Ceroknight Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Wow they look great! The only set that I really want though is the Battle of Geonosis, I like everything about it.. Not a big fan of the new Anakin and Obi-Wan though..I guess I'm too used to the old ones.. Leia and Padme look great in their updates however! Mace's new leg printing might need some getting use to..and the new aliens all look fantastic! Quote
Sir von Lego Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hi, can anyone tell me what colour the new battle droid are? Are they the same like in the 8016 Hyena Droid Bomber = dark orange = rocket droids? Or are they in a new colour? greetings Hendrik Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 There is a thing with yoda on a new york street. Notice how in some of the pictures there are other figures seen in the glass. Who is the figure next to Leia. That's not Leia it's Kira Carsen from SWTOR. And the white Jedi is unknown, my guess is a Miralian Jedi from Yoda chronicles. Quote
ramjarjamjar Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) I'm just happy to see that the scout trooper has leg printing, edit - actually i wish they would have given it printed boots, some printing on the helmet would have been nice too... oh well, still an improvement Edited February 10, 2013 by ramjarjamjar Quote
HawkLord Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I'm impressed with most of these. Homing Spider Droid, Tank Droid, and Battle on Geonosis are definite and I'll probably be in for the Republic Gunship. Meanwhile the price on Jabba's Sail Barge is just too high. Seems like the Jabba's ROTJ stuff is getting pricey. Quote
Csacsa234 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) God damn, I don't know where to begin! RGS: Very awesome, good figures, but the bubble cannon issue... AT-TE: the legs are little short, but nice details, and great figures Duel on Geo.: I have to say that in spite that I don't like play sets, this is kinda awesome, but mostly because of the figs. (The new Yoda is incredibely movie-accurate and I just love the new pilot droid , Dooku and Poggle just the tip of the iceberg) Mando Speeder: Mauls CW head is awful and his legs are too long, the commandos are great, the speeder is nice but nothing special. Tank droid: nice deatils, Jango is superb SPider droid: Nice new design (one of my favs in the summer wave) and Stass/Adi is very cute JEK-14's fighter: nice ship and interesting figs, still I'd like to know more about them. (white saber hilt!!!!!!!!!!!) Barge: Figs are great, but the Barge is too short and a little blocky, the previous was more accurate...the alien grey hand problem is finally fixed. Calendar: Finally a correctly painted Scout trooper!!! All figs are great, the ships are clever too, I think that will be a must buy for me. But the other eye is still filled with tears because no news about the Defender cruiser Edited February 10, 2013 by Csacsa234 Quote
strangely Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 That's not Leia it's Kira Carsen from SWTOR. And the white Jedi is unknown, my guess is a Miralian Jedi from Yoda chronicles. Do we have any official confirmation on that? That looks like celebration Leia... Anyone notice the neck thing on Yoda? It attaches to a pole you can swing around to give Yoda that big "jumping around" action. Cool! -Sci I saw and I'm already having unpleasant flashbacks to 7257. Quote
Super Brick Collector Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The sets look great. I see we get a clone captain in the RGS and a clone commander in the AT-TE. I hope they show some of the exclusive sets. Quote
Fives Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 This is gonna be a great year for SW! The lack of CW sets is a major plus! We have needed remakes of the AOTC sets for far too long. All of the figures look great. Dooku is great, as is Yoda. The Anakin looks great, in my opinion. The hair, while over used, is fitting. But Padme is the best of the Gunship figs. Windu is nice. It's a shame that the new War Machine/Rhodey face is double sided, because it would be so much better for Windu. Trebor and Allie are also great additions to my ever growing Jedi group. The new Maul fig is gonna be really cool. Can't wait to see the legs in more detail. The one set that has taken me by surprise is the Jek set. The ship itself is pretty cool, but the figures are stunning! I love the printing of all the figs. Jek's helmet is awesome, and his blue arm looks so cool. The blue trooper looks interesting, and the shield reminds ,e of Ralph MacQuarrie's early art of the Stormtroopers. The green trooper also looks really awesome. Feels like he'd look great in a underworld style MOC. Much better wave than last year! Quote
Brickity Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) That's not Leia it's Kira Carsen from SWTOR. And the white Jedi is unknown, my guess is a Miralian Jedi from Yoda chronicles. I didn't know who that Kira Carsen was so I googled her. According to google, she has this friends hairpiece in brown and satele shan kind of clothing... so that minifig next to the white Jedi confuses me since it doesn't look like her, I actually thought it was Leia too. Not that I know about her or anything I'm just confused. Edited February 10, 2013 by Otherworld Quote

Fives Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 It's the celebration version of Leia. Notice how it has the same hairpiece, face, torso and gun. Makes sense. There's also Stass Allie and Boba Fett, but whose the white clothed Luminara Unduli? With a double bladed green saber? Confusing, but a great fig. Quote
djmangunz Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I asked Onions on FBTB if they might be able to shed some light on the mysterious white jedi is. I will post any replies here. Quote
Brickity Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Why did the Kira Carsen theme pop out then? Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Well, I'm pleased with that Advent Calendar. I take it the LAAT/R attaches to the six-legged walker, so that's pretty cool. Also a good lineup of army builder figures--a Phase I Clone, a Scout Trooper, a Geonosian (no wings?)--all look great. I wish Santa Jango had his Mandalorian backpack instead of the sack, but otherwise looks great. Quote
strangely Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Why did the Kira Carsen theme pop out then? Somebody who loves SWTOR and wants a Kira Carsen figure took a single look at a blurry picture, got excited, jumped to a conclusion and pasted their theory online without checking the facts. Even the first time I saw it I assumed it was a different variation of Padme (because of the hair). But a trip to Brickipedia cleared that up. Edited February 10, 2013 by strangely Quote

fatfrog2596 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The non-CW figures are great! Looking forward to complete my Jabba and Jedi collection And where is that New York Yoda from? Quote

It's celebration Leia, the one we got in the Y-wing. It does look a little like her legs and cape is a blue-grayish color, but that's just shadow. Quote
Lobot Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Interesting images, I'm really impressed by the new Gunship & AT-TE, and am looking forward to seeing them available. However, what have they done to the Biker Scout in the calendar?.... I really hope this isn't going to be the new 'standard' version of it; the old one was far cuter!! Quote
The Legonater Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Wow, where to begin? That Corporate Alliance snail droid is not very different from the previous, but it's still cool. Jango is amazing though! I really want some detailed pics of him. The new sandy Battle Droids are sweet as well, though I think I prefer the 2002 ones. The Mandalorian Speeder is beautiful! I don't care about Maul, but those Mandos are just gorgeous! And I was hoping I'd be able to count this one out for sure... The Spider Droids are incredible, but as I already have both from previous sets, Adi Galia is the only real draw, and I can skip her if it saves money for the beautiful sets here and in the LotR wave. The Duel is breath-taking. Poggle the Lesser is a great inclusion, Dooku looks exactly like Christopher Lee, that Yoda fig is stunning, and the set itself is a must-have. Sold. The figures in the Jek-14 set are really detailed, but I'll have to pass. That trans-blue arm gives me hope, though. I was going to pass on the AT-TE as I have the 2007 version, but Trebor is incredible, I'm still missing a Mace Windu, and again - those droids are really cool. The new Phase 1 commander and the stunning AT-TE in itself seals the deal. Gah. As for the Sail Barge, I missed out on the old one, so this is an instant must-have. The build looks great, the figs are stunning, sold. Also, I'm kind of shocked at Leia's new hairpiece. That Gunship... again, I was going to pass as I had the 2007... but the Ep. 2 Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme are all perfect, and the new clones are great. I only hope it's more stable than the 2007 one, which is fragile at best. I thought for sure the Advent Calender wouldn't be worth it. But that new Scout Trooper is just perfect. Really, they can't get much better than that. The old versions were annoying me with how inaccurate they were. The new Boba and Jango are great as well. Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I really like these sets. That Yoda is absolutely beautiful! Padme, Poggle, Ree Yees, Max Rebo, Colman Trebor, Leia, and Scout Trooper look amazing! But the Obi Wan, Anikin and santa Fett look a bit iffy to me. Quote

Even the first time I saw it I assumed it was a different variation of Padme (because of the hair). But a trip to Brickipedia cleared that up. I said it because of some similarities I saw: - She has a doublebladed green lightsaber, like Kira. - She is wearing an outfit you can unlock at level 30 for Kira. - She seems to have a scar on the left of her face, like Kira. None of it is confirmed, but as the Defender was rumoured, a ship she co-pilots, it could be possible. Edited February 10, 2013 by speederbike Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Well, these pictures are revealing, to say the least... I had high hopes for the new Darth Maul, but he looks horrible ! The legs aren't bad but the rest of it is awful. However, the Mandalorian Super Commandos are not that bad, but they aren't great either. The new Advent Calendar looks very nice and I like how they made Santa Jango. Speaking of Jango, his normal variant is stunning . Easily my favourite minifigure of the wave from those pictures, although that Poggle the Lesser is also very good. Coleman Trebor is also a very good minifigure and adds even more variety to the already diverse world of LEGO Jedi. Bring on Summer 2013! Edited February 10, 2013 by Star Wars NutJob 69 Quote
