General Magma Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Adding on, its been officially announced from Kevin Hinkle (LEGO Community Manager) that he and his team will be announcing a new LEGO Exclusive set at BrickFair Alabama 2013 this weekend! However, its unlikely to be the UCS set, more likely gonna be the new Cinema Modular set, but theres hope! I think it could be the Tower of Orthanc from LOTR, actually. Quote

jmagaletta Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) I think it could be the Tower of Orthanc from LOTR, actually. I don't think LOTR UCS sets will take the spot of USC sets for Star Wars. If anything introducing UCS to another Licensed Line will bring in even more profits. That being said, has ther been any speculation about the SW UCS set besides the X-Wing talk, which I hope is false Edit: Nevermind, I misread what your comment was in reference to. Faefrost Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 That being said, has ther been any speculation about the SW UCS set besides the X-Wing talk, which I hope is false I'm putting my money on the life size Watto head that we see in that developer studio picture. I mean how could we ask for anything more? Quote
UnknownClone Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Actually, Commando Droids have been released in three other sets: 9488 Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack 75002 AT-RT 75012 BARC Speeder with Sidecar Actually it's still two sets for the specific commando droid that sir basil ashton was talking about as the AT-RT commando is a captain therefor different from the specific figure that was being discussed originally. And who says that the commander Gree figure has to be Gree? You could start an army of 41st elite corps troopers Quote

In the LOTR topic there was this little gem a week or so back: I can confirm that 10237 The Tower of Orthanc is a real set! Price and availability is unknown to me. I'd say that along with the cinema either of these two would be the more likely unveil and not a SW set. Quote
Pvt Lego Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I just wonder how large is going to be set 75022 Mandalorian Speeder. According to previous years with numbering of sets, higher set number means bigger set... so Mando speeder should be larger even of Rep. gunship. Something strange here.. or just set number rule is not relevant any longer. What do you think? Quote

Im a brickmaster. Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I noticed on the 2013 set boxes next to the Yoda artwork theres a blade pattern common in Geonoisian architecture. I think this might be another clue to Episode II sets this year. Quote

I don't think so, because the box design with all star wars licences is the same, so you would also see the yoda with geonosion pattern on for example hasbro sets. Quote

The Special Edition/Limited Edition TRU/Target/Walmart exclusives sometimes have higher numbers than the sets of the regular wave, regardless of their size. Quote
Pvt Lego Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 The Special Edition/Limited Edition TRU/Target/Walmart exclusives sometimes have higher numbers than the sets of the regular wave, regardless of their size. Yes I know that... I just belived these last rumored sets 75024 and 75025 are Exclusives, not Mandalorian speeder. Anyway thanks for your answer. Quote
Bobsy Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I don't think so, because the box design with all star wars licences is the same, so you would also see the yoda with geonosion pattern on for example hasbro sets. Even so, we already know that most of the non-CW, non-TOR and non-original-trilogy sets for 2013 are Episode 2 based. The Clone Troopers vs. Droidekas battle pack shows them on Geonosis on the packaging, and the AT-TE and Gunship sets are both Episode 2-centric as well. And then there's the Dual On Geonosis set, so yeah. Quote
Zaterdag Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Not at all, exclusive, elite and unique units should be included in large or specific sets, battle packs and small sets MUST contain plain or simple troopers, I would prefer simple battle droids vs white clones every year, an army of elites (droids and clones) makes no sense. I agree with you here, mate. The Mandalorian battle pack was the best, 4 identical non-specialized troopers. Too bad I don't watch the CW series and don't like the PT. (I still bought it on sale however ) I'd love to see them do that with Stormtroopers or Snowtroopers. I'd buy like 20 of the damn things. Quote
Nom Carver Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 You know what I am talking about, I dont like CW neither but still like some aspects of it, lets hope that the next BP contains only white phase II clones. Quote
Savage Oppress Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Since Lego is planning to release the new versions of Jango Fett and Young Boba Fett this year. I hope they are based on their models from Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars. Edited January 17, 2013 by Savage Oppress Quote
strangely Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Since Lego is planning to release the new versions of Jango Fett and Young Boba Fett this year. I hope they are based on their models from Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars. Lego can do better. I would assume Jango will have the same amount of detail as the Boba Fett from the new skiff. I assume for young Boba they'd use the Frodo hair or something else more accurate than what he's had in the past. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 We've had no confirmation that Lego will release new versions of young Boba Fett or Jango Fett...that's pure speculation at this point. Quote

Thanks. I was searching to see how I overlooked that information. I would love to see updated Jango Fett and young Boba minifigs. Have to be patient though, I'm sure it just a matter of time. I mean, there are a million clones out there that are Jango underneath their helmet and armor. Quote

No official confirmation from Lego. But we did have a few people glance at the retailers catalog, so it seems pretty likely we're getting them. Quote
Haderach Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Just another random person talking about the supposed new X-Wing, but always fun to stir the pot. Personally I'd geek out if they did another UCS X-Wing, I missed the boat the first time around! http://toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=7940&sid=fab4e9bd1a37687850229cc8a4ea18ed Quote

Nobody has explicitly said that they've seen these minifigs in the retailer catalog. Quote
