-Wing while the current version is only a year or so old, still happily occupying shelf space, and half the price. So yes, I think something in the realm of $130-150 for a new UCS model is more likely.

Or to take the long odds, a model that is both UCS AND minifig scale? Deliciously tempting concept. Unlikely, but tempting.

It is more likely that the price is wrong... yet it IS Grogall... he is an epitome of knowledge!

With regards to previous X-Wing, some people are still not getting it...

INFLATION!!!

$99 or even $129 will NOT get a UCS X-Wing of previous size.

Size of UCS B-Wing: 1487 pieces

0 Minifigs

Price: $199/ £169

Size of previous UCS X-Wing 13 YEARS AGO: 1300 pieces

Price: $150

Size of UCS Y-Wing: 1473

Astromech droid minifig

Price ( 9 years ago): $120 / £109

Y-Wing is best to compare current prices, to the B-Wing. Very similar piece count, but look at the price jump. $80 dollars/£60 jump.

So like I said, unless there is a big mistake with the price of $99, how on earth can you expect something of a previous sized X-Wing of around 1300 pieces for between $99-$130?!?!

Thanks for the pictures. Seen them before, but still thanks

BTW while I was looking at them I'd come up with 1 question: there are plenty photos of other series' sets, probably all of the ones upcoming for each series mentioned, but why only 1 page of Star Wars sets? Was it so hard to take a pic of the second one or there wasn't such one (I hardly dought, of course)? :hmpf_bad:

P.S. Another question (not belonging to aforementioned but anyway): why there are 2 Lukes pictured in 75014 set even in official lego.com images? There is only one in the set, as far as I know

Cannot imagine it being cheaper, especially if there are minifigs included, UCS are expensive because of the detail included, I cannot imagine how they could improve the detail and make it only marginally cheaper? It would be nice if they did, however, I don't see it happening.

What detail do you mean? There are just more small parts that are much chaper in production than large parts. I recently bought Super Star Destroyer and UCS Star Destroyer. Both Have over 3000 pieces andmost of them are really smal ones. The high prices are based on the small amount of sold sets in comparison to regular ones. Usually only adults buy lego that costs over 200-300usd

Very likely in my book. 100$ is too low to have it in the scale of 7191. And looking at Falcon, SSD, Shuttle from the past years - it makes sense. They all included minifigs and those sell a set. A UCS X-Wing in System scale (like the MF) is a dream come true for me. Finally a real canopy.. Can't await!

I think I have an idea what's happening with this "new X-Wing".

It's possible they're rebooting the UCS series to be minifigure scaled ships, but with a high level of detail.

If this is in fact the case, it would be a pretty good idea. For example:

Minifigure scaled X-Wing with lots of greebles, SNOT, and advanced building techniques.

Or as I like to call it, "Expert Series".

The current system set is pretty much minifig scale.

Let's not forget that there have been UCS sets at 'moderate' prices:

10026 (Naboo Starfighter): $40

10215 (Obi's Starfighter): $100

10174 (AT-ST): $80

10175 (TIE/Ad): $100

So why would the X-wing be not be buildable in UCS for that price? The LEGO designers have become more creative in recent times in building big things with less parts...

Unfortunatelly B-wing costs 200 usd, and R2-D2 180 usd not to mention european prices.

Maybe instead of the price wrong, it could be the "X" wrong? it might be an UCS A-wing? or something else...

are those minifigs "confirmed"?

I do follow this topic, but I don't remember seeing a source at all. Is there one?

As nice as a UCS or minifig scale X-Wing may sound to some, I really, really, really doubt there is any truth to this rumor. I mean, why would LEGO release another model of a ship that is still on the shelves (9493)? Sure, if it's a UCS, it's geared towards adult collectors who would probably eat it up, but still, from a business standpoint it just doesn't make sense. Why compete with your own products or create consumer confusion? It would be like if in the next wave LEGO released a System B-Wing while the just released UCS B-Wing is still sitting on the shelves. I really don't think we'll see a UCS X-Wing until the current System set has been retired for a few years.

Also, I REALLY doubt that this rumored set is the current X-Wing model with a fancy hanger and more minifigs tacked on. Could you imagine how upset the AFOLs/kids/parents who bought 9493 would be if LEGO did that?

If I have learnt at least one thing it is that LEGO will never retire the Minifig-scale X-Wing. When the first X-Wing from 1999 retired they re-issued the set in 2002 and when the 2004 X-Wing retired in 2005 they got enough calls of parents and kids that they released the nearly identical 2006 X-Wing that was in production until fall 2011. And then came the 2012 X-Wing. If they want to release an UCS X-Wing ever again, they have to do it side by side with the minfig-scaled one. Besides, the 2004 Y-Wing and UCS Y-Wing came in the same wave in fall 2004 and they also released in 2003 the UCS Snowspeeder with a minifig version coming directly in January 2004. It´s not like they have never done that before.

Your idea to release the same model at the same time with different accessories also happened with Anakins Podracer in 1999. He was available as a stand-alone with Anakin, Padmé and a Pitdroid and in the Mos Eisley Race with two other Podracers and more figs. But granted, they released the Pod sets in the same wave. Doing it with the X-Wing now would be like a kick in the kidney.

I think I have an idea what's happening with this "new X-Wing".

Well, I don´t know how I would find that. IMO a perfect X-Wing would have to be smaller than the current 70€ versions, so making the price higher would mean that they just make the same ship as 2012 with more details/unnecessary add-ons like carts and hangar walls or worse, an even bigger one with an exclusive fig. But on the other hand, it would be great for other vehicles that would normally be too huge to release as playlets in regular stores in their true sizes. Like the Falcon or Lambda Shuttle that they already released. I could see the Slave One in this format for 150 to 200, my beloved UCS leg-high AT-AT that will never come out, or the Umbaran MHC, if they ever do TCW UCSes.

I just wait untill the pics come out. When they´ve got the name already it can´t be that much longer to wait. Probably a march or may release like the years before, so that AFOLs have something to buy for the inevitable May 4th promotion.
